- Flip-up offset iron sight set
- Offset to the right side by 45°
- Integrated 20mm Picatinny rail mount
If you use a large optical sight and are looking for a backup sighting system for when things get up close and personal, the APS Offset Flip-up Sight Set would be a useful addition to your build! These sights mount to any 20mm Picatinny rail surface and provide a fine front post and a dual aperture rear sight, both of which are adjustable. The sights can be stowed flat, in line with your weapon, and quickly deployed by pressing the catch on the left side of each sight. This is a great combination of offset sight functionality but without creating the additional snagging points a fixed offset sight setup might, helping you stay snag-free and mobile whilst skirmishing.

Description
The Offset Flip Up Sight Set from APS is a unique design intended to provide the functionality of a set of fixed offset sights, without creating additional snag points on the weapon that may catch on gear or make the rifle uncomfortable to carry on a sling.
Offset sights are intended to be used in concert with a primary sighting system and provide a sight aperture at (most commonly) 45° offset to the bore. This means with a quick rotation of the rifle you are able to switch to using iron sights to aim, allowing you to use a large scope with high magnification and still be able to react quickly to threats which pop up at closer ranges. Offset sights are often used over "piggy-back" red dot sights or backup iron sights due to their lower height to the bore of the rifle requiring less compensation for an accurate shot, allowing faster and more instinctive use.
This APS sight set is a bit different to other offset sighting solutions in that their folding quick deploy design allows them to be stowed flat against the top of the rifle, with no protrusions to catch on your equipment until they are needed, at which point the sights can quickly be deployed by pressing the catch on the left side of each sight base. With these catches pressed, the sights will flip up and present on the right side of the rifle, at 45° to the top rail/barrel. To stow the sights again simply push each sight back towards the mount where it will lock into place, and rotate the aperture rearwards by 90° where it will lock in the stowed position.
The front sight is a standard M4/AR15 front sight post which can be raised and lowered using an M4/AR15 front sight adjustment tool to make elevation adjustments. The rear sight includes two apertures, both of which are diamond-shaped to provide a more precise index point for your front sight when compared to circular apertures. The fine aperture is ideal for well-aimed single shots, whilst the wider aperture is useful for fully automatic and aiming in low light conditions. The rear sight can also be adjusted from left to right for windage using the adjustment screw on the right side of the rear sight, and a flat head screwdriver. To change the rear aperture, you can simply rotate the sight front to back, and it will lock into your chosen position by way of a spring-loaded detent. Both the front sight blade and the rear sight aperture are protected on either side by alloy protective wings, intended to prevent a bump or scrape from messing with your sight alignment and zero.
If you like the idea of using a set of offset iron sights, whether it is for close-ranged work or for times where the sun makes optical sights difficult to use, but you don't like creating snag points on your rifle, this APS sight set is designed with you in mind. These sights would be a great option for a DMR build or accurized AEG build with a large optic, and can save you from going to your sidearm until it's absolutely necessary!
