The KAR98k Steel Scope Rail Mount from Vector Optics mounts to your KAR98k receiver (following modification - see Special Instructions) and provides two slots of Picatinny rail, ideally suited to mounting a rifle scope with separate mount rings. This mount is intended for use on real rifles, but does match the geometry of the Airsoft receivers should you choose to add it to your Airsoft build.

Description
The KAR98k Steel Scope Rail Mount is constructed from Steel...no prizes for guessing that! The mount comes as two parts, one of which mounts to the KAR98k receiver above the chamber whilst the other mounts to the rear of the receiver, behind the stripper clip guide. This mount requires two holes for each mount to be drilled and tapped in the receiver to install it, and we recommend that this is done by a professional, as a slight error can cause irreparable damage to the rifle and may mean you cannot zero any optic mounted. The lever on the rear mount can be used to remove the rail section from its mount via its dovetail fitting. As it comes, this lever is positioned to block any side-to-side movement of the rail section and prevent its mounting screws from walking. With this lever rotated to clear the dovetails mounting screw, and the large screw removed from the opposite side, the rail section can be adjusted from left to right or removed entirely.
The mount provides two Picatinny rail sections with one slot in each, making this mount ideal for use with a rifle scope with two separate scope rings. The mount uses CNC machining in its manufacturing process, guaranteeing the precision necessary to do the job. The iron sights of your rifle will still be visible through the cut-out in the sight mount, meaning if you need to do some close range work, or you suspect your scope is giving you sub-optimal results, you can confirm with your irons.

Special Instructions
This mount requires you to modify your KAR98k receiver to use it. The modifications involve drilling and tapping (adding threads to) 4 holes in the receiver. These holes must be drilled precisely, otherwise, the mount will not sit straight. We recommend professional fitting for this part by either an armourer or an individual with experience using precision tools.
