ARCTURUS ARC FE™ AR-15 AEG

Modern rifles just do it better! The ARCTURUS ARC FE™ AR-15 AEG is a sleek assault rifle that comes in a carbine and CQB version. The carbine is the longer iteration of the two models. This rifle boasts a full metal construction and a pre-installed ARC FE™ ETU, providing programmable fire modes as well as trigger adjustments like sensitivity and reset distance. Starting at the front of the rifle, we can find the four-pronged flash hider attached to the outer barrel. This gives the front end a dynamic look which matches the sleek styling of the rest of the rifle. This flash hider is a refreshing change compared to the typical and overused bird cage, but if you want something else, the outer barrel has 14mm CCW threading, meaning most suppressors and tracer units should easily attach.

To the rear of that, we find the aluminium handguard. Its lightweight yet durable build makes the front end of this rifle strong enough to survive anything a skirmish can throw at you, but it doesn't feel sluggish to point or sweep between enemies. It offers a 20mm Picatinny rail at the 12 o'clock position as well as M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, with additional slots at offset angles.

The upper rail mates seamlessly with the receiver rail, allowing for optical sight setups of any length to be mounted, including red dot sights and magnifier combinations. As we come to the receiver, we can take note of its familiar M4/AR-15 style layout, though it does have some notable enhancements. The charging handle is located where we would expect, at the top rear of the receiver, but is an ambidextrous design which can be pulled from either side, offering easy access to the HOP-up unit for both left and right-handed users.

When the charging handle is pulled rearwards, the dust cover on the right side will open and the mock bolt will retract and lock back, revealing the rotary HOP-up unit within. The rotary HOP-up unit is the latest design for the M4/AR-15 AEG and is known for allowing finer increments of adjustment for more precise HOP-up application, and holding its setting for longer under the vibrations of full-auto fire. This HOP-up unit is paired with a steel 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel, a great combination for some precise shooting, straight out of the box!

Another hint at the real steel inspiration for this build comes in the form of the bolt release catch, which is used to close the mock bolt following a HOP-up adjustment. The fire selector is of the standard M4/AR-15 layout, with a 3-position selector switch located above the pistol grip on the left side, offering safe, semi-auto and full auto. The selector has a 90-degree throw between each fire mode, allowing the control to be used swiftly while minimising the chances of accidentally knocking the selector out of place.

At the rear of the receiver, we are treated to an ambidextrous sling plate which offers two sling points on the left side and one on the right. The sling plate is ideal for single-point slings, being constructed from steel allows the sling plate to take the weight of the ARC FE™ AR-15 easily, and provides confidence that the plate will never fail, no worries about accidentally dumping your gorgeous rifle into the dirt!

Following the sling plate, we come to the 6-position M4/AR-15 buffer tube, which is constructed from aluminium for a great balance of strength, realism and low weight. The lightweight polymer stock is mounted over the buffer tube and features a low-profile design, a rubber butt plate with aggressive gripping texture, an unobtrusive adjustment lever to reduce snags and a QD sling socket on either side, both of which are fully functional. The stock has 6 positions of adjustment, making it suitable for any body type or loadout, and has a hinged butt plate to allow fast access to the battery compartment.

The battery compartment is located inside the buffer tube. To remove the stock and access the battery compartment, you will need to hold the adjustment lever of the stock down and put an Allen key or similar tool through the small hole in the adjustment pin to hold it in the open position. With this complete, you can slide the stock off to reveal the Deans plug. For this platform, we recommend a 7.4V 1400mAh 25C LiPo Stick Battery.

On the inside, this ARC FE™ AR-15 AEG has many of the premium parts from previous ARCTURUS Limited Edition releases with an 18:1 gear set at the heart of its Version 2 gearbox. The steel gears run on 8mm ball bearing bushings for reduced friction and reduced stress on the gearbox shell, and the quick change spring guide is also constructed from steel and mounted on ball bearings to prolong the life of the spring.

The pre-installed neodymium 25K High Torque motor combines perfectly with the optical MOSFET and CNC steel gearset to give you a performance that will make you smile, whilst bringing the adversaries to tears! The optical MOSFET is the star of the show, offering a wide variety of programmable options, including multiple alternative fire modes, a two-stage "progressive" trigger and trigger sensitivity adjustment, to name a few. This is an advanced MOSFET to find pre-installed in an AEG, and we love ARCTURUS for giving us such amazing internals straight out of the box.

The MOSFET can also be set for pre-cocking and active braking and is fully user-configurable via the fire controls of the AEG, meaning no need for aftermarket programmers, connecting to your PC or phone or any other faffing; simply program your preferred configuration using combinations of fire selector movement and trigger pulls (a programming card with instructions is included in the box).
