- Full metal construction
- CO2-powered - Winter-ready
- WWII-era 1911 variant - Old-school cool
If you're after a period-accurate WWII 1911 with intense recoil, the KJ Works M1911A1 GBB Pistol; CO2 Version should be in your sights. Boasting full metal construction and a Tokyo Marui-based internal build, the highlight of this retro 1911 platform is its incredible recoil, booming muzzle report and very impressive rapid-fire performance.
Most green gas-powered 1911s suffer from a small gas reservoir restricting their consistency under rapid fire, but we are happy to report that the KJ Works M1911A1 is exceptional in this regard, easily capable of competing with common Glocks and Hi-Capas.
Based on the real steel M1911A1, the 1911 variant issued during WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, this is the variant to go for if you're running a retro primary. Whether you collect classic sidearms or you need a skirmish-worthy 1911 in its retro, military-issue form, the KJ Works KP-1911 M1911A1 GBB Pistol; CO2 Version is a fantastic choice!

Description
Whether you're all about the classics or you're after hard recoil in an old-school-cool package, the KJ Works KP-1911 M1911A1 GBB Pistol; CO2 Version will put a big grin on your face. A full metal build powered by 12g CO2 bulbs, this 1911 kicks like a mule and handles cold weather in its stride, a big improvement over green-gas-powered 1911s.
The M1911A1 is the variant which served as the sidearm of the US Army throughout WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, an icon in firearms design which everyone recognises. Its intuitive shape and design practically defined modern handgun functionality, and when you've got one in your hands, it's easy to see why!
Starting at the front of the slide, we can find the front iron sight blade, which is a simple and fixed design, meaning no amount of bumping and shaking will upset the sight's alignment. The fixed iron sights are also period-accurate to the original M1911 and M1911A1, and given the age of the real pistol, we are lucky we have sights at all!
Moving rearwards, we can find the mock ejection port, through which the outer barrel is visible with its realistic .45 ACP engraved markings. The outer barrel has mock rifling inside, meaning no threads for a tracer unit but extra realism when it comes to using the M1911A1 for photoshoots and as a movie prop. The rear of the slide features serrations on both sides to provide a solid grip when cocking the pistol, regardless of the weather conditions.
On the left side of the frame, we can find the slide release catch, which has checkering on the upper surface to ensure it can be operated when wet or in adverse weather. Likewise, the magazine release is textured and is right where you expect to find it, well within reach of your thumb while shooting, on the left side of the grip.
The front face of the trigger also includes checkering and is a straight travel (aka straight back) design, similar to its descendant, the Hi-Capa. This allows for a consistent and accurate trigger pull, taking full advantage of the light and short pull of a 1911 trigger. The safety lever is on the left side of the frame and sits comfortably under the shooter's thumb, perfect for cocked and locked carry. This safety lever is of a period-accurate design, with no extensions or other modern bits, and works just great the way it is.
On the rear of the pistol's frame, we have what is known as a beavertail grip safety; a hallmark feature of the 1911. The grip safety allows it to have a super-short trigger pull and still be carried safely by disconnecting the trigger until the pistol is gripped properly. The beavertail safety ensures the trigger cannot be inadvertently pressed when drawing from a holster, which can be quite a painful experience!
Just above the grip safety, we come to the hammer, which is the appropriate "Spur" hammer design to match the real WW2-era 1911 pistol. The spur hammer allows you to cock the pistol by pulling the hammer back more easily, and while this isn't really useful for Airsoft, it is still great fun to play with and makes the KJW M1911A1 a great movie prop.
The polymer faux-wood grips have effective diamond checkering to ensure this pistol doesn't slip out of your hands during wet weather and are the correct shape and style for the old-school WW2/Korean War/Vietnam era 1911. At the bottom of the frame, behind the magazine well, we have a lanyard loop, an extremely useful feature that allows you to retain your pistol even if it slips out of your holster.
On the inside, the KJ Works M1911A1 is reportedly fully Tokyo Marui compatible, which is great news for those of us who cannot touch an Airsoft gun without upgrading it. Its CO2 power source provides intense recoil, far exceeding that of most GBB pistols on the market, helped along by its full metal construction.
The grip is cut for CO2 magazines (we recommend staying in brand and going for KJ Works mags), but it can also accept KJW green gas magazines, giving you a second propellant option if the rapid-fire performance and meaty recoil of CO2 is a bit too much for you!
A loud, proud piece of history in full metal Airsoft form, the KP-1911 makes a fine complement to an M16A1, Thompson, Grease Gun, M1 Carbine or M1 Garand for a retro USGI loadout. Whether you're running an old-school primary seeking a sidearm to match or you're after the hard-recoiling CO2 shooting experience, the KJ Works KP-1911 M1911A1 GBB Pistol; CO2 Version will do the trick!

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These tables can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable joule limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used at Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
