The loader is filled via its fill window at the top and the thumb plunger can be deployed and stowed via the button on the side.

To load an Airsoft mid-cap or low-cap, simply fill your speed loader, align the fill/feed port of the magazine with the aperture on the bottom of the loader, hold the mag and loader together and push the thumb plunger repeatedly until it becomes firm.
