Description

Introducing the Hi-capa 3.8 X, the newest member of the ever growing VORSK line of Hi-capas, competition styled pistols with fantastic ergonomics, snappy performance, and attractive competition-esque styling. The 3.8 x carries through the vented slide styling of previous VORSK Hi-capa offerings in a new, shorter package, but unlike other baby Hi-capas on the market, the 3.8 X keeps the full length pistol grip of the larger 5.1 variants; offering excellent ergonomics together with the "Commander" length slide.

Starting at the tip of the outer barrel we can find VORSK has installed a thread adapter, straight out of the box! A very generous move, especially considering the increasing popularity of using pistols with Tracer units in CQB skirmishes. The threads on the outer barrel itself are 12mm CCW female threads, but the thread adapter provides 14mm CCW male threads allowing all the most popular Airsoft muzzle devices to be mounted with ease. And to sweeten the deal, VORSK provides a stylish thread protector, so even if you aren't mounting a tracer or suppressor, your pistol will still look the business! Speaking of looking the business, the outer barrel of the Hi-capa 3.8 X features attractive spiral fluting, meaning when your mag runs empty and your slide locks back your jaw will drop too!

Moving rearwards we come to the shortened Hi-capa slide, which features all the usual enhancements found on VORSK's other Hi-capa pistols. These include attractive angular vents in the slide, helping to keep the weight of the slide down to increase the cyclic rate and serrations at the rear which mesh perfectly with the styling of the slide vents. At the top of the slide we can find fibre optic light-enhancing front and rear open iron sights, which feature green inserts for a perfect sight picture which is easy to acquire quickly and should stand out in all but the darkest conditions. The slide itself, like the controls and magazine well extension, are beautifully finished in matt black, giving the pistol a discrete, yet speedy race gun look that will definitely turn heads on the skirmish field.

Moving down to the frame and pistol grip we can find the controls of the Hi-capa 3.8 X, which are identical to other Hi-capa models in the VORSK range, and are very well placed. The ambidextrous manual safety sitting right beneath the shooters thumb for fast access, and the extended slide release can also be reached from a firing grip. The manual safety locks the trigger and hammer, preventing the pistol from firing, but this obviously only works when the safety is on. The Hi-capa pistol series features an extra level of safety in the form of the beavertail grip safety; a proven design which dates back to this pistols Granddaddy, the 1911 pistol. This safety prevents the pistol from firing if the grip safety is not depressed, meaning you will never have an accidental discharge from snagging the trigger on gear! The alloy frame features a 20mm Picatinny pistol rail, which is ideal for mounting tactical flashlights and lasers, should the mission require it. The magazine release can be found on the left side of the pistol and is a slightly raised design which is easy to hit, but not so easy that you can accidentally drop your magazine in the heat of a firefight!

Both the hammer and trigger of the Hi-capa 3.8 X are a skeletonised design, reducing the weight of the pistol to only what is necessary for optimal performance, and tying in with the other high-speed features of this pistol, such as its vented slide. The pistol grip of the Hi-capa design is a modular part, separate from the alloy frame, and is made from textured polymer for excellent gripping qualities, providing enough friction to prevent an accidental drop but not so much that you have to wear gloves in order to avoid tearing your hands apart. The texturing extends to the trigger guard, giving you something to grab onto with your support hand and allowing more modern shooting grips to be used. At the bottom of the pistol grip, we can find the magazine well extension, a staple for any competition pistol. This extension provides a useful guide to help speed up reloads, taking away the possibility of user error slowing you down and making reloading quickly an absolute breeze.

Now that we have you drooling over the looks of this pistol, let's talk about its performance. The cyclic rate is excellent, as one would expect with a Hi-capa due to its lightened slide, and the 3.8 X even outpaces the other VORSK Hi-capa offerings! This is because of the combination of the shorter slide reducing mass even more, and the massive gas reservoir within the Hi-capa's full sized magazine providing ample propellant for all 28 rounds and then some! Like the other Hi-capas from VORSK, the 3.8 X features a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel, granting it exceptional accuracy for a pistol of this size. Whether it is for competition shooting or a skirmish sidearm, you can't really go wrong with a Hi-capa 3.8 X from VORSK!
