If you're planning on upping your game with an HPA build, the MechLabs XX-MOD Mechanical HPA Engine for M4/AR-15 AEGs is a great choice. Precision-machined from Series 6 aluminium, the XX-MOD is a drop-in installation in any M4/AR-15 AEG, adapting to various receiver types using its innovative 3-axis XYZ alignment system.
Being a purely mechanical engine, the XX-MOD doesn't require a battery, giving you one less thing to remember when packing for a game. This also makes the XX-MOD waterproof, and while we don't recommend doing an "over-the-beach" test with it, it can handle wet weather in its stride. Despite its mechanical operation, the XX-MOD still provides both semi-automatic and fully automatic fire modes thanks to its internal "auto block" and optimised burst management.
The most advanced mechanical HPA engine on the market today, the XX-MOD is ideally paired with a MechLabs ROTO HOP-up unit and is pre-fitted with a US Foster connector, aka a "quick fitting" for an HPA line, regulator and bottle setup. The MechLabs XX-MOD Mechanical HPA engine represents the next step in the evolution of mechanical Airsoft HPA engines, developed based on expert feedback from the global Airsoft community. A drop-in replacement for an M4/AR-15 AEG version 2 gearbox, the XX-MOD takes minutes to install and transforms your AEG into a versatile, high-performance HPA beast!
Also known as the "Double X-MOD" or simply "X-MOD", this advanced engine features a 3-axis XYZ alignment system, which allows it to be flawlessly fitted into practically any M4/AR-15 AEG receiver and aligned perfectly. With the vast tolerance variances between AR AEG receivers, this is a big advantage, avoiding the need for messy modification and janky Dremel work.
Made from CNC-machined 6 Series aluminium, the XX-MOD perfectly combines low weight and high strength, featuring a modular block design for easy reconfiguration and maintenance. Each of the modular blocks connects using a precision lock-fit interface, ensuring everything stays aligned regardless of how often the configuration is changed.
The XX-MOD is designed to connect seamlessly with the MechLabs ROTO Standard or ROTO Pro bucking-less HOP-up units, which thread directly into the front of the engine for perfect alignment and flawless air seal. It's also compatible with standard M4 AEG HOP-up units, though nozzle length will need to be adjusted.
The trigger is an ultra-light design which returns using magnets, eliminating the trigger spring, a known weak point and a fiddly part to work with. Its adjustable travel and sensitivity mean the trigger can be set up to suit a range of playstyles and preferences. In terms of style, the trigger is a curved design with CNC-machined serrations on the front, providing ample traction and a custom look. If you prefer a flat trigger, you can swap it out for a MechLabs Flat Trigger for XX-MOD engines.
One of the most advanced features of the XX-MOD is its optimised burst management and "Air Bender" rate of fire adjustment system, providing vastly improved air efficiency compared to other engines when shot in full-auto mode. This also improves shot-to-shot consistency, resulting in pinpoint accuracy downrange, even with long full-auto bursts.

Parts Fitting
Upgrades and Downgrades should only be undertaken by experienced players, or Airsoft Technicians. Please note, changing any internal parts of a weapon voids its warranty unless done in-house by our staff.
Please ensure that when fitting parts the part purchased is the correct part, as once a part has been fitted we cannot accept return.
We do know that players love to tinker, so we're here to give you help should you require it, and if needed you can get in touch with our workshop for more help!
Unique Parts
Please note that some parts may be unique to a specific brand of weapon. For example: Parts for an ASG M4A1 may not fit an ICS M4A1.
Parts from the same brand typically have a high chance of fitting, though be warned, some replicas use unique parts, so please ensure the part will fit before you attempt to fit it.
