G&G Armament TR16 10.5" GMS MK.III GT Advanced M4/AR-15 AEG

This rifle is clearly based on the 416 style of platform; however, in typical G&G fashion, they have deviated from the standard shape in favour of a more unique platform. Just at a glance, you notice the chunky shape, and the proportions seem to match a 416 rifle, but on closer inspection, you will see that it is actually more unique than first imagined.

This rifle is not just good looks, though! It is part of G&G's new line of advanced AEGs, which boast a new V2 MIG (MOSFET Integrated Gearbox). This pairs perfectly with the GATE ASTER SE MOSFET/ETU, meaning your gorgeous rifle is an absolute machine as well as a work of art.

Starting at the tip of the 11" outer barrel, we are treated to a steel flash hider. It is somewhere between a three-prong and a bird cage flash hider and fits the rifle's style impeccably. If this isn't to your taste, you can remove it to reveal 14mm CCW threading underneath (undo the grub screw first). This allows you to mount a muzzle device of your choice, such as a tracer unit or suppressor.

Moving rearwards, we reach the 10.5" aluminium M-LOK Picatinny hybrid handguard. This boasts 3 M-LOK slots and short Picatinny attachment spaces on the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions on the handguard. Up top, there is a 20mm Picatinny rail that runs back to the 20mm railed receiver, creating a long section of attachment space for any optic setup that you desire. There is also a set of QD sling points near the rear of the handguard, allowing for sling setups.

The front iron sight is a fixed front post with "wings" on either side of it to keep it protected from accidental bumps. The sight is constructed from steel and is adjustable using an Allen key. This sight design is taken straight from the legendary G3 and MP5 platforms, offering the option to aim quickly using one of the wider apertures on the rear sight while offering 3 additional apertures for different engagement ranges. These sights are excellent but are also rail-mounted and removable, giving you the option to replace them with flip-up sights or remove them entirely.

The receiver should be a familiar sight to anyone who has handled an M4/AR-15 platform before, constructed from alloy and matching the 416 receiver style perfectly. This includes the mil-spec flat trigger guard, magazine release fence and raised upper receiver rail. The magazine release is on both sides of the magazine well, with a push-through design on the right, just like a standard M4/AR-15 AEG and then a lever-style release on the left.

The charging handle has an extended design, positioned at the top rear of the receiver, which can be pulled back to lock the mock bolt carrier back. This allows you to access the rotary HOP-up adjuster so you can fine-tune this AEG. To release the mock bolt carrier, hit the "ping pong paddle" style bolt release on the centre left of the receiver and enjoy the satisfying metal-on-metal clank of it closing!

The fire selector is of the standard M4/AR-15 layout, with a 3-position selector switch located above the pistol grip on both the left and right side of the rifle, offering safe, semi-auto and full auto. The selector has a 90-degree throw between each fire mode, allowing the control to be used swiftly while minimising the chances of accidentally knocking the selector out of place. Being equipped with the GATE ASTER ETU, these fire modes can be programmed with alternatives, from burst mode to binary trigger and more!

The pistol grip is a unique G&G design, boasting a grippy surface on either side and a low-profile palm rest that reduces wrist fatigue when shooting with modern techniques. It also has horizontal lines at the front, so your fingers don't slide up and down. Although it is a great design, the grip can be swapped out for any M4/AR-15 AEG pistol grip, an ideal feature for the customisation addicts!

At the rear of the receiver, we're equipped with the prolific M4/AR-15 buffer tube, a 6-position example made from alloy, allowing the pre-installed Crane stock to be adjusted to suit any body type or loadout. Sandwiched between the rear of the receiver and the buffer tube, we're also treated to an ambidextrous sling plate made from steel, ideally suited to conventional slings and those equipped with an HK hook. Its steel construction means this sling point is easily sturdy enough to support the weight of the rifle, even when decked out with accessories.

The crane stock itself features loop sling points just behind the adjustment lever. The battery compartment for this AEG is the buffer tube and the large sides of the crane stock. This allows you to fit bigger batteries than a standard stick one, so you can get extra game time without your battery dying. The battery compartments can be accessed through the rear of the stock, first taking off the butt plate and then the battery plug. For this rifle, we recommend an 11.1V 2000mAh LiPo Nunchuck Battery.

On the inside, the new  TR16 10.5" features the MIG gearbox with 8mm ball bearing bushings and a 25,000 RPM high-speed motor and throws them into a new reinforced gearbox. It keeps the replica performing well and reliably. G&G rifles are well regarded for their solid internal parts, which perform consistently even after many game days.
