The sights offer two rear apertures to aim with, a smaller one for semi-automatic fire and long-range use and a wider one which is well suited to full auto fire and low light conditions. The sights can be deployed by pressing the textured section at the front of each sight from either side, after which they can be manually raised into position. Adjustments can be applied via the dial on the right side of the rear sight, which will move the aperture from side to side, and in the centre of the front sight post which will raise and lower it for elevation adjustments.

While few people actually use their BUIS in-game other than in emergencies, a set of backup iron sights are one of those small details which really help finish off a realistic build.
