Description
If you need a cutting-edge AR equally appropriate for Milsim or civy tactical loadouts, the SA-V30 ONE™ M4/AR-15 AEG; Kestrel Basic ETU from Specna Arms is a fantastic option. Boasting full metal construction, a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and ultra-modern furniture, this M4/AR-15 AEG is also fitted with the incredibly advanced EShooter Kestrel Basic MOSFET/ETU system, offering a wealth of functionality which brings it into line with the best of recent releases.
The Kestrel Basic ETU offers programmable fire modes including 3-round burst and binary trigger, adjustable pre-cocking, active braking, cycle completion, low battery warning and low/high voltage protection. Put simply, the Kestrel keeps your gearbox cycling at maximum efficiency and, with pre-cocking set, provides an incredibly snappy trigger response ideally suited to rapid double taps. Paired with Specna's standard 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and rotary HOP-up unit, this is one of the best-equipped M4/AR-15 AEGs on the market!
Starting at the tip of the 15-inch alloy outer barrel, we can find a three-prong flash hider which attaches to the barrel's 14mm CCW male threaded tip. This flash hider is a nice final touch and gives the SA-V30 a dynamic look, offering a welcome change from the usual birdcage flash hider, especially paired with the M-LOK handguard. The 14mm CCW male threaded barrel means that if you want to add a suppressor or tracer unit, you can, without the need for any additional adapters.
The equally long handguard offers a 20mm Picatinny rail at the 12 o'clock position along with M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. The upper rail mates seamlessly with the receiver rail, allowing for optical sight setups of any length to be mounted, including red dot sights and magnifier combinations. The use of M-LOK negative space attachment slots makes the front end super light and agile, allowing for speedy target-to-target transitions and flawless handling.
The receiver should be a familiar sight to anyone who has handled an M4/AR-15 platform before, constructed from alloy and matching the real M4A1 receiver style perfectly. This includes the reinforced front pinhole, mil-spec flat trigger guard, magazine release fence and low-profile charging handle latch. The magazine release is ambidextrous and found on both the right and left sides of the magazine well. The right side has a push-through design just like a standard M4/AR-15 AEG with a textured surface for optimal traction.
The fire selector is also ambidextrous and the switch is found just above the pistol grip on both sides, offering 3 modes of fire with a 90-degree throw between each. The default fire modes are safe, semi-auto and full auto, but with the pre-installed Kestrel Basic ETU, you have the option of using binary trigger instead of semi and 3-round burst instead of full auto. This makes the SA-V30 ONE™ very versatile and ready for any situation you may find yourself in.
The charging handle can be found at the top rear of the receiver and, as mentioned, features the milspec low-profile charging handle latch to reduce snagging potential. Pulling the charging handle back will pop the dust cover open and retract the black-finished mock bolt, revealing the rotary HOP-up unit on the right side. The HOP-up allows you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your projectiles and tune the SA-V30 ONE™ for different ammo weights, looking for the flattest possible trajectory. When you've completed your adjustments, you can slap the "ping pong paddle" style bolt release catch on the left side of the receiver to drop the mock bolt with a satisfying metal-on-metal "clank".
Up top, we have a 20mm Picatinny receiver rail with a preinstalled rear "ghost ring" iron sight. The rear sight is adjustable for both windage without requiring a single tool to do it; the dial on the right side adjusts windage (left to right). If you prefer to run an optical sight, you can loosen the thumb screws on the left side of the iron sight and remove it to access the full length of your receiver rail. As much as a carry handle would complete the iconic look of the M4A1 build, an ACOG-style optic is much more ideal if you're going for an "in the field" look.
The magazine release is located on the magazine well on the right side and is well within reach of the trigger finger for right-handed users. This mag catch is right-hand optimised but can be used by lefties as well with a bit of practice. The right side of the upper receiver has the usual M4/AR-15 features, including a mock forward assist button, mock brass deflector and the dust cover which conceals the mock bolt and HOP-up adjuster.
At the rear of the receiver, we are treated to an ambidextrous sling plate which offers two sling points on the left side and one on the right. The sling plate is ideal for single-point slings, but can also be paired with a front sling mount if you prefer a two-point sling setup. Being constructed from steel allows the sling plate to take the weight of the SA-V30 easily, and provides confidence that the plate will never fail and dump your gorgeous rifle into the dirt.
Following the sling plate, we come to the 6-position M4/AR-15 buffer tube, which is constructed from alloy for a great balance of strength and low weight. The stock replicates a lesser-seen real steel stock known as the VLTR stock; it has side compartments for storing accessory batteries. It also has a rubber butt plate with aggressive gripping texture. The stock has 6 positions of adjustment, making it suitable for any body type or loadout.
The battery compartment is located inside the buffer tube of the SA-V30, which can be accessed by removing the stock enteriely from the buffer tube, or instead pulling the top part of the butt plate off then sliding it down and off the stock. For the Specna Arms SA-V30 ONE™ M4/AR-15 AEG; Kestrel Basic ETU, we recommend a7.4v 1450mAh 30C LiPo Stick Battery for a comfortable fit and plenty of game time.
Inside the SA-V30 ONE™, we are treated to the same solid internals as the original, including 18:1 ratio steel gears running on 8mm ball bearing bushings and a steel spring guide with Enter & Convert™ quick change spring functionality. Enter & Convert™ requires the gearbox to be removed from the receiver, but doesn't require the gearbox itself to be opened, saving you hassle when it comes to power tuning and minimising the expertise needed.
The highlight of this refined version of the original SA-V30 ONE™ is its Kestrel Basic ETU/MOSFET, offering 6 levels of adjustable pre-cocking, options for 3-round burst and binary trigger, along with low battery warning, cycle completion, active braking and low/high voltage cutoff. This means you can crank up the trigger response for super-fast double-taps. Also inside is a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and rotary HOP-up unit, giving you superb accuracy potential and the latest HOP-up design for M4/AR-15 platforms.
So, whether you are looking for an advanced modern M4/AR-15 platform with a unique colour but you don't want to build it yourself, or you want a solid skirmish primary with slick functionality and little to go wrong, the Specna Arms SA-V30 ONE™ M4/AR-15 AEG would be a great addition to your armoury. This AEG has enough length to sling BBs in the woods with the big boys, but is light and agile up front so it can still do its business in the tight confines of CQB, if you have the skills!

Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
