Looking for a modern assault rifle which stands out as something different? The CZ 805 BREN A2 Carbine w/MOSFET from ASG comes complete with fully licensed trademarks by Česká Zbrojovka Firearms and boasts full metal construction with a MOSFET pre-installed. The real CZ 805 Assault Rifle currently serves with the Czech Military, replacing the venerable cold war era VZ.58 in 2006.

This is the SCAR's better looking sister! If you want to rock an AEG build for performance by the same team that brought you the legendary Scorpion EVO 3A1 and school the M4 users on awesome European firearms at the same time, this is the AEG you need!

Full description

Description

ASG's CZ 805 BREN A2 is the latest variant of the real steel CZ 805, boasting compatibility with M4 magazines, a pre-installed MOSFET and full metal construction. The upper receiver is machined from aluminium, just like the real thing, and the stock, pistol grip and lower receiver are high-density reinforced polymer, just like the real rifle.

Starting at the tip of the 12-inch alloy outer barrel we can find 14mm CCW male threads, allowing for most Airsoft tracer units and suppressors to be mounted without the need for an adapter. As it comes, the ASG CZ 805 BREN A2 comes with a birdcage flash hider pre-installed. This flash hider does suit the BREN, but if you are the type to customise your kit you can replace it with any 14mm CCW muzzle device for a custom look.

To the rear of the flash hider, we come to the highly detailed mock gas block, appropriately simulating the real CZ BREN and its short-stroke piston operating system. The gas block also has a dummy bayonet lug on the bottom, and a mock gas adjuster at the front, making for a perfectly detailed replica and a great tribute to the real firearm.

The upper receiver of the CZ 805 BREN is constructed from a single piece of aluminium and is known as a "monolithic" upper receiver. This has the benefit of adding strength to the design and also offers a full length 20mm Picatinny rail machined in to allow for optical sights of any length to be mounted, even having plenty of space for a red dot sight magnifier combo, the included back up iron sights, and a PEQ box if you really want to go full special forces with your BREN.

Mounted between the barrel and gas block we can find the front sling point, which is an ambidextrous example, meaning you can set up a two-point sling on either side of the ASG CZ 805 BREN, making it ideal for right or left-handed users. The rear sling point is at the rear of the receiver, and both sling points are designed for strap-style slings, but can also be used with other sling types with the addition of a paracord loop or keyring in the event the slot is too small for the sling hook.

On either side of the handguard, we can find two removable 20mm Picatinny rails which are perfectly positioned for a tactical flashlight, laser aiming unit or Runcam, for those who like to record their skirmish endeavours for future generations to enjoy. At the 6 o'clock position we have another 20mm rail, well suited to mounting a vertical or angled foregrip, or even a grenade launcher if you really want to punish the opposing team! All of the rails on the ASG CZ 805 BREN are constructed from aluminium for a perfect balance between weight savings and strength.

The charging handle of the ASG CZ 805 BREN A2 is located on the left side of the receiver in a similar position to a SCAR or ACR rifle, and can be pulled back to open the ejection port on the right side. With the charging handle held back you can access the adjuster of the rotary HOP-up unit.

The HOP-up allows you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and extend your range, and also tune the BREN for different weights of ammo for outdoor or indoor skirmishing. The rotary design is widely known as one of the best in the business, offering fine increments of adjustment and improved ability to hold its setting under the vibration of full auto fire.

Either side of the upper receiver includes precisely engraved and highly realistic CZ BREN trademarks, making this AEG replica very hard to distinguish from the real thing, with no indiscrete, telltale "FOR AIRSOFT ONLY" markings in bright white to be seen. This is a nice touch and is a great improvement on other licensed replicas we have seen previously, which often ruin the effect with unrealistic markings.

Moving down to the lower receiver we can see that the BREN A2 has ambidextrous fire controls, with a 3-position fire selector positioned just above the pistol grip on either side, with a selector design which avoids getting in the way of your hand when in a firing grip. Each fire mode is indicated with dot pictograms, with the safe mode indicated in white, and the semi and full auto modes indicated in red. The magazine release is also ambidextrous and is located on the magazine well, similarly to an M4/AR15. The mag release is easily reached with the trigger finger, allowing for fast and intuitive reloads under pressure.

The CZ BREN A2's pistol grip is a unique design, but incorporates many attributes of some of the more advanced and modern pistol grips on the market, including a filled-out backstrap to eliminate "hot spots" which can cause discomfort, and a refined grip angle with a slightly more vertical position to aid in shooting with the stock fully collapsed. The grip has divots on either side to provide an index point for the thumb, and the bottom of the grip includes a ledge to help you keep the BREN under control, even in wet weather.

Like the G36, the CZ BREN A2 makes use of a modular magazine well, allowing the real BREN to be configured to take either its own proprietary magazines or more common M4/AR15 magazines. The magwell installed on this version of the BREN is designed for M4/AR15 magazines, meaning you can share magazines in-game with your less sophisticated M4 toting mates, and make the most of widely available M4 magazines with their various styles and capacities.

The battery compartment of the ASG CZ 805 BREN A2 is located within the upper receiver and is accessible with the stock removed. The stock can be removed by pushing the pin in the rear of the receiver through from the right, after which the stock should come free. Inside you will see a mini-Tamiya battery connector to which you connect your battery of choice. For the BREN A2, we recommend a 7.4V 1300mAh LiPo stick battery for a good fit and optimal performance. With the stock removed you can also access the quick change spring guide of the BREN, which allows for quick power changes without having to disassemble the entire gearbox.

The stock of the CZ 805 BREN A2 is a side folding stock with length of pull adjustment, making it ideal for those who wear body armour, and users of any body type. To fold the stock to the side simply press the button on the left side of the stock base, and the stock can be folded and locked to the right side of the rifle. The length of pull is adjustable similarly to an M4/AR15 stock, with an adjustment lever on the bottom of the stock which allows it to be set at any one of 5 positions. The stock also includes a raised cheek riser and a textured butt plate to allow the stock to grip your shoulder effectively.

Inside the CZ BREN we are treated to some superb components, including a basic MOSFET to protect the trigger contacts, and a ball bearing spring guide to reduce friction and prolong the life of the gearbox shell. The BREN uses a version 3 gearbox with an alloy shell and a robust steel gearset, and is compatible with any upgrade parts for the version 3 gearbox for those who just must push every AEG they own to the limit!

Those looking for a unique platform with rock solid construction, licensed trademarks and M4 magazine compatibility need look no longer. The ASG CZ 805 BREN A2 is an AEG for those who appreciate something modern, yet different, which is hard to come by in a world where every second AEG is an M4!

Special Instructions

The externals of the replica are metal where they would be on the real world gun. This includes things like the outer barrel, handguard, and receiver. If a real world gun has polymer parts then the gun will still be marked as full metal externals, examples of this would be an M4, where the Stock and Pistol grip are always made from Polymer.
