  • Full metal construction
  • Stylish spiral fluted outer barrel
  • Ultra-light side with exceptional speed

For those Hi-Capa fans who feel the need for speed, the Hi-Capa 5.1 High Speed Custom from Golden Eagle takes out of the box Hi-Capa performance to even greater peaks. The slide of this Hi-Capa has been reduced to practically nothing at all, giving it an incredibly fast cyclic rate with reduced recoil, resulting in a vast improvement in gas efficiency and shot to shot consistency. If you are the type of player who is all about performance, this Hi-Capa would be perfect for your needs, and would almost certainly excel with an HPA rig connected as it does with a standard green gas magazine. The skeletonised slide design and spiral fluted outer barrel would also appeal to those out there who appreciate the minimalist race-gun aesthetic.

Description

The Hi-Capa 5.1 High Speed Custom is a radical departure from the traditional full slide Hi-Capa design, exchanging felt recoil for additional slide speed and stand-out customised aesthetics. This Hi-Capa boasts all the modern design features of the most up to date modern Hi-Capas on the market, with a lightweight minimalist slide and spiral fluted outer barrel, reducing the weight to only what is necessary for pure performance. If you want a Hi-Capa that is faster than your mates, this one probably is!

Starting at the tip of the outer barrel we can see 12mm CW female threads, allowing you to mount a tracer for some CQB intimidation or a suppressor if you have more of a sneaky playstyle using a 12mm CW to 14mm CCW thread adapter. The outer barrel of the Hi-Capa 5.1 High Speed Custom is a lightweight design with precisely machined spiral fluting on its outer surface, adding to this Hi-Capa 5.1 GBB's custom aesthetic and helping it to stand out amongst all the other vogueish Hi-Capas on the modern skirmish site! The gold barrel with a black slide is an instantly recognisable "custom" look in the Airsoft community, thanks to Salient Arms for starting this trend!

The upper portion of the slide, save for the area where the front sight mounts, has been entirely cut away all the way back to the ejection port, revealing the spiral fluted outer barrel for an unconventional and eye-catching look. The area below the barrel which houses the recoil rod guide has also been cut away, and the remaining portion of the front of the slide includes ports on either side, effectively skeletonising the slide for unparalleled slide speed.

The sights of the Hi-Capa 5.1 High Speed Custom can be found on the top of the slide, with the front sight mounted on what is left of the front of the slide, and the rear sight found at the rear, just above the hammer. The front sight is a fixed light-enhancing sight with a red insert, allowing for fast target acquisition, even in low light situations. The rear sight is a serrated "anti-glare" open sight which combines well with the light-enhancing front sight to prevent accidentally mixing up the sight dots and pulling your shot off. The rear sight is fully adjustable and can be raised and lowered by turning the screw on the top using a flathead screwdriver to set your elevation. The windage can be adjusted using the screw on the right side of the sight which will allow you to move the sight picture left to right. At the rear of the slide, we can find deep, angular serrations to provide positive control over the slide of the pistol, meaning no matter the weather conditions you will still be able to cock the slide, with or without gloves.

Moving down to the frame, we can find the standard Hi-Capa layout of an alloy frame with a modular, polymer pistol grip. The frame of the Hi-Capa 5.1 High Speed Custom features a 20mm Picatinny accessory rail which allows for a tactical flashlight or laser to be added for low light environments or CQB. The slide release catch can be found on the left side of the pistol, just above the trigger, and is a slightly enlarged design to enable those with smaller hands to use the control effectively whilst remaining tight to the frame to prevent snags. The magazine release can be found on the left side of the grip and is an extended design to allow for easy and fast access when time is of the essence.

The grip itself is constructed from high density polymer, and features dot texturing on the front, and on both sides to provide the gripping qualities necessary for use in all weather conditions, with or without gloves. As a part of the Hi-Capa design, the trigger guard is integrated into the pistol grip module, and includes undercuts for both the strong hand and support hand, encouraging a high grip on the pistol for better recoil control. These undercuts provide a comfortable relief for you hands to sit whilst holding the pistol in two hands, and also serve to assist the shooter in gaining a consistent grip each time the pistol is drawn. At the base of the grip, we can find a magazine well extension with a bevelled inner wall, also known as a magazine well flare. This part is intended to help speed up reloads by providing a widened route to the magazine well, allowing for "eyes up" reloads and easier reloads on the move. This magazine well flare also has cut-outs on either side to aid in removing the magazine for a retention reload.

The manual safety can be found at the rear of the pistol and is mirrored on either side to allow for left or right-handed use. This manual safety can be activated whether the pistol is cocked or not and will lock both the trigger and slide when pushed upwards. When not in use, the safety does double duty as a "gas pedal" style thumb rest to encourage a consistent grip and assist with controlling muzzle rise.

At the rear of the frame we can find our secondary safety device; the beavertail grip safety. This safety prevents the pistol from being fired unless it is pressed in, ensuring the pistol will not fire when dropped and allowing you to safely carry the Hi-Capa, with its legendarily light trigger. The beavertail present on the Hi-Capa 5.1 High Speed Custom is an extended design, featuring texture on the rear surface for additional grip and an extension to ensure the safety is disabled as soon as the pistol is gripped.

Just above the grip safety, we can see the hammer, which is a low profile skeletonised design intended to reduce the chances of "hammer bite" and prevent the hammer from snagging on your gear as you draw. The angular design of the hammer sits right in line with the visual language expressed by the rest of the pistol, and also includes linear texture on the upper surface to allow for greater control if you need to de-cock the Hi-Capa.

The Golden Eagle Hi-Capa 5.1 High Speed Custom is for those looking for a Hi-Capa which is absolutely uncompromised in its pursuit of speed. The skeletonised slide and spiral fluted outer barrel result in superb gas efficiency, and incredible slide speed, with a slight reduction in recoil to ensure you land those double taps on target. Without a plethora of internal upgrades this is as fast as it gets, so if you're looking for a great starting point for a CQB Hi-Capa built the Hi-Capa 5.1 High Speed Custom is the one!
