Maruyama MP-IX GBB SMG

Code: LG4034
£349.99
  • 6.05mm Tightbore inner barrel
  • QD Suppressor included
  • Updated rotary fire selector

If you're after a modern mag-in-grip SMG with a stunning rate of fire, the Maruyama MP-IX GBB SMG has your name on it. Made predominantly from high-density polymer with steel and aluminium trim parts, this GBB perfectly matches the real thing in terms of metal-to-polymer proportions, styled after the latest variant with its ambidextrous mag release and enhanced rotary fire selector.

In performance terms, this is a violent little beast, with an impressive rate of fire in full auto and an equally impressive 45-round mag capacity. Its ultra-light build tips the scales at a mere 1.4KG with the included QD suppressor, making it barely lighter than a pistol but with a significant firepower advantage.

While the included suppressor mounts to a unique QD muzzle device, we're treated to 14mm CCW male threading inside the suppressor housing, ready for a compact tracer unit. Whether you're cutting corners in the tight confines of a CQB site or seeking a high-rate-of-fire backup to pair with your sniper rifle or DMR, the Maruyama MP-IX GBB SMG is the right tool for the job!

Full description

Description

Starting at the front, we can find the unique QD muzzle device, made from robust steel to support regular mounting and removal of the included suppressor. The muzzle device mounts directly to the outer barrel, with no accessible barrel threading.

Fortunately, the suppressor itself contains 14mm CCW threading, which is accessible with the suppressor body unscrewed, ready for a compact tracer unit. The front of the suppressor features a multi-port aperture, providing an epic experience with a muzzle flash tracer inside. We recommend the Eshooter FLARE-M if you want to give this a go!

The suppressor mounts directly over the muzzle device; simply slide it on, position its integrated 20mm rail at the 6 o'clock position, and turn the suppressor body clockwise (looking from the front) to tighten it down. Having a 20mm Picatinny rail built in also allows the MP-IX to host more accessories than a platform its size deserves. We suggest adding a pistol-style tactical light like the WADSN X300 to this rail if you're a CQB guy!

Moving rearwards, we come to the receiver, made from rock-solid high-density polymer, just like the real thing. The front features an integrated hand stop and vertical foregrip, complete with linear gripping texture. The foregrip is set at a slight forward cant, providing a great way to keep the muzzle under control during full-auto fire without needing rail-mounted parts.

On the top of the receiver, the MP-IX is equipped with a 20mm Picatinny rail, ready for a red dot sight or scope. We recommend a T1-style red dot sight like the Vector Optics Maverick Gen.II for a clean look. At the front and rear of the rail, we have a set of low-profile aperture iron sights, which are a fine alternative to a red dot sight for those who want to keep their MP-IX as minimalist as possible.

On the right side, the MP-IX features a 20mm Picatinny side rail, giving you a conformal rail which doesn't upset the ergonomics of the build while being perfectly placed for a flashlight or aiming laser. The rail is mounted via Allen bolts and can be removed if you prefer.

Above the pistol grip on either side, we have the updated MP-IX fire selector switch, a rotary design which replaces the previous push-through selector. The rotary selector is easier to use with thick gloves and adds a manual safety mode, meaning those who can't keep their finger off the trigger can run the updated MP-IX with the trigger locked.

The magazine release is just below the fire selector, positioned just like a conventional pistol but with an extra release button on the right side for ambidextrous functionality. The grip itself is a straight design, as with most mag-in-grip SMGs, but features an ergonomic front and rear profile for improved shooter comfort.

The charging handle is at the top rear of the receiver, similarly placed to an M4/AR-15 and MP7, making for an easy switch if you're already used to either platform. To rack it, pull rearwards on the two textured tabs. Unlike the MP7, this charging handle can be racked with one hand from either side, great news for those who know their way around an M4/AR-15.

On the left side, we can find the bolt release catch, placed easily within reach of the thumb when the MP-IX is held in a firing grip. Pushing down on this catch will release the bolt when it locks back on an empty magazine. Pushing upwards with the charging handle held back will lock the bolt open for chamber inspection or easier mag insertion.

Accessible through a small port on the top rail, we have a TDC adjustable HOP-up unit, adjustable through the port using a 1.5mm Allen key. While it requires tools to adjust, the TDC HOP-up design is known for its direct top-down pressure on the HOP-up bucking, eliminating side-to-side shot deviation for improved long-range accuracy. The HOP-up lets you adjust the amount of backspin applied to your BBs, seeking the flattest possible trajectory.

At the rear of the receiver, we have a sling point designed for HK hook-style slings, positioned on the centre left, ideally placed for a single-point sling. The stock also features a similar sling point on the butt plate. If you find your sling hooks are too big to fit the slots, we recommend adding an Emersongear Sling Adapter.

The stock itself is a slim, skeletonised design with a minimalist butt plate to avoid equipment snags. In the shoulder, it feels remarkably good, with a more comfortable cheek weld than comparable sliding stocks and a firm, robust feel. To fold or unfold the stock, press and hold the button on the bottom right side of the folding mechanism.

When it's folded to the side, the stock can be locked tight against the receiver by pressing it in, conforming well to the shape of the vertical grip for improved comfort. When locking the stock in the folded position, make sure you check the position of the disassembly tab on the front right of the handguard area; if it's not at the top of its slot, the stock will not lock properly.

Joule Charts

Special Instructions

These tables can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable joule limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.

FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.

Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used at Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.

Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
