- Full metal construction
- 6.03mm Tightbore inner barrel
- Gen.2 - CYMA MOSFET & reinforced gearbox shell
If you're looking for a rail-clad AK you can kit out with accessories, the CYMA Gen.2 CM.039C AK-47 Tactical AEG is a solid choice. A realistic full metal build with a 20mm Picatinny railed handguard and receiver, this AK-47 build is inspired by "Tactical" AK builds used by Private Military Contractors (PMCs) during the Global War on Terror. A user-friendly marriage of bad guy vibes with an attachment-ready exterior, this AK is ready to be customised!
Inside, this Gen.2 build is packing a lot of punch for the price, equipped with a CYMA V3 MOSFET, a high-torque motor, a polycarbonate piston with a full rack of steel teeth and a steel quick-change spring guide with low-friction ball bearings built in. The motor is a potent high-torque example, resulting in a speedy trigger response in semi-auto, with lock-ups eliminated thanks to the in-line "ZEUS" MOSFET.
The inner barrel is also a 6.03mm tightbore example paired with an alloy HOP-up unit, giving you what you need to compete at longer ranges. If you've always fancied an AK, but you're an attachment addict, the CYMA Gen.2 CM.039C AK-47 Tactical AEG is the one for you!

Platform Details
Starting at the tip of the barrel, we can find a classic "slant" muzzle brake, intended in the real AK to counteract the jarring recoil forces of the massive AK bolt carrier by redirecting the muzzle blast. The brake may look like it is not straight, but we assure you this is all part of the utilitarian AK design.
The slant brake mounts to 14mm CCW male threads at the tip of the outer barrel and can be swapped out for a suppressor or tracer unit if you want more of a Special Forces look for your AK. We recommend a PBS-1 Suppressor if you want an authentic Russian-style look!
The front sight of the CM.039C mounts directly to the outer barrel and provides an adjustable front post with protective wings to ensure an accidental bump or scrape doesn't render your sights useless. As part of the classic AK aesthetic, we can find a dummy cleaning rod running parallel to the outer barrel, through the front sight block and gas block. This isn't intended for cleaning an Airsoft barrel and is just for the look.
As we move rearward, we find the CM.039C dummy gas block and gas tube, which are realistically styled after the original AK47 production variant, the Type 3. The gas tube includes mock vents and a steel sling loop mounted to the barrel on the left side, which is designed for "hook" type slings.
To the rear of the gas block, we can find the polymer handguards, which are of a modern tactical style with vent holes and integrated 20mm Picatinny accessory rails. These rails allow any accessory designed for 20mm Picatinny to be attached, from flashlights to lasers, foregrips and even RunCam action cameras.
The top and bottom rails cover the full length of the handguard, and the side rails provide just enough space to mount a tactical flashlight or PEQ laser unit. This rifle comes preinstalled with a folding vertical foregrip, which can be used either deployed or folded and provides much better gripping qualities than the handguard alone.
Following the handguard, we come to the trunnion block, which provides the mounting point for the classic AK tangent rear iron sight. The rear sight provides multiple graduations for adjustment and a fine rear sight notch to align with the front sight post.
The sight itself can be adjusted by pressing the drums on either side of the sight notch and moving the notch back and forth on its base. The lever on the right side is the handguard disassembly lever and is functional, but due to the use of a railed gas tube, the Allen bolts holding the gas tube on will need to be removed before the lever comes into use.
As we reach the receiver, we can find a standard AK-47/74 layout with a centrally positioned ambidextrous magazine release at the front of the trigger guard, a mock bolt carrier on the right side of the receiver and a 3-position fire selector on the right side. Sitting atop the receiver is a long section of 20mm Picatinny rail, allowing you to set this AK up with long-distance scopes rather than relying on the good old spray and pray.
To access the HOP-up unit of the CM.039C, simply hold the charging handle to the rear to reveal the slider-adjustable HOP-up unit. The slider unit is known as one of the best designs out there, and that is the reason this unit has not changed in design since the original Tokyo Marui AK-47 AEG. To increase the HOP-up effect, simply move the slider rearwards.
Returning the slider to the front will reduce the HOP-up to its lowest setting. HOP-up allows you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and set this AEG up for different ammo weights, looking for the flattest possible trajectory.
The fire selector provides 3 modes of fire: safe, full auto and semi-auto, in that order. It is an AK after all! This was designed to allow for fast selection of semi-auto with a quick sweep down of the selector, and isn't actually because the AK was designed for full auto, as is the common myth. Each fire selector position also features engraved Cyrillic markings, just like a real AK rifle.
The battery compartment is beneath the top cover, and to access it, you must first pull rearwards on the rail section to release it, then fold it upwards, but ensure your iron sights are lifted so they don't interfere with one another. Then, once the rail section is out of the way, press the button at the rear of the top cover, and it should come straight off, revealing a Deans battery connector. For the CM.039C, we recommend a 7.4V 1300mAh LiPo in AK Stick configuration.
On the bottom of the receiver, we find the polymer pistol grip, which has been textured for an improved feel and a better grip. The trigger guard and magazine release can be found just ahead of the pistol grip, and are constructed from steel to provide solid magazine locking and ample rigidity.
The magazine release is placed in the centre of the receiver and is accessible from either side of the AEG. A "rock and lock" retention system, the AK mag release requires you to first index the front "hook" on the magazine inside the receiver, then rock the magazine to engage the catch.
At the rear of the receiver, we come to the good old M4/AR-15 buffer tube, adding functionality to this AK platform its wood-clad cousins can only dream of. The buffer tube is constructed from alloy and provides 6 positions of adjustment for the pre-installed M4A1 "LE" stock, or any other M4/AR-15 AEG stock you choose to mount. The adjustment lever of the LE stock is on the bottom, with an alloy sling loop just behind, designed for "strap" slings.
Internals
Internally, we are in for a real treat with this Gen.2 variant of the CM.039C. The gearbox has been fully revamped and is now equipped with CYMA's V3 MOSFET, enhancing trigger response and preventing trigger lockups if you shoot semi-auto rapidly.
Inside the reinforced V3 gearbox, we're treated to 18:1 ratio steel gears running on 8mm ball bearing bushings, backed up by a potent high-torque motor with Neodymium magnets. This provides a snappy cyclic rate in both fire modes while reducing wear and tear on the gearbox shell through its low-friction bushings. The piston also has a full rack of steel teeth, ensuring it can go the distance with the rest of the build!

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These tables can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable joule limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used at Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
