Made from strong yet lightweight PA66 Nylon reinforced polymer with an aluminium outer barrel and buffer tube, this beginner-friendly build is packed with pre-upgraded parts, making it competitive both in the tight confines of CQB and stretching its legs at an outdoor woodland event.

Inside, the LWT MK-I is based around a reinforced version 2 gearbox with an alloy shell, steel 18:1 ratio gears, a quick change spring system for easy power tuning and a high torque motor so you can pump out semi-auto shots at a rapid pace. The icing on the cake is the SE™ programmable MOSFET/ETU system, offering customisable fire controls including 3-round burst and binary trigger, along with several quality of life features to ensure you get the best shooting experience. Starting at the front, we can find a polymer birdcage flash hider mounted to the 14mm CCW male threading at the tip of the aluminium outer barrel. The birdcage is the standard M4A1 flash hider and suits practically any M4/AR-15 platform, but can be removed and swapped out for a tracer unit, suppressor or alternative flash hider. The flash hider is held on by a grub screw; make sure you remove this before attempting to unscrew it.

Almost immediately following the flash hider, we come to the handguard, a unique ARCTURUS M-LOK/20mm Picatinny hybrid design inspired by cutting-edge designs from the real steel world. Running along the top, we have a full-length 20mm Picatinny rail which meets the receiver rail seamlessly, allowing for red dot sights, scopes, lasers and tactical flashlights to be positioned wherever you need them. M-LOK slots are present at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, with additional slots at offset angles to provide ultimate flexibility in positioning your mission essentials.

Next up, we reach the receiver, which has a standard M4/AR-15 layout, with the fire selector on the left side and the magazine release on the right side of the magazine well. The fire selector has 3 positions with a 90-degree throw between each, clicking positively into place with minimal chance it will get knocked out of position. The magazine release is the standard AR push-through design with a textured button, ideal for wet-weather use, offering drop-free functionality with the included adjustable capacity magazine so you can reload in a jiffy!

The charging handle is located at the top rear of the receiver, a milspec low-profile design matching that of the real M4A1 rifle. Pulling the charging handle will pop open the dust cover and retract the mock bolt carrier, revealing the rotary HOP-up dial inside the ejection port. The HOP-up allows you to vary the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and extend range or tune for different ammo weights. This is the latest HOP-up unit design for the M4/AR-15 and provides finer increments of adjustment and holds its setting more effectively when compared to the older gear-style HOP-up unit.

The pistol grip is another unique ARCTURUS design, an ergonomic shape with a filled out backstrap, linear texture on the front and rear and mock stipple texture on the flanks. An extremely comfortable design inspired by the most well-regarded real steel grips out there, the ARCTURUS pistol grip also provides plenty of traction, ideal for wet weather operations, with or without gloves.

At the rear of the receiver, we come to the steel CQD-style sling plate, which offers ambidextrous functionality with single-point slings; perfect for left or right-handed shooters. The steel construction of the sling plate practically guarantees that even if you mount a massive rifle scope, PEQ box, and RunCam, the sling plate will be strong enough to support the weight. Following the sling plate, we come to the good old AR buffer tube, constructed from alloy and offering 6 adjustment positions for the pre-installed stock, or any other M4/AR-15 AEG stock you choose to mount!

The stock is yet another innovative ARCTURUS design, boasting a snag-reducing A-frame shape, a QD sling socket on either side and a rubberised butt plate for maximum traction. On each side, the stock features enlarged cheek pieces like the prolific Crane stock, providing a comfortable cheek weld for those who like their optics as close to the rail as possible. The stock also serves as the battery compartment, offering plenty of space for a battery which will last all day.

To access the battery compartment, simply turn the dial on the butt plate 90 degrees clockwise, after which the butt plate will hinge open, revealing a Deans battery connector inside. We recommend a 7.4V 2600mAh LiPo in crane/nunchuck configuration for an easy fit and flawless performance.

Inside, the LWT MK-I is generously equipped, based around a reinforced version 2 gearbox with an alloy shell, 18:1 ratio steel gears and a stainless steel cylinder. Also inside is a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel, providing an edge in air efficiency and accuracy. The spring guide is a quick change example, allowing the spring to be swapped out to tune FPS without disassembling the gearbox. This also makes working on the gearbox internals far easier, as anyone who has worked on a non-quick-change gearbox will know!

The highlight of the LWT MK-I is the pre-installed SE™ programmable MOSFET, a simplified version of the FE™ MOSFET found in ARCTURUS' high-end releases. While it may offer fewer functions than the FE™, the SE™ still offers programmable fire controls, including 2-round burst, 3-round burst, semi-auto only for DMR builds, and binary trigger with ramping full auto. Also present in the SE™ toolbox are battery protection, low-voltage cut-off, 2 levels of adjustable pre-cocking and adjustable active braking. All programming can be carried out using the AEG itself, making it easy to switch modes on the field.
