The Military Knee and Elbow Pads set from EmersonGear provide heavily padded externally worn knee and elbow protection, with polymer reinforcement on the exterior. The pads are secured via one elastic strap and one nylon strap, allowing you a decent amount of flexibility when running and preventing the pads from slipping down. One of the best features of these pads is the extended section below the polymer reinforcement, which functions to protect your forearm/shin and help ensure your knee/elbow is protected should the pads shift. The polymer reinforcement on the outside also facilitates knee sliding, if you are the "showy" type!
