- Full metal construction
- Real wood furniture
- Extendable bipod included
If you're into retro platforms and need something with presence, the S&T Armament M1918A2 BAR AEG fits the bill! An authentic full metal build boasting gorgeous real wood furniture with a beautiful dark finish, this BAR replica is a perfect match for the M1918A2 Browning Automatic Rifle, which served the US Army and Marine Corps throughout World War II and the Korean War until being replaced by the M14 in the early stages of the Vietnam War.
Internally, the BAR uses a unique gearbox shell with a similar shape to the V7 and a unique slider HOP-up adjuster similar to an AK HOP-up. While these parts are unique, the gearbox takes V2/3 spec gears and a V2/3 cylinder head, and the inner barrel, along with all HOP-up components, are TM AEG spec, ready to be tuned to your liking. Being an LMG, the BAR shoots in full-auto only and is remarkably quick in the rate of fire department, closer to a real MG 42 than a real BAR!
If you have an eye for rare, historic platforms or are into WWII reenactment, the S&T M1918A2 BAR will provide the experience you seek with its exceptional build quality and authentic handling. Perfectly suited to a US G.I. loadout but also a great fit for a Clyde Barrow-style 1930s outlaw loadout, the BAR will definitely please any retro firearms fan!

Description
For those seeking the authentic WWII experience, look no further than the S&T Armament M1918A2 BAR AEG! A beastly full metal build with flawless real wood furniture, this BAR takes authenticity to the next level, bringing the legendary walking fire machine gun to the Airsoft world with no holds barred when it comes to realism!
The Browing Automatic Rifle (BAR) was designed by the legendary John Moses Browning, initially serving with the US Expeditionary Forces in Europe to replace Chauchat and Hotchkiss machine guns, intended for "walking fire", which is effectively hip firing while advancing. The BAR was later mass-issued as a light machine gun, serving throughout World War 2, from 1938 until the early 1960s. A design made iconic thanks to its presence in Saving Private Ryan and Bonnie and Clyde , the S&T BAR is a must-have for any collector of historic firearm replicas!
Starting at the front, we can find the BAR muzzle nut, which holds the bipod mount onto the barrel. This device mounts to 14mm CCW male barrel threads, allowing alternative muzzle devices like a tracer unit or suppressor to be mounted, though be warned, this will upset the purists. While the muzzle nut is removable, it is required to secure the bipod mount, so tracer users will have to hit the gym extra hard!
The bipod mount itself is made from a combination of alloy and steel, with the ability to rotate 360° around the outer barrel, allowing you to cant the BAR when shooting prone on uneven ground. The bipod itself is supplied separately in the box, but all the mounting hardware is included. Each of the bipod legs can be lengthened by loosening the wing nut on each, tightening it down again once your bipod is at the correct length.
To install the bipod legs, simply align each leg with the corresponding cutout on the mount (adjustment wing nuts facing forward), position the steel plate on the top, then install the wing nuts (start with both installed loosely and tighten them down once both are indexed with the threading on the mount). We recommend removing the bipod mount from the barrel by unscrewing the muzzle nut before assembling the bipod: doing this with the mount on the BAR makes the job considerably harder!
Behind the bipod mount, we can find the front sight post, complete with the steel protective hood added in the WW II M1918A2 BAR. The front sight post itself is a flat blade set into a dovetail, just like the real thing. The steel hood protects the front sight blade against accidental bumps and scrapes, with a port on either side to allow natural light inside to make the front sight more visible.
Next up, we reach the mock gas block and gas tube, made from alloy and a flawless match for the shape of the real M1918A2. Mounted to the gas tube, we can find our first sling point, made from alloy and mounted via a steel ring. Both sling points are positioned on the bottom of the BAR, ideal for "infantry" style carry with a two-point sling.
Following the sling mount, we come to the real wood handguard, finished with a beautiful dark stain, which both provides the authentic look and feels fantastic. Each side of the handguard includes a finger recess for comfort, giving you plenty to hold onto when firing the hefty BAR from a standing position. Above the handguard, we can find the carry handle, made from real wood with a steel mounting arm. As it comes, the carry handle is positioned vertically, but you can set it at an angle to suit you by loosening the Allen bolts on the right side, rotating it to your position of choice and tightening it down once again. Being made from steel, this carry handle should easily handle the weight of the BAR and looks great as a bonus!
Behind the carry handle mount, the outer barrel profile widens as it meets the receiver, matching the barrel profile of the real BAR perfectly. The receiver itself is constructed from alloy, with the charging handle on the left side, mock ejection port on the right and rear iron sight on the top, nestled behind the receiver bulge included to facilitate the real BAR's locking shoulder in which the rear of the bolt locks when the bolt is in battery. On the real BAR, the locking shoulder is a separate replaceable piece, though this is not replicated on the S&T BAR.
The rear sight is a flip-up ladder-style sight, with an open notch functioning as a "battle sight" when the ladder is flipped down. With the ladder flipped up, we are treated to a fully adjustable aperture rear sight, ideal for landing those long-range shots. The sight can be adjusted for windage via the knurled thumbscrew on the right side of the sight base and for elevation via the thumbscrew on the top of the ladder. Sight range graduations go out to 1500 yards; though you may not be making hits with an Airsoft BAR at this range, the adjustments can still be used for lobbing shots beyond maximum flat range, allowing you to carry out area denial by creating a "beaten ground", just like a real support gunner.
Inside the mock ejection port, we can find the slider-adjustable HOP-up unit, accessible with the charging handle pulled and held back. An adjustable HOP-up allows you to tune the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and set the BAR up for different ammo weights and extend maximum range, adjusting until your trajectory is as flat as possible. The proven slider design is present in almost every Airsoft AK replica, an effective design which has stood the test of time. For those who upgrade every HOP-up bucking and barrel setup they touch, you'll be pleased to learn these parts are TM compatible and the inner barrel is an immense 500mm in overall length!
The fire selector lever is located on the left side of the BAR, offering three positions: SAFE, AUTO and more AUTO! The rearmost position is the "safe" mode, indicated with a recessed "S", and both the "A" and "F" positions provide fully automatic fire. The magazine release takes the form of a button inside the trigger guard; push this forward to release the magazine, but take care not to hit the trigger while doing it. The magazine itself is a 160-round wheel-wound high-cap mag, loaded by pushing it straight into the magwell, with no funky "rock and lock" to deal with.
Moving rearwards, we come to the stock, which is made from real wood with the same authentic dark stain colouration as the handguard. This stock is a "semi-pistol-grip" design, setting the wrist at a comfortable angle for prone shooting, and includes a flip-up stabilising brace at the rear, which works wonders supporting the weight of the BAR when shooting standing. The rear sling point is on the bottom of the stock, making the BAR ready for a two-point sling.
The battery compartment is inside the stock, requiring the screw on the top and the screw on the butt plate itself to be removed to access it. With the screws removed, you'll find an impressively large battery compartment with a mini-Tamiya battery connector inside. We recommend a 7.4V 2600mAh LiPo battery to take advantage of the wealth of space; though it may be more of a hassle to get to the battery in the BAR than modern M4s, you have the chance to run a battery which will definitely last the full skirmish day!
Inside, the S&T BAR is based around a unique gearbox shell, a similar shape to the version 7, but with a squared-off, reinforced front end. The motor type is a short shaft, and the gears are a standard V2/3 compatible 18:1 set, as is the cylinder head. The inner barrel is of a standard 6.08mm bore but is a whopping 500mm in overall length, exactly what an LMG needs to get those BBs out to long range.
If a hefty and authentic historical LMG will be your next buy, the S&T M1918A2 BAR AEG is the ideal choice! A flawless external build which provides a realistic feel and experience you won't forget, the S&T BAR is definitely a primary with presence and a great way to bring some history to the skirmish field!

Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
