Description

Your Bolster Armouries ARKOSE DMR will require regular routine maintenance. See our Bolster Armouries Maintenance Guide for more information.

Bolster Armouries was founded with one primary mission: To provide Airsofters with a range of RIFs which has been fine-tuned to provide the absolute peak in attainable performance together with breathtaking external quality. Each of our replicas is hand-assembled by some of the most experienced Airsoft gun-techs in the industry and is built to an exacting standard.

Conceived with the modern Airsofter in mind, Bolster Armouries RIFs sport some of the finest internal and external upgrades available on the Airsoft market today, and are guaranteed to provide unparalleled performance. To underline their dedication to their products, every Bolster Armouries RIF is issued with a dedicated extended warranty and service package, ensuring you get the complete experience the creators intended.

The ARKOSE DMR was conceived by Bolster Armouries to fulfil the role of a Designated Marksman's Rifle (DMR), offering long ranged semi-automatic firepower to the experienced skirmisher who prefers to simply pick up the AEG and play, avoiding all the tuning, setup and troubleshooting which building an Airsoft DMR usually requires.

The ARKOSE is one of the few pre-built DMR setups available to Airsofters currently and is the only one which is pre-upgraded to the absolute apex of Airsoft performance. The ARKOSE is optimised for a super swift trigger response at its DMR power level, and is perfectly tuned for exceptional efficiency with reduced mechanical stress, resulting in a platform that is as long lasting as it is long ranged.

Inside the ARKOSE you will find the mighty Warhead Industries 36K Ultra High Speed motor,  the renowned GATE TITAN MOSFET and a selection of robust enhanced internal parts to guarantee the long term durability of the platform. To deliver the accuracy that any DMR worth its salt needs, a Prometheus Stainless Steel 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel is fitted and paired with the outstanding Pro-Win CNC aluminium HOP-up unit and Maple Leaf Macaron bucking with OMEGA nub, all carefully fitted by the highly experienced and talented technicians of Bolster Armouries.

To equip the ARKOSE DMR with the high quality glass it needs, the Bolster Armouries team have selected the VORTEX Optics Crossfire II 1-4x24 scope with the V-BRITE illuminated reticle: a real steel recoil-rated LPVO scope with a lifetime warranty and exceptional clarity, with the “short dot” style looks that fit perfectly with the DMR aesthetic. The Crossfire II is mounted with the VORTEX SPORT 30mm dual ring mount, guaranteeing a reliable zero and the ability to really make the most of the inherent accuracy in the ARKOSE platform.

Sounds impressive, right? It gets even better! The ARKOSE has been treated to a Cerakote finish in beautiful Vortex Bronze, providing a wear resistant ceramic coating with perfect adherence and a flawlessly smooth finish, giving it the Bolster Armouries custom aesthetic we all expect and allowing the ARKOSE to blend in well in practically any natural environment.

With the ARKOSE DMR, all of the boxes are checked, leaving you nothing else to do but enjoy the unparalleled performance of the platform in-game or on the range with a future-proofed setup that will dominate the battlefield for years to come.

If the mass-produced guns from other manufacturers are the equivalent of a Ford, a Bolster Armouries AEG is a Rolls Royce; crafted with care, to perfection, with the highest quality parts available and a distinctive external look leaving onlookers in no doubt that this is a Bolster Armouries custom AEG.

Bolster Armouries ARKOSE DMR

The base platform for the Bolster Armouries ARKOSE DMR is the fantastic Krytac War Sport GPR-CC, officially licenced by War Sport themselves. Like other Krytac AEGs, the GPR-CC boasts some of the best quality M4/AR15 platform externals available in the Airsoft industry.

The external parts retained from the original GPR-CC are the outer barrel, handguard, upper and lower receiver, buffer tube, sling plate and trigger guard; everything else has been stripped away to make way for the PTS and Magpul external enhancements.

The receiver and handguard of the GPR-CC are constructed from aluminium and finished with CNC machining technology to provide precise details and a high quality feel all around. The angled front end of the GPR-CC handguard gives the ARKOSE DMR a dynamic look, and its serrated lower front surface is intended to be used to dig into a barricade to provide a stable shooting position. This isn’t recommended as it may eventually damage the Cerakote finish but is a useful feature to have for those who want to use their RIFs as if they are real rifles.

The handguard includes both a 20mm Picatinny upper rail which meets the receiver rail seamlessly, and LVOA pattern negative space attachment slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions. The LVOA attachment slots are compatible with 20mm Picatinny rails for LVOA handguards, one of which is included with the ARKOSE DMR package.

The upper rail, being a “monolithic” style setup, is of ample length to add any mission-essential equipment you need, including laser aiming modules, tactical flashlights and even night vision monoculars, which can be mounted behind the VORTEX Optics Crossfire II with space to spare. Installed on the upper rail you will find Krytac flip-up aperture sights, which function as backup sights to the Crossfire II optic. In all likelihood, this scope won’t need any backup, but the sights look great on the ARKOSE and give the rifle the look of a completed package.

Being a long 14-inch handguard with an emphasis on weight savings makes the GPR-CC a great DMR handguard. The lengthy weight-reducing ports which punctuate the LVOA attachment slots keep this long handguard light yet functional, resulting in a very pointable package which is easy to steer between multiple targets and will be far less fatiguing to carry than most equivalent length rifles.

As we reach the receiver we can find a standard M4/AR15 platform layout with an ambidextrous fire selector, allowing both left and right-handed shooters to manipulate the ARKOSE efficiently and intuitively. The fire selector is a modern design with enlarged contact surfaces featuring linear serrations, guaranteeing you won't slip off the selector when skirmishing in wet weather.

The fire selector has three positions but being a pre-built Airsoft DMR, the ARKOSE fires in semi-automatic in both the semi-auto and full auto positions to ensure it is safe for skirmishing at its higher power level. Each fire mode is denoted with engraved bullet pictograms, lying in line with modern M4/AR15s and perfectly imitating the real War Sport GPR-CC. The magazine release is on the right side of the magwell, as it is with other M4/AR15 platforms, making for easy and intuitive reloads and reserving the right to carry out a “drop free” reload when time is of the essence.

On the left side of the receiver, we can see the delicately engraved War Sport markings through the Cerakote finish, proudly displaying the ARKOSE’s licensed War Sport brand pedigree. The War Sport logo roundel is present on the left side of the lower, with “WAR SPORT” engraved on the upper just above it, and an additional “WAR SPORT” with “INDUSTRIES. LLC” just below, all in their signature font. The real steel calibre, “CAL.5.56/.223” is marked below the branding, as it is with all real M4/AR15s, and the model is indicated below that, reading “MOD. GPR”.

The receiver matches the form of a standard AR15 receiver, with its mock ejection port positioned on the right side of the upper receiver, followed by a mock brass defector and mock forward assist with DEFIANCE KRISS trademarks. The right side of the upper receiver features a standard-shaped AR15 cam pin protrusion, staying faithful to the real War Sport GPR-CC. As both a perfect replica and a serious tool for skirmishing, the ARKOSE DMR has you covered!

At the rear of the receiver, we come to the ambidextrous sling plate which offers a sling attachment point on either side of the rifle to allow both left and right-handed shooters to carry the ARKOSE with ease. The sling plate is constructed from steel, guaranteeing that this critical part will never fail and cause your high end DMR to hit the dirt inadvertently.

Following the sling point, we reach the authentic Magpul PRS® Lite stock which we will discuss in greater depth in a separate section. The PRS® Lite mounts over the standard 6-position carbine buffer tube which also serves as the battery compartment of the ARKOSE. To access the battery compartment you will need to remove the screw closest to the receiver on the right side which also holds the QD sling socket on. With this screw and the socket on the opposite side removed, the entire PRS Lite stock can be slid off to the rear, revealing the battery compartment and the Deans battery connector within.

CERAKOTE Finish - Vortex Bronze

Cerakote is an advanced, hard-wearing, and corrosion resistant ceramic coating developed for industries ranging from automotive to firearms and aerospace applications.

Cerakote is offered in a wide range of finishes and is generally considered to be superior to anodizing when it comes to providing a custom finish for firearms. This is due in part to the high standards of colour consistency with a Cerakote finish, and that as a part of the process, anodizing creates a brittle and porous oxide layer over the parts, increasing tensile residual stress which can cause the finish to crack.

Cerakote does not affect the fatigue properties of aluminium and its alloys, making it ideal for Bolster Armouries RIFs. Cerakote has been extensively tested and has shown to be capable of exceeding military standards for corrosion resistance by over 40 times when subjected to a salt chamber test, even outlasting the commonly used Nitride finish used for the barrels of real rifles.

Cerakote Vortex Bronze is a dull umber toned dark flat bronze with a slight metallic effect, allowing the ARKOSE DMR to blend well with almost any natural environment. Vortex Bronze is named for Vortex Optics scopes and was formulated to match their ”Stealth Shadow” finish perfectly, and produces a result which is as effective in the field as it is aesthetically pleasing.

Vortex Bronze is a part of the Cerakote H series of coatings, which boast excellent wear resistance, chemical and solvent resistance, and superb adhesion. The Vortex Bronze finish is applied to the handguard, upper receiver and lower receiver, making for a subtle custom look on a rifle which can be effectively concealed in-game but will stand out in the safe zone for its perfect colour matching and distinctive overall design.

VORTEX Optics Crossfire II 1-4x24 V-BRITE

The extraordinary ASKOSE DMR warrants an equally extraordinary optic setup to bring out its true potential, and with that in mind, the Bolster Armouries team have selected the VORTEX Optics Crossfire II 1-4x24 LPVO rifle scope with the VORTEX V-BRITE illuminated reticle.

The Crossfire II features highly advanced multi-coated lenses to minimise glare and maximise light transmission, and the superb V-BRITE illuminated reticle, which has a super fine crosshair with an illuminated centre dot for improved low light performance and faster target acquisition. The result is a crystal clear optic which provides exceptional visibility both of the target and its surroundings.

The adjustment turrets of the Crossfire II are capped to prevent dirt, dust and water ingress, protecting the delicate internals of the optic and hardening it for the inevitably hard life of force-on-force use in Airsoft skirmishing. Removing the caps reveals the adjustment dials which can be turned without tools in case you need to make a quick adjustment mid-game.

Also built into the turrets is a fast reset function, which allows you to zero the scope and set the zero with the flat head screw in the centre of the dial, then make adjustments with the ability to return to the previously set zero quickly and easily. This is great for when the wind suddenly picks up and you need to compensate but you don’t want to lose your original zero. Consider this a “save game” button for your scope’s settings, saving you from having to re-zero your Crossfire II after a blustery day skirmishing in the windy outdoors.

The Crossfire II adjusts in increments of 0.1 Miliradians (MRADs), granting more than enough precision to get this optic zeroed to perfection, even on such a demanding platform as the ARKOSE DMR. When adjustments are applied the precise nature of the Crossfire II becomes apparent with its tactile clicks and high quality feel, setting it apart from the vast majority of other optics in its price bracket.

The magnification adjustment ring is located between the turrets and the “eyebell” of the scope, and is a radial adjuster with deep serrations in its surface, guaranteeing that you can make fast adjustments when needed to engage targets at both short and long ranges. This is essential in a “short dot” LPVO style optic as fast adjustments are what makes these sights so flexible and functional for the modern Airsoft skirmisher.

The illumination dial sits on top of the “eyebell” and provides 11 brightness levels for the red illuminated centre dot of the V-BRITE reticle, allowing you to set the brightness to suit any conditions, from bright sunlight to near pitch darkness and pick up the reticle quickly and engage with expedience. Unlike most illuminated scopes for Airsoft, the centre dot is extremely small and remains small when illuminated, pointing to a well-etched reticle which can still provide the prerequisite precision needed for DMR duty.

At the very rear of the Crossfire II, surrounding the ocular lens we can find the fast focus dial which is used to bring the reticle into sharp focus at any range of objective. This allows the Crossfire II to be set up to suit your own eyes to keep both the reticle and the target crystal clear. The dial also boasts serrations around its circumference to ensure gloved users can still operate it.

Many optics skip this dial, opting instead for a one size fits all solution, but this results in the reticle appearing blurry at certain ranges for most users and will hinder any well-equipped marksman’s performance. The Crossfire II gives you all the adjustability needed to keep the ARKOSE DMR on target and make the most out of its astonishing accuracy.

VORTEX SPORT 30mm Cantilever Mount

The VORTEX Optics SPORT 30mm Cantilever Mount is designed to provide a stable mounting interface for long eye relief scopes and provides the perfect height over bore for a flat top M4/AR15 platform. The mount centres the monotube of the Crossfire II riflescope to a height of 1.59 inches (40.39mm) from the base, placing it at the perfect spot for a clear view of your unfortunate target.

The VORTEX mount benefits from being designed for real steel rifles and has the exceptional build quality you just won’t find on replicas intended for Airsoft rifles, which are often imprecise, and more about the looks than providing a repeatable and reliable zero.

Having a high end mount is less important with your run-of-the-mill Airsoft gun as it simply won’t have the precision to take advantage of the tight tolerances present in a VORTEX mount. When paired with the VORTEX Crossfire II LPVO, the ARKOSE DMR absolutely requires a properly made mount to make the most of this high end optic setup and provide accuracy and consistency that is second to none!

A DMR is only as good as its optic setup, and without an extremely precise mount, the true potential of the ARKOSE DMR would never be realised. The use of CNC machining, exacting quality control and real steel certification is what sets the VORTEX mount apart, and being big fans of VORTEX when it comes to their own setups, the VORTEX Cantilever mount was a natural choice for the Bolster Armouries team.

PTS Syndicate Ergonomic Enhancements

The Bolster Armouries ARKOSE DMR has been equipped with a host of PTS Syndicate ergonomic enhancements to ensure it handles as well as it shoots.

The pistol grip has been replaced with the advanced EPG Pistol grip, offering a highly supportive design with a curved extension to help you maintain a comfortable hold and protect the web of your hand whilst manipulating the ARKOSE platform. This Pistol grip is constructed from Dupont Zytel, a high strength, abrasion, and impact resistant thermoplastic polyamide/nylon. With comfortable dot texturing on either side, and crackle texture on the front strap and backstrap, this grip is the perfect enhancement to ensure a player equipped with the ARKOSE DMR maintains a positive grip on the rifle in any weather condition, even whilst wearing thick gloves. The EPG follows a very similar profile to the popular Magpul MIAD and MOE grips for real AR15s, both of which have an excellent reputation for providing a comfortable grip which suits a wide variety of hand shapes and sizes.

The ARKOSE DMR has been equipped with a PTS Radian Raptor-LT charging handle, the latest iteration of the revolutionary Radian Weapons ambidextrous charging handle, now adapted for Airsoft use by PTS Syndicate. This charging handle allows easy access for both left and right-handed users due to its dual-wing design and functions identically from either side of the rifle. The charging handle is comprised of a 6000 series aluminium skeleton with a black anodized finish which is over-moulded with PTS' own custom reinforced polymer formula; known for its combination of high strength, low weight, and impressive durability.

The design of the Raptor charging handle allows the handle to be pulled with a single finger, thumb, or even the palm of your hand due to its serrated grip surfaces on the charging handle "wings" providing positive grip in any situation. The right side "wing" of the Raptor is slightly longer than the left side in order to clear the mock forward assist button found on the ARKOSE, allowing smooth operation with no snags for a left-handed user, or a right-hander who uses shoulder to shoulder transitions to make the most of the surrounding cover. Pulling the charging handle to the rear provides access to the Pro-Win CNC aluminium rotary HOP, which is accessible through the mock ejection port on the right side of the ARKOSE DMR.

PTS MK18 SD Quick Detachable Suppressor w/ PTS51T Flash Hider

To pair with the ARKOSE DMR AEG the Bolster Armouries team has selected the PTS MK18SD suppressor for its aggressive looks and advanced QD design. This suppressor is modelled after a widely used real steel design which is issued to US Navy SEALs for use with their MK18 and HK416 rifles, as its name suggests. The PTS MK18SD is constructed from aluminium with an anodised matt black finish and mounts to the ARKOSE via the PTS 51T tri-prong flash hider and its unique locking ratchet system.

The 51T flash hider is the same device found on modern SCAR rifles and is a tri-prong design with weight-reducing fluting on each of the three prongs to avoid adding excess weight to the front end and inhibiting manoeuvrability. The flash hider is constructed from steel alloy, guaranteeing precise engagement with the locking mechanism inside the suppressor, and allowing it to be added and removed frequently without any wear developing.

The suppressor locks to the flash hider via a large thread with a fine-toothed ratchet surrounding the collar of the device to secure it in place. To remove the suppressor all that is needed is to hold the release button down and unscrew the suppressor. The suppressor only requires a single complete turn to remove, making it one of the fastest and simplest QD mechanisms on the suppressor market with the added benefit of consistently locking in the same orientation every single time it is mounted.

The MK18SD suppressor also boasts linear fluting surrounding the rear section which is present to help disperse heat at this critical point in the real steel suppressor design. The fluting only adds to the menacing appearance of the suppressor, and pairs perfectly with its wide 40mm diameter ridged tube to set it apart from prolific and commonplace smooth-sided cylindrical Airsoft suppressors.

The PTS MK18SD weights a minuscule 284g, adding very little weight to the front end of the ARKOSE to keep its in-game agility and superlative handling qualities. The overall length of the MK18SD suppressor is approximately 6.7 inches, adding a manageable amount of additional length and a DMR aesthetic whilst maintaining the elegant balance and feel of the ARKOSE DMR platform.

Genuine Magpul PRS® Lite Stock

The Magpul PRS® Lite was designed based on the original Magpul PRS (Precision Rifle | Sniper) stock to offer a DMR-optimised adjustable stock in a lightweight format, allowing for greater mobility while retaining the majority of the functions which made the PRS® such a popular stock design.

Being constructed to military standards from rock-solid Dupont high density polymer, the PRS® Lite offers a wide range of adjustability in all aspects, allowing it to be set up for any shooter and any optic combination, offering comfort together with exceptional durability.

The cheekpiece is fully adjustable, offering 8 comb height positions at 0.1” increments to allow you to perfectly align your optic with your eye and benefit from a repeatable cheek weld, encouraging consistency in shooting position and thus, better accuracy down range. The cheekpiece can be adjusted all the way from flush with the stock to 0.8” above, allowing users of full face protection a little bit of extra space for an uninhibited view of the target through their optic.

Length of pull adjustment is also built into the PRS® Lite design, allowing the stock to be adjusted to suit any body type while also allowing for comfortable use with body armour. The stock can be adjusted between 13.85” and 15.25” in increments of 0.14”, offering less adjustment in length than a typical carbine stock but allowing for finer increments of adjustment for a more tailor-made feel, rather than a one size fits all solution.

For advanced users who want their DMR set up to fit them perfectly, the PRS® Lite also has an adjustable butt pad, offering height adjustment and cant adjustment via Allen bolts. The butt pad can be raised or lowered up to 0.75” from the centre and can be canted 5 degrees left or right; guaranteeing a perfect fit and maximum comfort.

The PRS® Lite has several sling attachment options built in; with a reversible rotation limited QD sling socket at the front, a 1.25” ambidextrous sling slot at the toe of the stock and an additional port at the rear for an optional second QD socket. The front QD socket can be easily swapped between sides using an Allen wrench, allowing for either left or right-handed use.

The sling slot, also known as a “Footman's loop”, is set up for strap style slings which can be installed on either side of the stock and paired with a front sling point. The Footman’s loop can also be used for a custom paracord sling mount for those who are concerned with potential rattle from using QD swivels giving them away as they stalk their prey.

If you prefer a quick release sling system, the QD socket on the PRS® Lite gives you that option. In the unlikely event that you want to put the ARKOSE DMR down, you can switch your sling over to an alternative primary weapon quickly and without tools. Being a rotation limited socket means you can confidently sprint with the ARKOSE DMR on a sling without the concern that the weapon will revolve uncontrollably and the sling will become entangled.

Internal Enhancements

The internal parts present in the Bolster Armouries ARKOSE DMR are hand selected for the high quality materials used in their construction, as well as for their exceptional performance. Each Bolster Armouries Gearbox is hand built, with each gear being perfectly shimmed for smooth operation, and the piston position also being corrected for the perfect Angle of engagement (AOE) to provide maximum efficiency and longevity.

The ARKOSE is locked to SEMI-SEMI on its fire selector, and shoots at approximately 392 FPS with pre-cocking set to high speed (20ms), giving it the range and response to contend with the absolute best at medium and long range. The gearbox is built around these DMR requirements to give the ARKOSE the strength needed to operate at the pinnacle of Airsoft performance.

This gearbox is matched with one of the most well-regarded steel tight bore inner barrels out there, renowned for its rigidity and high quality internal finish, coupled with the precision machined Pro-Win rotary HOP-up unit and the latest Maple Leaf Macaron HOP-up bucking and its enlarged contact patch for flat HOP like performance. Let's have a closer look at what goes into an ARKOSE DMR, and why these parts are so noteworthy:

Prometheus 6.03mm EG Inner Barrel - Stainless Steel

Improves accuracy - Enhanced Air seal - Click for more info

The Prometheus 6.03mm EG inner barrel is constructed from SUS 304 stainless steel (also known as SS304 or AISI304), with a chromium content of between 18% and 20% and nickel content between 8% and 10.5%. This choice of material not only gives the inner barrel exceptional rigidity, but has higher corrosion resistance than other stainless steel, aluminium, or brass used in other inner barrels.

This inner barrel was chosen primarily for its reputation as one of the best AEG upgrades money can buy, but also its precise dimensional tolerances which are guaranteed to be within 1/100th of a millimetre of the manufacturer's specs. This means we can confidently say your Bolster Arms ARKOSE DMR will shoot straight and true, as any DMR rifle should. This part also serves as a great way to increase the FPS of an AEG by a small amount without adding additional strain to the gearbox, simply by using the compressed air provided by the piston more efficiently.

Maple Leaf Macaron 50° HOP-up Rubber - Soft Rubber

Wear resistant -  Improved HOP-up effect - Click for more info

Maple Leaf has quickly risen to become the market leader in HOP-up rubbers and inner barrels, and the Maple Leaf Macaron bucking is no exception. Building on their experience with their superb Super and MR buckings, the Macaron is designed to extend the range of any AEG its installed in by providing a much stronger HOP-up effect, and works perfectly when paired with the Maple Leaf OMEGA Nub.

The design of the Macaron bucking features a narrower entrance to help the BB feed in a consistent spot with each cycle, and a contact patch with a refined shape intended to provide more consistent lift across the entire upper surface of the BB for greater accuracy than standard HOP buckings. The Bolster Armouries techs have selected the original rubber variant over the silicone variant as they found the original to provide a more consistent air seal and higher FPS in their tests. The HOP-up bucking is one of the most important AEG parts in a long range setup and the Macaron was a perfect choice to equip the ARKOSE DMR with.

Maple Leaf Delayer OMEGA Nub - Hard Rubber

Wide contact surface - Stronger HOP-up effect - Click for more info

The Maple Leaf OMEGA HOP-up nub is intended to be a mass-produced alternative to the home-brewed R-HOP and flat HOP modifications of yesteryear. This provides the kind of performance you would expect from a very well made flat HOP modification, but with no chance of potential jams and considerably less likelihood of failure due to its single piece design.

The OMEGA nub has a concave contact surface, shaped to match that of a 6mm BB perfectly, providing HOP-up effect across the entire upper surface of the BB, instead of just a single point in the centre. This provides excellent side-to-side stability and an increased HOP effect, extending the range of the AEG into the borderline implausible!

Pro-Win HOP-up Unit - CNC Machined Aluminium

Fine adjustments possible - Enhanced air seal - Click for more info

Pro-Win HOP-up units are another of those staple high grade internal components which have been serving Airsofters well for decades in their various forms. The unit inside the Bolster Armouries ARKOSE is a rotary design, providing a wider range of adjustment and improved ability to hold its setting under the vibration of firing when compared to the legacy gear HOP-up design.

The Pro-Win HOP-up unit is constructed from CNC machined Aircraft grade aluminium and is finished in an attractive metallic blue anodizing. You can pull back your charging handle to "pop the hood", and show off your Pro-Win HOP unit, and this awesome finish will definitely raise an eyebrow or two, marking your gun out as a custom piece.

This precisely machined unit provides unparalleled air seal, adding to the already vastly improved efficiency of the ARKOSE platform. When coupled with the Prometheus Purple HOP bucking, this unit improves FPS without adding more strain to the gearbox; a fundamental goal throughout the Bolster Armouries AEG project and especially important in the ARKOSE DMR.

Lonex Air Seal Loading Nozzle - POM Polymer

Low friction design - Internal O-ring for improved efficiency - Click for more info

The Lonex Air Seal nozzle is a marked improvement on the original Marui air nozzle design, featuring an internal O-ring to guarantee excellent air seal and consistent performance. The Lonex nozzle is made from POM material (Polyoxymethylene - also known as Acetal, Polyacetal, or Polyformaldehyde) which is a well known thermoplastic used in engineering applications requiring precise form with perfect dimensional stability, low friction, and high mechanical stiffness.

This nozzle is well regarded amongst Airsoft techs, including our Bolster Armouries tech team, and has found its way into the ARKOSE build after providing excellent performance in the ONYX and being practically bomb proof in their personal builds. As it is when putting the ONYX together, each nozzle installed in the ARKOSE platform has been measured with callipers and confirmed to be in spec (21.23mm long) prior to installation.

Lonex Cylinder head - CNC Machined Aluminium

Double O-ring configuration -  Improved efficiency - Click for more info

As with Lonex's nozzle, the Lonex Cylinder head has taken the original Marui design and refined it with improved materials, polished surfaces, and a reprofiled inner nozzle, allowing the loading nozzle to move back and forth with as little resistance as possible. The Lonex Cylinder head is CNC machined from a single peice of aircraft-grade aluminium, granting it the strength it needs to contend with the other high end parts in the high FPS ARKOSE DMR gearbox.

One of the most noteworthy enhancements in the Lonex Cylinder head is its double O-ring configuration, which is designed to provide excellent air seal, even when installed in a less than high quality Airsoft gearbox. This emphasis on efficiency and tight air seal means this goes even further inside a properly built gearbox like the one in the ARKOSE, and it falls perfectly in line with one of the Bolster Armouries' goals; to maximize the efficiency of the Airsoft gearbox, and in the ARKOSE, to provide accuracy and shot to shot consistency which is second to none.

Airlab Sorbothane Pad (70D Hardness) - 70 Degree Sorbothane with polyurethane pad

Corrects Angle of engagement - Reduces stress on the gearbox  - Click for more info

A Sorbothane pad (also known as a "Sorbo pad") serves the role of protecting the front of the gearbox from the impact of the piston head during cycling. This prevents cracks from developing in demanding, high strain gearbox setups by absorbing the intense shock from the piston head impacting the cylinder head under spring tension.

The material used, Sorbothane, is a visco-elastic polyurethane which provides superb shock absorption and sound dampening qualities whilst retaining its shape due to its elasticity. A 70-degree Sorbo pad was chosen by the Bolster Armouries team to provide the best compromise between shock absorption and shape retention.

The Sorbo pad also provides a secondary function; to correct the angle of engagement (AoE) of the sector gear in relation to the piston. This improves the lifespan of the piston by ensuring the piston and sector gear mesh properly and that undue strain is not applied to the very tips of the piston teeth. Also installed with the Airlab Sorbo pad is Airlab's polyurethane pad, which was devised by them as a way of increasing the durability of the Sorbo pad and preventing it from degrading after repeated piston head impacts. The Airlab Sorbo pad is manufactured in the UK.

Maxx Model CNC Hardened Stainless Steel Ported Cylinder Type C - CNC Machined Steel

Extremely tight tolerances - Polished inner surface - Click for more info

The Maxx model cylinder is machined from high strength stainless steel using CNC machining processes. To ensure consistent air compression and reduce friction, and thus wear on the piston, the Maxx Model cylinder is precisely machined to tight tolerances, with a high polish applied to its internal surfaces.

Having a high quality cylinder installed is another way the Bolster Armouries ARKOSE gearbox maximizes efficiency, squeezing every last bit of usable air from each piston cycle, giving you higher FPS without adding strain to the gearbox. The cylinder chosen for the ARKOSE DMR is the Type C variant, which is optimized for barrel lengths between 300 and 400mm.

Maxx Model CNC Aluminium Double O-Ring Bearing Piston Head - CNC Machined Aluminium Alloy

Enhanced compression -  Improved shot to shot consistency - Click for more info

The Maxx Model piston head is CNC machined from a single piece of aluminium alloy in order to combine strength with low weight, which are both essential characteristics for a piston head used in a high performance gearbox. This piston head is also a ported design, intended to enhance compression and work together with the other enhanced gearbox internals to get the absolute best efficiency possible out of the ARKOSE DMR platform.

The double O-ring configuration of this piston head helps prevent any air leaks between the piston head and cylinder, and the ball bearings within the piston head help reduce the strain on the part as it cycles under spring tension. A high quality piston head is one of the key parts installed to minimize fluctuations in FPS between shots.

Wide variation in FPS is, without a doubt, the main factor causing a lack of accuracy in Airsoft AEGs. With the Maxx Model piston installed, your ARKOSE AEG will have minimal variation in velocity, shot to shot. This makes for a consistently performing DMR replica that you can reliably use to get first shot hits, with accuracy second to none.

Gate Nova 2B1 Adjustable Trigger - CNC Machined Aluminium

Adjustable trigger travel -  Ultra-responsive trigger - Click for more info

The Gate Nova Trigger was chosen for the ARKOSE DMR to provide a precisely made and comfortable trigger which is as capable of pinpoint accuracy as it is of brisk double taps. The Bolster Armouries team went for the 2B1 style as this was the best match for the ARKOSE DMR aesthetic and is thoughtfully designed with bevelled surfaces to reduce finger fatigue after a full day of hammering the enemy with semi-auto, which is what the ARKOSE was made for.

The 2B1 has a gentle curve to it but is very close to a flat trigger in its profile, resulting in a great balance between comfort and speed. The front face is smooth with bevelled edges to keep things comfortable when rapid firing by removing "hot spots" which may cause discomfort over long durations, and the edges have stylish weight-reducing cuts machined in to keep the trigger light and give it a unique custom look to match the modern design aesthetic of the ARKOSE.

The Nova 2B1 trigger isn't just a pretty face, it also offers adjustable pre-travel and overtravel to allow you to set it up to suit your exact requirements. The Nova uses mechanical adjustment via two grub screws, one in the trigger body to adjust pre-travel, and one in the rear extension to adjust over-travel, offering a level of precision and adjustment that was unheard of before the Nova arrived!

Being able to adjust the travel distance of the trigger is a very useful feature for semi automatic DMR setups like the ARKOSE as it allows the trigger travel distance to be considerably reduced, and prevents you from wasting movement and time by pulling the trigger back further than it needs to go to fire the rifle. This feature is inspired by many competition-optimised real steel AR15s and accurised SPR and DMR rifles, and when set up properly is perfectly suited to putting down rapid and accurate semi-auto fire.

In a high performance DMR like the ARKOSE, the Nova trigger plays to its strengths and really brings out the best in the platform, giving it a light, short and swift trigger pull to match the incredible feats it can perform down range.

SHS Purple 15-Tooth Piston - Reinforced Polymer with Carbon Steel teeth

Low weight improves cyclic rate - High strength teeth - Click for more info

The SHS purple piston is comprised of two parts, combined to provide the best compromise between keeping the weight low, and the rigidity high. The piston body is constructed from fibre reinforced polymer, providing ample strength to resist the strain from rapid cycling whilst keeping the weight to a minimum.

The piston teeth which mesh with the steel sector gear are constructed from high carbon steel to provide the rigidity required for long term use alongside steel gears revolving at an incredible rate under spring tension. Despite its full steel tooth rack, the SHS piston weighs a mere 34g, keeping it well within the design parameters of the upgraded ARKOSE gearbox.

ASG Ultimate Milspec M125 Spring - Ferrosilicochrome with Zinc coating

Reduces strain on the gearbox internals - Corrosion Resistant - Click for more info

The ASG M125 spring is constructed from SiCr Alloy (also known as Ferrosilicochrome), with a zinc coating to discourage corrosion. This Alloy is well known for its use in manufacturing springs for the automotive industry and many others requiring static torsion loaded springs with high corrosion resistance.

The spring is a non-linear design, reducing strain on the gearbox by varying the coil tension over the course of compressing the spring. This means the spring design takes advantage of the points in the cycle of the AEG where the piston is in the best position to handle the high strain, such as the midpoint, whilst reducing the initial load on the piston teeth.

The Ultimate Milspec spring has closed and flattened ends which reduce wear on the piston, and minimize the chance of it failing. This particular spring was chosen due to its ability to reduce the strain on the internal components in the ARKOSE gearbox whilst providing the necessary velocity for a DMR, and its design which provides optimal performance with a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel.

Prometheus Krytac Spur Gear Spacer - CNC Machined Aluminium

Ensures a perfect shim job - Reduced internal wear  - Click for more info

The original Krytac steel gearset is equipped with self-shimming spring spacers on its spur gear, which reduces the need for complex and long winded shimming by attempting a "one size fits all" solution. This can be great for amateurs who want to upgrade their gearbox, as it removes the need to carry out the shimming process, which is one of the more difficult aspects of building a smooth running gearbox.

There are no amateurs at Bolster Armouries, and the main issue the Bolster team identified with this system is that whilst preferable to a bad shim job, the self-shimming spring spacers can cause additional rotational stress resulting in an increase in gear and motor noise, and long term wear.

The spring spacer originally inside the Bolster Armouries ARKOSE DMR has been removed from the spur gear, replaced with the Prometheus CNC machined aluminium alloy spacer, and shimmed to a professional level to provide an exceptionally smooth running gearbox, with reduced friction, minimal noise from the gears, and a motor running smoothly without any additional stress caused by sub-optimal meshing and horizontal movement of the gears.

ZCI Hard Bevel Gear - Heat Treated Steel

Improved Longevity - Reduced ARL Load - Click for more info

Strong gears are the core of any high performance Airsoft build, especially a DMR with its higher power level. While the ARKOSE retains most of the original Krytac hardened steel gears which are superb, the Bolster Team decided they could do better. Constructed from hardened steel with proper heat treatment applied, ZCI's Hard Bevel Gear was chosen primarily due to its 9-tooth configuration, which allows each tooth to be larger than a standard 10-tooth bevel and thus, far stronger.

The 9-tooth configuration adds 0.2mm to each tooth which significantly improves their strength, enabling the gear to more effectively transfer power from the Warhead motor through the gearset and to the piston. The ZCI gear was chosen over the Prometheus Hard Bevel Gear used in the ONYX as it reduces the gear ratio for slightly higher torque which pairs well with the stronger teeth in a high power DMR setup like the ARKOSE.

Guarder Reinforced Tappet Plate - Reinforced Nylon Polymer

Highly Durable - Perfect Nozzle Alignment - Click for more info

The Guarder reinforced tappet plate has the reputation of being the best out there by the majority of Airsoft techs due to its durability and precise build which encourages perfect nozzle alignment. The tappet plate is constructed from reinforced nylon polymer which has the perfect amount of rigidity without being vulnerable to sudden fractures under heavy load as a conventional polycarbonate tappet might.

This part was chosen for the ARKOSE DMR to add strength and give this essential part inside the best chance of withstanding the added stress a high strength spring and the powerful Warhead 36k Motor provides.

Gate TITAN Drop in MOSFET V2 USB link Advanced Set - CONFIRM SETTINGS

Improves efficiency - Provides pre-cocking function - Protects circuitry

Gate Electronics is well known amongst Airsofters for providing some of the best MOSFETs the Airsoft industry has to offer. These include the basic X-ASR which provides battery protection, the ASTER which adds GATE Control station App functionality, and the Gate's flagship option, the TITAN. The TITAN takes the already well equipped Bolster Armouries ARKOSE and transforms it from an extremely well tuned AEG into the realms of an advanced training weapon.

The TITAN provides a plethora of functions, and is pre-set by the Bolster Armouries team to provide the best possible performance with the ARKOSE DMR internal setup. A total of 8 optical sensors within the TITAN are used to track the movement of the gears, piston, and trigger to ensure the gears complete a full cycle with each trigger pull and the gears stop exactly where they should. With the optimal settings for the platform already programmed in the TITAN provides pre-cocking for an instantaneous trigger response and premium level functionality, including protection against over-discharge of your battery, short-circuits, and overheating.

Unlike other advanced MOSFETs, the TITAN has remarkably low power consumption and includes a "sleep mode" which activates when the ARKOSE has not been fired for some time. This protects your battery in the event that you forget to disconnect it after a skirmish, whilst other MOSFETS may drain the battery entirely over time, rendering the battery useless.

The settings programmed into the TITAN MOSFET by the Bolster Armouries tech team have been selected to provide the absolute optimum settings for the ARKOSE DMR platform. The pre-set configuration includes pre-cocking set to high speed (20ms), providing the highly responsive trigger which is essential for an Airsoft DMR. The fire selector has been preset to "SEMI-SEMI" to keep things fair and in line with skirmish site rules, and the trigger has been set up for no delay between shots, though if you require a "sniper delay" to use a DMR at your local site the Bolster techs can set that up for you, all you need to do is contact the team at bolsterarmouries@patrolbase.co.uk

Warhead Industries CNC Ultra High speed (M) Motor 36k RPM - CNC Machined 7075 Aluminium housing

Reduces heat build-up - Exceptionally high rate of fire - Electronic speed control

The motor is perhaps the most important part when it comes to providing extreme levels of performance in an Airsoft AEG, though with a faster motor comes the need to upgrade other internal components to prevent premature failure. In a home build, this often results in an "arms race" of parts so to speak, as whenever a part is upgraded it will require another part to be upgraded to prevent damage and maximize the AEGs potential.

The Bolster Armouries tech team is confident that their gearbox internals are the best available, and the only motor option that provides the speed, smooth running, and longevity to get the most out of the other enhanced parts would be the Warhead Industries Ultra High Speed motor. Known for their innovation and pushing the limits of Airsoft performance, Warhead Industries provide the best Airsoft motor around; utilizing the most up-to-date technology to provide a previously unheard of torque to weight ratio, and impressive heat dispersion.

The Warhead motor is housed inside a CNC machined 7075 aluminium shell with ribs machined in to reduce heat build-up within the motor, avoiding one of the primary causes of motor failure with their pioneering design. Utilizing "brushless" motor technology, the Warhead Ultra High Speed motor is considerably quieter than a standard motor, and uses superior quality Neodymium magnets combined with a hand-wound, temperature resistant copper stator wind to provide its incredible 36,000 revolutions per minute cyclic rate.

Conventional brushed motors suffer immensely from heat build-up when operated for more than 30 seconds continuously, due to the high internal friction generated. In a brushless motor, the main source of heat build-up is simply friction with the air which can be kept at a manageable level for far longer. With the Warhead motor installed, your trigger finger will get tired far sooner than your ARKOSE DMR will!

This motor also includes an Electronic Speed Control (ESC) module, which is hidden beneath a CNC machined aluminium cover at the base of the motor. This circuit controls and regulates the speed of the motor whilst providing low voltage cut-off and over-current-draw protection, providing an additional level of safety for your high performance Bolster Armouries ARKOSE DMR.

If you want to own an unbeatable Airsoft DMR but would rather avoid the extensive research, fitting and sourcing of parts, troubleshooting, tuning and setup, the ARKOSE DMR is the best option out there, and the only one which takes into account every aspect of DMR performance and gives you the very best internals money can buy.

We all love the idea of owning an awesome DMR and picking off the enemy at long range with absolute impunity. What many of us don’t love is the process of acquiring the knowledge, sourcing the parts, and sparing the time to tune and perfect a DMR setup, which is an order of magnitude more tasking than upgrading a sub 350 FPS AEG.

The high end parts selected by Bolster Armouries, together with their expert fitting and tuning provide the performance a DMR needs along with the reliability to keep it skirmish-ready at all times. The Bolster Armouries team have very much done their homework, and the Bolster Armouries 24-month warranty and service package included with the ARKOSE is a testament to their confidence in this exceptional platform.

With the advent of the ARKOSE platform, Bolster Armouries now offer the opportunity to pick up what is currently the only fully upgraded pre-built Airsoft DMR in existence, with a uniquely attractive custom exterior which will turn heads in the safe zone, and blend in during gameplay.

The ARKOSE platform benefits from experience gleaned over a very successful first year of operation for the original Bolster Armouries ONYX AEGs, making use of many of the same upgraded parts with choice changes to add strength and further enhance the accuracy and range of the ARKOSE DMR for its long range role.

Using a Bolster Armouries Airsoft platform is the closest you will get to "pay to win" when Airsofting; the range and accuracy of the ARKOSE DMR has to be seen to be believed, and its gorgeous custom looks put almost anything that came before it to shame! If you love seeing the enemy panic as they try to counter incoming fire from way outside their effective range, and get a great view of the mayhem through a high end optical sight as a bonus, the Bolster Armouries ARKOSE DMR will give you that opportunity, and change the long range game!
