Description
Sig Air's fantastic MCX is truly an incredible piece, but having a 12-inch barrel makes it more of a mid-range platform, at least in Airsoft terms. The Laylax Short Handguard set gives you the opportunity to shorten the MCX down for CQB duties, in the spirit of the more compact MCX variants available in the real steel world.
Like the original handguard, Laylax's replacement boasts M-LOK compatibility, with slots available at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions punctuated by weight-reducing ports which keep the original MCX aesthetic. The handguard is constructed from CNC machined aluminium, granting a perfect combination of low weight and strength, making it perfect for clearing those tight corners in your local CQB skirmish site.
The outer barrel is approximately 6.5 inches in length and has 14mm CCW male threads at its tip, making it perfect for hosting a suppressor or tracer, or simply cutting down on length to give your MCX a new look and some extra CQB functionality. The gas block attaches to the barrel using a grub screw in its base but can be left off entirely if you are less concerned with realism and want a bit more battery space. Laylax recommends a 7.4V 1200mAh LiPo battery for a good fit inside the handguard, though you always have the option of going for something bigger and hiding it in a PEQ battery box.
So, if you want to turn your MCX "dong" into a "ding", this is the kit you will need. Size does matter in CQB, and the shorter the better!
