If you're styling up your AK, the 5KU Zco Sport-1 Handguard for AK-74/AK-105 is the key to a slick, modern setup! Inspired by the real steel Zco Sport-1 handguard set, the 5KU version includes a lower handguard, gas tube cover and handguard extension, allowing you to take advantage of the modularity of the Sport-1 setup.
The "B-31L" gas tube cover features a skeletonised 20mm Picatinny rail at the 12 o'clock position, ready for a tactical flashlight, laser aiming module or forward-mounted red dot sight. The B-10L handguard and DL-1 extension include Zco's BASIS attachment slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, ready for BASIS accessories or BASIS rail adapters. As long as you have the B-10L handguard installed, the other parts are purely optional. If you prefer a minimalist build, you don't have to run the gas tube cover or handguard extension, though being made from CNC aluminium means they barely add any weight when installed.
Compatibility-wise, this set should fit most AK AEG and GBBR platforms with the realistic VFC/LCT build style, including CYMA CM.04x series, Specna Arms J series, Evolution "Hard Core" AKs, ARCTURUS AKs and S&T AKs, though in some cases modification will be required. A slimline alternative to more militarised Zco handguard designs, the Zco Sport-1 Handguard for AK-74/AK-105 provides a uniquely slim feel, ideal for skirmishers with modern ergonomic preferences. Inspired by the real steel Sport-1 handguard set, this 5KU version combines fantastic replicas of the B-10L handguard, DL-1 handguard extension and B-31L gas tube cover into a complete set, making an AK makeover more affordable than ever before.
Running along the top of the B-31L gas tube cover, we have a skeletonised 20mm Picatinny rail which allows tactical flashlights, laser aiming modules and forward-mounted red dot sights to be fitted. The sides and bottom of the B-10L handguard and DL-1 handguard extension feature Zco's unique negative space attachment system, known as BASIS. Similar in concept to M-LOK, BASIS allows you to mount BASIS accessories directly or add BASIS rail adapters to use 20mm Picatinny accessories. In its "naked" form, BASIS slots don't grate your hands like 20mm Picatinny rails might, meaning you won't need to add rail covers to keep the Sport-1 setup comfortable and ergonomic.
One of the unique advantages of the Sport-1 setup is its modularity, allowing you to ditch both the handguard extension and gas tube cover if you fancy a more minimalist look. Compatibility-wise, this set should fit most AK AEGs and GBBRs using the VFC/LCT realistic build style, but won't fit AKS-74U replicas. If your AK needs modernisation, improved ergonomics and more accessory options, the 5KU Zco Sport-1 Handguard for AK-74/AK-105 is essential!
