  • Full metal construction
  • GBBR - Super realistic recoil & controls
  • Ambidextrous charging handle, selector & mag release

If you feel the need for recoil, realism and a truly immersive firing experience, a GBBR is what you want! The Golden Eagle 14.5" M4/AR-15 Rifle MC6591M GBBR is based on the Western Arms/G&P WOC GBBR system but uses AEG inner barrels and HOP-up rubbers, making sourcing upgrades far easier than the original. The MC9561M also boasts full metal construction, a realistic manual of arms and absolutely ferocious recoil with each shot, making it the ideal next step for those who are tired of AEGs and want a more challenging skirmish experience.

On the outside, the MC6591M is dressed to impress, rocking an M-LOK handguard, ergonomic pistol grip and a fully redesigned receiver with a refined magazine well angle, extended and ambidextrous controls, anti-rotation pin links and an enlarged trigger guard. While it may be mass-produced in a factory, this thing looks like it is straight out of a high-end American AR custom shop!

Description

If you originally got into Airsoft for the realism, the next step is a Gas Blowback Rifle. This type of platform uses a realistic manual of arms, meaning you need to load the first round by racking the charging handle, experience heavy recoil when shooting and when the mag runs dry, the bolt locks back, ready for you to reload and hit the bolt catch to get shooting again. Obviously, this makes skirmishing with a GBBR rather challenging, but the rewarding firing experience is like no other!

The Golden Eagle 14.5" M4/AR-15 Rifle MC6591M GBBR is based on the Western Arms GBBR system but has been enhanced with a steel hammer, steel bolt catch, a 6.02mm tightbore inner barrel and AEG inner barrel/HOP-up rubber compatibility. On the outside, the MC6591M is already kitted out like a custom piece and boasts a unique receiver design, lightweight and agile M-LOK forend and an aggressive multi-port muzzle device, making it stand out for more than just its jaw-rattling recoil!

Starting at the tip of the barrel, we can find an alloy muzzle brake retained by a grub screw, providing a modern and aggressive look to the business end of the rifle. The muzzle brake can be easily swapped for a suppressor, tracer unit or an alternative muzzle device of your choice thanks to the common 14mm CCW male threads at the tip of the alloy outer barrel. The outer barrel is 14.5 inches in overall length, making this a fantastic platform for outdoor use but still usable in all but the most cramped CQB sites.

The 12.5-inch handguard follows shortly after the muzzle device, boasting M-LOK attachment slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, with attractive hexagonal vents along the top along with short lengths of 20mm Picatinny rail at the front and rear. The use of M-LOK allows the most modern accessories, vertical foregrips and rail covers to be directly mounted, but if you have 20mm accessories you prefer you can still mount them using 20mm rail adapters for M-LOK.

The 20mm Picatinny rail sections at the front and rear of the handguard serve to provide a space for the included flip-up iron sights to be installed and lengthen the receiver rail, providing plenty of attachment space for longer optical sights, PEQ laser units, and Red dot and magnifier combos. The iron sights themselves function as both open light enhancing iron sights, perfect for low light situations, and standard rifle height aperture sights when flipped up. To deploy the sights, simply press down on the tabs on either side of each sight, after which each will pop up under spring tension. When flipped up, the aperture configuration is fully adjustable for both windage and elevation.

The rotary HOP adjuster can be found on the underside of the outer barrel and is accessible when the M-LOK handguard has been removed, or through the ports on the bottom of the handguard using a small tool. Unlike the original Western Arms M4A1 GBBR on which it is based, the HOP-up unit of the Golden Eagle MC6591M is compatible with AEG spec HOP-up rubbers and inner barrels. This makes upgrading super easy compared to sourcing WA spec parts; a lovely touch from Golden Eagle that shows they care!

The receiver of the MC6591M is a radical departure from every other AR out there, with a unique redesign of the AR receiver silhouette and extended ambidextrous controls. The magazine well angle has changed completely, with plenty of material removed from the standard AR receiver resulting in a light and agile feel and a dynamic, modern look.

Surrounding the fire selector there is even more weight reduction in the form of recesses in the receiver design, keeping unnecessary material to an absolute minimum. A nice touch of realism adding to the custom looks is the inclusion of what are known as anti-rotation pin links. These join the two pins which hold the trigger group parts in place and prevent them from walking out or rotating under recoil.

All of the controls on the MC6591M are either extended, ambidextrous, or both. The magazine release is positioned on either side of the magazine well, and both buttons are absolutely massive, meaning you will never miss the magazine release in the heat of a firefight. The lowermost section of this see-saw-style lever can also be pressed down when the charging handle is held back to lock the bolt in the open position.

The fire selector is also enlarged and positioned on either side, making it easy to use for both left and right-handed shooters and giving those who use shoulder-to-shoulder transitions the enhancements they need to make the best use of surrounding cover in CQB. Like the real AR15, this rifle cannot be placed on SAFE when the hammer is not cocked, so if you want to put your rifle on safe, please do not force the selector switch; if it won't move the rifle probably isn't cocked. The 90-degree throw of the standard AR selector remains, but otherwise, this selector is a massive step up, and far easier to use in wet weather or when wearing thick gloves.

The charging handle is found at the top rear of the receiver, as we might expect, but those who aren't familiar with GBBRs may not expect this needs to be pulled to load the first BB in, just like a real AR. The charging handle is also ambidextrous and can be actuated from either side, fitting in nicely with the other ambi controls on the MC6591M.

On the left side of the receiver, smack bang in the centre we have the bolt release catch which is significantly enlarged when compared with the standard AR ping pong paddle-style catch and also has pyramidal texture on the surface. The bolt catch is what holds the bolt back when you have fired your last BB, and also allows the bolt to be returned to battery after inserting a fresh magazine. The enlarged nature of the bolt catch makes reloads much easier, especially in low light, allowing you to slam a magazine home and hit the catch like a pro, even if you are shaking with adrenaline!

Being a GBBR, the receiver does not contain a gearbox, meaning it is practically 1:1 scale with the real thing. This results in a slim feel to the rifle, and a positively skinny pistol grip, marking this out as a GBBR and making it genuinely hard to distinguish from a real AR. Obviously, this doesn't make it better or worse for skirmishing, but if you are like us and appreciate attention to detail and faithfulness to the real article, you will feel a strange sense of satisfaction handling this bad boy.

Another hint that this is a GBBR can be seen when you check out the bolt carrier through the ejection port on the right side. This carrier is far more detailed than the mock bolt plates present in AEGs and is one of those details which really elevates GBBR replicas above all others when it comes to realism.

Built into the receiver we have an enlarged and weight-reduced trigger guard, improving strength when compared to the standard AR modular trigger guard setup while adding minimal excess weight. The trigger guard has plenty of room inside for full-finger gloves, so you don't need to risk your digits in game, even if you have sausage fingers!

The pistol grip of the MC6591M is an ergonomic design with deep texture on its surface along with thumb ledges on each side, providing a comfortable feel for most hand sizes. The grip is also realistically sized and is compatible with any pistol grip for the WA or G&P GBBR system, and real AR15 grips with minor modification. The polymer used for the grip is nice and thick, with a high quality surface texture and no movement or flex whatsoever.

At the rear of the receiver, we can find a 6-position M4/AR-15 buffer tube, with a Crane stock mounted to it. This buffer tube is compatible with any aftermarket M4/AR15 stock designed for an AEG, as well as real steel stocks designed for "Milspec" buffer tubes. The receiver is closed off with a plain receiver plate, but this can be replaced with sling plates designed for the Airsoft GBBRs. Please note; AEG sling plates are not compatible with this rifle.

The crane stock mounted on the MC6591M has a low profile adjustment lever, reducing the chances of a snag, and features QD sling points on either side, which can be used together with an M-LOK or 20mm Picatinny sling mount (not included) to attach a 2 or 3 point sling. The butt plate is rubberized, and features deep linear checkering to ensure the rifle stays firmly in your shoulder under the intense recoil forces of this GBBR, regardless of inclement weather!

The MC6591M is based on the Western Arms GBBR design, the original GBBR; widely regarded by many as the most realistic GBBR system out there. The rifle's fire control parts are a spitting image of the real AR, even down to the shape of the hammer itself. While we're on the subject of the hammer, you will be pleased to know it is made from steel, saving you money on upgrading one of the high-wear parts of this internal system.

The bolt carrier is realistically sized and packs plenty of weight, giving this rifle its jaw-rattling recoil. One of the weaknesses of GBBRs in general tends to be their bolt catch, which eventually wears away and stops functioning. Golden Eagle has seen to this, by providing a steel bolt catch straight out of the box. This GBBR is compatible with Western Arms magazines, G&P WOC magazines and any other GBBR magazine designed for the WA system, although it will work best with Golden Eagle branded magazines.

With an external look that stands out amongst other AR platforms and the most immersive firing experience Airsoft can offer, the Golden Eagle 14.5" M4/AR-15 Rifle MC6591M GBBR is perfect for those who seek heightened realism and a more challenging playstyle. With low-capacity mags, a complex but realistic manual of arms and jarring recoil with each shot, you will have to work hard to get as many kills with this as you would with an AEG, but for the real pros, nothing beats the satisfaction of winning from a position of disadvantage!

Special Instructions

This is a Gas Blowback Rifle. GBBRs require maintenance and careful handling and we do not recommend them for new skirmishers. Things to watch out for if this is your first GBBR:

  • The rifle cannot be put into "Safe" mode without first being cocked. Generally, the best way to store a GBBR is with the magazine removed, the rifle uncocked and the fire selector set to "semi".
  • The HOP-up adjuster for this WA system GBBR is on the outer barrel and is accessible with the handguard removed or using a small tool through the handguard ports.
  • GBBRs need to be cocked before the first shot, just like a GBB pistol. It is important that you do not double load a GBBR as this can break the nozzle. We recommend clearing the chamber of BBs with a cleaning rod in the event that you finish firing mid-magazine and the bolt does not lock back and show an empty chamber.
  • GBBRs generally use higher pressure gas than GBB pistols due to the extra weight of the bolt. We recommend Green Gas (NUPROL 2.0, VORSK V6, ASG Ultraair) for general use and Red Gas (NUPROL 3.0, VORSK V8) for cold weather use.
  • The faster you shoot a GBBR, the less accurate it will be. This is due to pressure variance as the gas reservoir cools down. Full auto is basically for fun, and these rifles run far better when used in semi-auto mode.
  • Like a GBB pistol, GBBR magazines require maintenance. We recommend leaving a small amount of gas inside the magazine when stored, and not storing the magazines in a cold or damp environment. Magazine seals and valves will need lubrication and to be kept clear of dust and debris.
