If you have plans to upgrade an SMG-5 to shoot like a laser beam, with the rate of fire of a minigun, why bother doing all the legwork and fine-tuning yourself? The Bolster Tuned CM.041 SMG-5 Upgraded AEG; Warhead Edition is the latest generation of the well-received Bolster Tuned CM.041 series, put together by the same team that built the ultra-high-end Bolster Armouries ONYX AEG series and benefits from all the experience and expertise gained from a lifetime of Airsoft tech work and several successful Bolster Tuned AEG drops.

This new generation of Tuned SMG-5 is rocking a Warhead 27K Brushless Motor, Bolster Armouries EZO bearings, Replacing the basic CYMA ETU, we have the space-aged Gate ASTER™ II ETU, offering a wealth of programming options and equipped with the latest EXPERT Firmware. The HOP-up has been modified with Bolster Armouries HOP-up screws for better air seal and setting retention and a Prometheus  purple hop rubber was added to extend the range out to 60 meters and beyond. An FPS Softair Carbon Fibre Reinforced Tappet Plate ensures reliable feeding with the powerful Warhead brushless motor and an SHS Hardened Steel D Type Pinion Gear was added to cope with the higher levels of torque and speed. Unlike other custom Airsoft gun services, Bolster Tuned platforms are all pre-built and ready to ship the next day with no lead time!

A lot of extra work was put in to refine the mass-produced CYMA gearbox and make it run like a Bolster. The inner surfaces of the gearbox have been polished for reduced friction and modified to house the ASTER™ II ETU. The angle of engagement has also been corrected, meaning 11.1V LiPo's are a go for the upgraded CM.041 so you can hose the enemy down with a torrent of BBs like a fireman hoses a blaze.

With upgrades added and work done, the price has increased, but by a far smaller margin than it would if you took a stock CM.041 to a technician and paid for this amount of work to be done. Finally, we can pick up and play with an exceptionally well-built AEG with all the fine-tuning necessary for exceptional performance already complete, and done with care, to an exacting standard.

When we tested the Warhead Edition we were absolutely stunned; it's even faster than the original Tuned CM.041! 330 FPS on the dot with remarkable consistency, 60m+ effective range and an absolutely scary rate of fire of 27 rounds per second; more than enough to outshoot anything else you can buy off the shelf!

The sneaky counterpart to the Bolster Tuned CM.041 upgraded SMG-5 AEGs has returned and it's better than ever! Enter the CM.041 SD5 SMG-5 Upgraded Edition; a full metal SMG-5 SD5 replica built by the same team behind the ultra-high-end Bolster Armouries AEG series and previous Bolster Tuned AEGs.

As with its less discrete brethren, the first thing the Bolster Armouries team do with the CM.041 SD is to tear it to pieces and build it back up to fulfil its true potential. Inside, you'll find a Gate ASTER™ MOSFET paired with the Gate QUANTUM™ CNC trigger, offering over 470 trigger sensitivity adjustment options along with the usual advanced ASTER features. The standard ball bearing bushings have been swapped out for Bolster Armouries EZO Bearings for a longer lifespan and an FPS Softair Carbon Fibre Reinforced Tappet Plate ensures reliable feeding and the strength to handle the high power main spring.

To get your BBs way out there and onto target, a Tru-Hop Gen.3 HOP-up bucking paired with a Maple Leaf OMEGA nub was installed, giving you impressive accuracy for a high first-round-hit probability. The Warhead 45K Base Brushless Motor and a Laylax EG 18:1 Hard Gear Set provides the durability, torque and heat dissipation qualities for peak efficiency, shocking trigger response and a long lifespan of reliable performance.

This Upgraded AEG has been built and tuned by the expert technicians at Bolster Armouries and features the incredible Gate ASTER II MOSFET, Warhead Brushless 27K Base Motor, 4UANTUM Friction Pro High-Performance Hop-Up Bucking, an extended 260mm 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and an enhanced Type D cylinder from FPS Softair.

Not content with simply dropping parts in, the Bolster team has carried out a professional shim job, a complete gearbox rebuild, reapplication of high quality lubricants and a HOP-up unit modification to maximise efficiency and consistency. The result of this extensive tuning and parts replacements is an AEG we can confidently say will hit out to 60m + accurately with 0.28g BBs and rip off rounds at an astonishing 25 rounds per second with an 11.1V LiPo battery.

As with other Bolster Tuned/Patrol Base Custom platforms, if this high benchmark for performance is not met, the AEG goes back to the workbench for more work and won't be sold until it meets the teams' lofty standards. If you always wanted an MPX but you want it to shoot as good as it looks, this is the one to go for! The Bolster Tuned Sig Sauer MPX Upgraded AEG is based on the SigAir MPX but has all the creases ironed out, and is thoroughly upgraded on the inside with some of the best parts in the business.

Inside, you will find the phenomenal Gate TITAN MOSFET making its first appearance in a Bolster Tuned build, providing exceptional trigger response and rate of fire while adding a plethora of customisation options and eliminating the potential of trigger contact corrosion. The Laylax Prometheus Purple HOP-up Rubber and Nub makes an appearance, as we might expect, and the usual Bolster Tuned internal polish and expert shimming process has also been carried out, with phenomenal results.

The highly regarded PTS EPG Pistol Grip has also been added to set the Warhead at the perfect angle, not to mention enhance ergonomics. The stock gearbox shell was found to be woefully inadequate for Bolster Tuned performance parameters; as such, the team based the internals around the CYMA Platinum Complete V2 Gearbox, upgrading the usual parts and only keeping the best bits. Inside, the stock piston head was swapped out for the Gate EON Power Hybrid Piston Head, the tappet plate was upgraded with the FPS Softair Carbon Fibre Reinforced Tappet Plate

To ensure you get the accuracy and range Bolster Tuned platforms are renowned for, the team switched out the stock gear HOP-up unit with the Novritsch Polymer Rotary HOP-up unit and added the 4UANTUM Friction Pro High Performance AEG HOP-up Bucking to seal the deal. The stock 6.08mm inner barrel has also been swapped out for a KRYTAC 6.05mm Tightbore Inner Barrel, chosen for its high-quality internal finish and wide HOP-up window, ideally suited to the 4UANTUM bucking.
