Description

For those looking for a striking new sidearm which stands out amongst all the boring, black pistols out there, the Hi-Capa Executor from Army Armament is sure to fit the bill. This full metal GBB pistol sports a high quality matt silver finish applied to its slide, frame, outer barrel and magazine well extension, together with a polymer grip in pale grey. When you draw this bad boy people are going to notice, so you better shoot straight!

Starting at the front end of the pistol, we can see the "bull" style outer barrel, complete with 12mm CCW female threading. This barrel is styled after competition pistol barrels and has a straight profile which encourages accuracy and helps prevent heat build-up in the real deal. As far as Airsoft is concerned, this barrel adds a nice bit of realistic detail and provides a threaded mounting point for tracers, suppressors, or other muzzle devices with the appropriate adapter. At the chamber area, the outer barrel includes engraved "9x19" markings, denoting its real-world calibre and adding an extra hint of realism to the Hi-Capa Executor. The barrel has the same matt silver finish as the frame, slide, and mag well, tying the pistol together and giving it that classy look.

Moving on to the slide, we can see additional front slide serrations have been milled in to provide an additional point of control when cocking the pistol. This gives the shooter an additional option when it comes to manipulating the slide of the pistol, and can be especially useful for those with less grip strength. These serrations are milled at an angle, matching those at the rear of the slide, giving the Hi-Capa Executor the high-speed, dynamic appearance of a competition pistol. At the rear of the slide, above the rear serrations, we can find the adjustable rear sight which features an "anti-glare" rear plate to ensure you can always see the sight notch and easily align it with the front blade. The front sight blade has a light enhancing fibre optic insert within, and when combined with the anti-glare rear sight, guarantees you will never mix up your sight dots and miss an essential shot, as is possible with white dot sights. The rear sight can be adjusted for elevation using the adjustment screw on the top, and for windage using the screw on the right side of the sight. The hammer can be found at the rear of the slide, attached to the frame, and is a skeletonised design with a textured section to provide positive control for when the hammer needs to be manually cocked.

Next up, we reach the frame of the pistol, which is constructed in standard Hi-Capa fashion; with a metal upper frame containing the internal parts and a lower pistol grip/trigger guard module made from polymer. The upper frame features an extended dust cover which gives the Hi-Capa executor an angular, modern look. Moving rearwards, we come to the slide release catch/disassembly lever, which is located on the left side of the pistol. This control features a serrated extension surface to allow easy access to release the slide with no chance of slipping off the control, with a weight-reducing relief cut in its underside to minimise unnecessary weight in the build. To the rear of the slide release catch, we can find the manual safety, which is present on either side of the pistol and sits comfortably within reach of the shooter's thumb when holding the pistol in a firing grip. This safety allows the Hi-Capa Executor to be carried "cocked and locked" safely, with only a very slight movement required to remove the safety before taking the shot. The Executor also includes the hallmark 1911/Hi-Capa beavertail grip safety, which protrudes slightly from the rear of the grip. This safety ensures the pistol can only be fired when it is properly gripped, preventing accidental discharges.

The magazine release can be found on the left side of the pistol, ideally positioned for right-handed shooters but also accessible for lefties with a bit of practice. The release is an extended design which protrudes slightly more than the standard 1911/Hi-Capa magazine release, meaning you'll get to it that split second earlier than the original design, making for extra fast reloads. Speaking of which, at the bottom of the polymer grip module we can find an absolutely huge magazine well flare, constructed from alloy and finished in matching matt silver. This piece helps guide your magazine into the magazine well, even when operating at high speed. The flair takes the precision out of the reload procedure, allowing the shooter to repeatedly carry out clean and fumble-free reloads, even when all sweaty and pumped with adrenaline!

The pistol grip of the Hi-Capa Executor is constructed from a single piece of high density polymer for added strength, and features fine diamond checkering on either side and square checking on the front strap and back strap to ensure you have a solid grip on the pistol in any weather condition. The texture on the grip is effective, yet comfortable enough to use the pistol with or without gloves. The grip incorporates a flat-faced trigger guard to promote its use as a secondary point of control, as seen in the "European grip" used by many of the world's fastest target shooters. The trigger guard has a textured section, intended to be used as an index point for the trigger finger of the support hand to control muzzle rise.

The trigger itself is a skeletonised design, styled similarly to the hammer, and includes linear texturing on its frontal surface to promote a consistent trigger pull and prevent your finger from sliding around and pulling shots off during strings of rapid-fire. The trigger, as with many other Hi-Capa and 1911 variants, has a very small amount of uptake before you get to the wall, and resets with a satisfying audible and tactile click with practically no over travel. The trigger is what makes real 1911 and Hi-Capa pistols so popular with competition shooters, and fortunately for Airsofters, this perk has translated over well to the Airsoft equivalents! If you are shooting for speed, whether in a skirmish or for target shooting, you can't do much better than a Hi-Capa trigger!

So, whether you are doing a bit of target shooting but you want to perform your best with an out of the box pistol, or you are looking for a respectably performing skirmish sidearm that will definitely turn heads on the field, the R609 Hi-Capa Executor from Army Armament should suit your needs perfectly!
