Full description

Description

The Golden Eagle MC6642 is a Gas Blowback rifle powered by green gas, featuring a unique ultra-sleek modern KeyMod handguard with a comfortable triangular profile, and an extremely realistic firing experience. If you have never fired a GBBR, you are missing out, imagine a GBB pistol on steroids...that's this rifle! With every shot the full-sized realistic bolt carrier slams back against the buffer and spring, providing immersive recoil. When your magazine is empty, the bolt will lock back on the bolt release catch, indicating that you have an empty rifle, just like a real AR.

Starting at the tip of the barrel, we can find an alloy muzzle brake style flash hider, providing a modern and aggressive look to the business end of the rifle. The muzzle brake can be easily swapped for a suppressor, tracer unit or another muzzle device which mounts on 14mm CCW male threads, which are provided at the tip of the alloy outer barrel.

The outer barrel of the MC6642 is 14.5 inches in length, containing a 363mm inner barrel to provide a handy, carbine length package which is capable of handling CQB as well as longer ranged encounters.

The inclusion of an adjustable HOP-up unit provides the additional range to engage targets at greater distances. The rotary HOP-up adjuster can be found on the underside of the outer barrel and is accessible when the handguard has been removed. The handguard can be removed by removing the two large Allen bolts on the left side of the handguard, after which the handguard can be pulled forward over the barrel and off the rifle.

The handguard itself provides KeyMod attachment slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, with attractive vents on either side, completing the lightweight, skeletonized look of a modern tactical rifle. This handguard allows KeyMod Picatinny rail sections, vertical foregrips and rail covers to be attached with ease wherever you need them. The handguard also provides a long Picatinny rail at the 12 o'clock position which mates seamlessly with the receiver rail, providing plenty of attachment space for longer optical sights, PEQ laser units, and red dot and magnifier combos.

The MC6642 comes supplied with flip-up aperture iron sights which are adjustable for both windage and elevation, providing two fine rear apertures which can be flipped between for aiming and long range, or in low light without the need for tools. The sights come pre-installed on the rifle's 12 o'clock rail, but can be easily removed and replaced with an aiming device of your choice. These sights are "Troy" style iron sights, and are protected on either side with built in wings, preventing an inadvertent bump or scrape from messing with your sight's zero.

The receiver of the MC6642 is similar in form to every other AR out there, with the exception being that because it does not contain a gearbox, the receiver can be realistic sized. This results in a slim feel to the rifle, and a positively skinny pistol grip, marking this out as a GBBR and making it genuinely hard to distinguish from a real AR. Obviously, this doesn't make it better or worse for skirmishing, but if you are like us and appreciate attention to detail and faithfulness to the real article, you will feel a strange sense of satisfaction handling this bad boy. The rifle's pistol grip is a unique custom style grip, with deep linear texture across all surfaces and thumb grooves on either side to provide a comfortable hold and encourage a proper firing grip. This grip is also realistically sized and is compatible with any pistol grip for the WA or G&P GBBR system, and real AR15 grips with minor modification.

The MC6642 has familiar AR15 controls, the only difference is that more of them function in a GBBR! The Selector switch appears on the left side of the lower receiver, above the pistol grip. The fire selector provides 3 positions, helpfully marked SAFE, SEMI and AUTO, and has a 90-degree throw between the fire modes. Like the real AR15, this rifle cannot be placed on SAFE when the hammer is not cocked, so if you want to safe your rifle please do not force the selector switch, if it won't move the rifle probably isn't cocked! The rifle's magazine release can be found on the magazine well on the right side of the rifle, sitting conveniently within reach of the trigger finger, making reloads easy and quick.

The charging handle can be found a the top rear of the rifle and is of a standard M4A1 profile, keeping the rifle slim and slick sided to prevent snags on gear and make the rifle faster to manipulate, and more comfortable to sling. The  bolt release catch can be found at the centre of the left side of the receiver. When the magazine of the MC6642 is empty, the bolt will be held open, just like the real thing, indicating that the rifle is empty. This allows a quick magazine change, followed by a slap on the bolt catch to send the bolt home, ready for the next shot. Whilst there are aftermarket solutions which allow the bolt release to be operated from either side, this isn't strictly necessary, as the right-handed user can release the bolt with their thumb after inserting a fresh magazine, and the left-handed user can do the same but with their trigger finger, with no modification needed to the rifle's controls.

At the rear of the receiver, we can find a 6 position AR15 buffer tube with a low profile sliding stock mounted to it. This buffer tube is compatible with any aftermarket M4/AR15 stock designed for an AEG, as well as real steel stocks designed for "Milspec" buffer tubes. The receiver is closed off with a plain receiver plate, but this can be replaced with sling plates designed for the Airsoft GBBRs. Please note, AEG sling plates are not compatible with this rifle. The stock mounted on this rifle has a low profile adjustment lever, reducing the chances of a snag, and features QD sling points on either side, which can be used together with a KeyMod or Picatinny sling mount (not included) to attach a 2 or 3 point sling. The butt plateat the end of the stock is rubberized and also features an angled section to assist in shouldering the rifle whilst wearing body armour. The rubberised surface of the butt plate also features deep linear texture to ensure the rifle stays firmly in your shoulder under the intense recoil forces of this GBBR!

The MC6642 is based on the Western Arms GBBR design, the original GBBR, and regarded by many as the most realistic GBBR system out there. The rifle's fire control parts are a spitting image of the real AR, even down to the shape of the hammer itself. The bolt carrier is realistically sized and packs plenty of weight, giving this rifle is jaw rattling recoil. One of the weaknesses of GBBRs in general tends to be their bolt catch, which eventually wears away and stops functioning. Golden Eagle has seen to this, by providing a steel bolt catch out of the box. This GBBR is compatible with Western Arms magazines, G&P WOC magazines and any other GBBR magazine designed for the WA system, although it will work best with Golden Eagle branded magazines.
