This isn't just any P90, this is the Cyber Gun Licensed FN HERSTAL P90. Constructed from a mix of metal and polymer just like the real thing, stamped with official FN Herstal trades and fitted with the traditional red dot sight; this is a no-brainer for the P90 fanatic!

Issued to the US Secret Service, Belgian paratroopers, and special forces units from all around the world, you have to have been living under a rock to not notice this iconic PDW/submachine gun, especially for its role in Goldeneye 007 for the N64, The World is Not Enough and Stargate SG1. The Cyber Gun P90 is rocking the version 6 gearbox with a rotary adjustable HOP-up unit, and it may look funky but it has all it needs to keep the M4 and AK users on their toes!

Description

The Cybergun FN P90 PDW presents itself in a short, compact & minimalist manner all while harbouring a menacing aura, like an unpredictable Chihuahua. Designed for use by tank and helicopter crewmen or troops on the move as a close-range PDW, the gun features a full external robust polymer build, with ergonomic curvatures allowing for a lovely comfortable grip at all times. The Cybergun P90 offering makes a fantastic alternative to the popular but out-of-production CYMA P90, with a similar internal feature set and the added bonus of licenced trademarks.

On the front end of the gun, you've got the classic FN P90 Flash hider / Muzzle break that sits on the end of the super short outer barrel, which makes for excellent concealability & handling in close quarters environments. The grip arrangement of the P90 may look unconventional, and it is, though it has some enviable functionality built right into its space gun curves.

The height of the P90 grip is minimal and is angled more like a traditional semi-pistol grip rifle stock than a modern pistol grip. This has the benefit that the P90 is very easy to get low with, and by this, we mean in the prone position. This is great for both indoor and outdoor use and allows you to take a very effective cover position and return fire, reload and operate the P90 easily, thanks to its top-mounted magazine.

The front grip of the P90 includes an integrated hand stop, and helps promote rapid snap shooting by being so close to the tip of the barrel, giving you maximum control over the direction the P90 is pointing, and making it more difficult to overshoot when transitioning between targets at speed.

The fire selector of the P90 is positioned just below the trigger; an ideal location for both left and right-handed shooters. The P90 has 3 modes of fire, safe, semi-auto and fully automatic. The difference between the P90 and other AEGs is its two-stage trigger system, which allows you to shoot semi-auto when the selector is set to full auto with a short trigger pull, and lay down a hail of BBs by pulling the trigger back all the way for full auto fire. This is particularly useful for dealing with moving targets as you can quickly make the call to send a burst down range if semi-auto fire is not sufficient to send the enemy back to regen.

The magazine release can be found on the top of the stock, at the rear of the magazine. This mag release requires pulling back to release the mag. The top-mounted magazine is a major advantage when it comes to reloading in the prone position, just ask anyone who knows about the infamous BREN gun! There is no need to roll around or tilt the P90 to access the magazine well, everything you need is right on top and easily accessible. This is a major reason the P90 is such a popular sniper's secondary; its compact size and enviable utility in the woods make it the perfect option.

The HOP-up unit of the P90 is located inside the receiver and is accessible through a port located inside the thumbhole of the stock. The port door can be opened with a fingernail or flathead screwdriver. With the port open you will see the rotary HOP-up adjuster inside. Turning the adjuster will vary the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and allow you to tube the P90 for your ammo weight of choice, seeking the flattest possible trajectory.

The battery compartment is located inside the stock, and to access it you will need to remove the butt plate. This can be done by pressing the button on the underside of the butt plate and sliding the plate downwards and off the AEG. Inside you will find a mini-Tamiya battery connector to which you connect your battery. For the Cyber Gun FN P90, we recommend a 7.4V 1300mah LiPo stick battery, which fits nicely above the gearbox with plenty of room to spare.

The upper receiver of the Cybergun P90 is constructed from alloy and includes both a red dot sight, two sets of backup iron sights and a sling slot built in. This is a nice change from earlier Cybergun P90 AEGs and really elevates the realism of this affordable P90 replica.

The one feature that makes this particular gun special however is the built-in red dot sight, which might be a trip down memory lane for the Stargate SG1 fan as it was featured as the main primary weapon used by the SG1 Atlantic Expedition troops for many years & quickly became the icon of the Stargate armoury. The dot is nice and crisp and is especially useful in low-light CQB situations. On either side of the red dot sight, we can find a set of backup iron sights, also known as BUIS. These sights are intended to step in in the case that the primary optic fails or runs out of battery and are present on each side to allow lefties and righties to operate the P90 without issues.

Overall the FN Herstal P90 is an excellent choice for the CQB lover or the gunner on the move, it has the ability to hit AR ranges, takes up a forearms length when ADS all while it can fit inside a backpack. If you need an AEG as backup to your sniper rifle, the P90 will be hard to beat. Its short length, excellent ergonomics and forward-thinking design make it a demon in the woods, or in CQB!
