Whether you're working on an SAS-themed CQB loadout or you're a fan of the legendary MP5 in its stealthiest form, the CYMA Platinum Gen.2 CM.041SD6 H&K MP5 SD6 AEG should be in your sights. A full metal build revamped with Platinum Gen.2 internals, the CM.041DS6 is now officially licensed by Heckler & Koch via Umarex. This means, unlike previous versions, the Gen.2 features licensed H&K trademarks to complete the realistic look.
Inside, we're treated to the best internal features CYMA currently has to offer. The reinforced version 2 gearbox features CNC steel 13:1 high-speed gears running on 8mm ball bearing bushings, CNC aluminium compression parts and a steel quick-change spring guide for easy power tuning. The motor is a potent high-torque example and pairs perfectly with the Eshooter Kestrel Basic ETU for a stunning trigger response and an incredible rate of fire.
A true icon in the firearms world and the perfect complement to a special forces-themed loadout, this MP5 SD6 beats the original in terms of realism thanks to its H&K trades, and performance-wise, absolutely thrashes it thanks to its Platinum Gen.2 high-speed internals. If you love a sneaky-beaky MP5 that you'll never need to upgrade internally, the CYMA Platinum Gen.2 CM.041SD6 H&K MP5 SD6 AEG will put a big smile on your face!

Platform Details
Starting at the front end, we can find the suppressor, which perfectly matches that of the real SD integral suppressor. Unlike the real thing, this suppressor is removable, mounted via a proprietary lug system. This unfortunately prevents threaded muzzle devices like tracer units from being fitted, but it is a handy feature to store the MP5 SD6 in a smaller gun bag or case.
Following the suppressor rearwards, we come to the front sight assembly, which mimics the conventional MP5 with its squared front sight post surrounded by an alloy protective ring. This sight pairs perfectly with the rear rotary drum "dioptre" rear sight, a sight setup which is often credited with being the best iron sight design out there. On the left side of the front sight assembly, we also have a built-in sling point, ideally located for use with the rear sling point and a two-point sling.
The front sight is not adjustable, but the rear sight can be adjusted for windage by loosening the screw on the right side of the rear sight base and sliding it back and forth. The rear sight also offers 4 options for aiming apertures which range in size from the smallest, ideal for long-range semi-auto shots, through to the largest, which is great for close-range snap shooting, low-light scenarios and full-auto fire.
The handguard follows the front sight and is the correct ribbed design for an authentic MP5 SD, providing plenty of grip and comfort for both left and right-handed shooters.
The battery compartment is inside the handguard. To access it, remove the small pins on either side, then slide the handguard forward. Inside, you'll find a Deans battery connector. We recommend an 11.1V 1450mAh LiPo in Crane/nun-chuck configuration for an easy fit and a stunning 11.1V rate of fire!
What is known as the "cocking tube" lives just above the handguard, and as the name suggests, this is where you will find the cocking handle. The design of the cocking tube is slightly different to a conventional MP5 and includes linear grooves in the surface to reduce heat build-up for improved shooter comfort.
The cocking handle also retracts the mock bolt carrier on the right side of the receiver, revealing the slider adjustable HOP-up unit. This unit allows you to increase or decrease the amount of backspin applied to your projectile, extending range and allowing the AEG to make effective use of BBs of various weights.
Moving rearwards, we arrive at the receiver, which follows the iconic MP5 format perfectly. The receiver is comprised of two parts, the upper metal section known as the “upper receiver” and the polymer lower section, known as the “trigger pack”. The fire selector is present on either side of the trigger pack and offers 3 modes of fire: safe, semi-automatic and fully automatic, with a 45-degree throw between fire modes.
Each fire mode is indicated with the ever-recognisable red and white bullet pictograms, which first appeared on the “Navy” style MP5 trigger pack and now make their way onto most modern platforms in one form or another. Safe is indicated with a crossed-out projectile in white, semi with a single projectile in red and full auto with several red projectiles in an open box.
The grip itself is built into the trigger pack and is an ergonomic design with an enlarged trigger guard built in. This grip has been a subject of a lot of praise, and the shape and style match more modern platforms, such as the AR36, and are widely credited with being the inspiration behind the highly popular MOE and MIAD grips for the M4/AR-15. The trigger guard allows plenty of space for gloved shooters, and the trigger perfectly matches the shape of the real steel SMG.
The magazine release is also ambidextrous, being a paddle-style release positioned just ahead of the trigger guard, making the MP5 a fine choice for right or left-handed shooters. There is also a secondary magazine release on the right side, on the magazine well, in a similar position to that of the M4/AR-15. This gives you the option of two different magazine release styles, though we prefer the ambidextrous paddle release, as the AR style release is a bit further from the grip than on an M4 and can be harder to reach for those with smaller hands.
Running along either side of the receiver, we can see a groove, which is the track in which the sliding stock indexes. This serves both to keep the stock tight into the weapon when retracted, to reinforce the receiver and provide tracks for the bolt carrier to move along on the inside of the real thing.
At the top, we have a pair of lugs which allow for an SMG-5/G3 claw optics mount to be added if you want to mount a red dot sight or scope. These lugs are compatible with both low-profile and high-profile "claw" type mounts.
The rear iron sight is located at the back of the receiver and is a rotary drum diopter-style sight, just like the real thing. The sight offers 4 different apertures for aiming, with the wider apertures being ideal for low-light situations and full-auto fire, and the finer apertures are great for long-range shots and semi-automatic fire. Changing apertures is easy in any weather conditions thanks to the knurling at the top of the drum. Simply turn the sight to the chosen position, and it will lock into place under spring tension.
Arriving at the rear, we come to the sliding stock, made with a low-profile textured polymer butt plate, alloy stock bars and an alloy stock base finished to match the receiver and cocking tube. On the left side of the stock base, we also have our rear sling point, which is a steel sling bar designed for HK slings. Any sling can be mounted; however, like the front sling point, if you find your sling hook is too big to attach, you can add an Emersongear Universal Sling Adapter, a keyring or a paracord loop to extend it.
The stock can be extended into 3 different positions and can also be used fully collapsed for exchanges of fire at kissing distance. The fully extended position is great for shooting in less cramped situations, and the middle position is a happy medium.
To adjust the stock, push the lever on the bottom to the left, which will pop the stock off its locking mechanism; then you can pull the stock out to the desired position, where it will lock in place. Deploying the stock is remarkably quick and easy, and when in place, there is practically no wobble.
Internals
The highlight of this licensed MP5 build is its Kestrel Basic ETU/MOSFET, offering 6 levels of adjustable pre-cocking, options for 3-round burst and binary trigger, along with low battery warning, cycle completion, active braking and low/high voltage cutoff. This means you can crank up the trigger response for super-fast double taps or run the CM.041 with SAFE-SEMI-3RND BURST fire controls. Also inside is a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel, giving you superb accuracy potential.
The astonishing rate of fire and trigger response of the CM.041 come from the latest CYMA Platinum internals, now upgraded with the V2 GEN-2 gearbox. This reinforced shell features improved bearing seats for enhanced durability under heavy use, while CNC 13:1 high-speed gears with a short-stroke setup deliver rapid cycling and an incredibly snappy trigger response. Paired with a high-torque neodymium motor, the result is fast, efficient and consistent performance straight out of the box.
Internally, a CNC aluminium silent piston and cylinder head set, double O-ring seal and CNC-machined air-seal nozzle ensure excellent air efficiency and shot consistency. The polycarbonate piston with full steel tooth rack, 8mm steel ball bearings and quick-change spring guide round off a robust, high-performance setup. With two magazines included, the CM.041 is ready to dominate with very little left to upgrade.

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These tables can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable joule limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used at Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
