If you prefer speedy, modern race guns over bulky military replicas, the Specna Arms SA-E39 EDGE™ M4/AR-15 AEG; HAL ETU™ is built for you. Featuring a full metal construction, dynamic M-LOK handguard and a weight-reduced ported receiver inspired by 3-gun competition rifles, the SA-E39 stands out from the sea of MK18 and URG-I builds with a genuinely unique AR-15 profile.

This updated SA-E39 retains the proven EDGE™ internals while adding the HAL programmable ETU, unlocking adjustable fire modes, pre-cocking and trigger sensitivity. Inside the ORION™ V2 gearbox, you’ll find CNC aluminium compression components, a polymer piston with a full steel tooth rack, 18:1 steel gears on 8mm ball bearing bushings and an ESA quick-change spring guide for easy power tuning.

As standard, the SA-E39 is equipped with a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel, boosting accuracy and air efficiency. If speed and handling matter more than sheer weight, but you still want a solid full-metal platform, the SA-E39 delivers.

Up front, the 10.5-inch outer barrel is finished with a birdcage-style flash hider mounted to common 14mm CCW threading, giving access to a wide range of aftermarket muzzle devices, including tracers, suppressors and brakes.

The M-LOK/20mm Picatinny hybrid handguard features a full-length 20mm top rail that aligns seamlessly with the receiver, plus M-LOK slots at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions. Extended front slots provide extra clearance for accessories such as weapon lights.

Polymer M-LOK Picatinny rail sections are pre-installed on the sides, allowing immediate accessory mounting, though they can be removed for a cleaner look. The bottom of the handguard includes a Specna Arms SAAS angled foregrip with an integrated QD sling point, which can also be removed to free up additional M-LOK space.

Flip-up polymer iron sights come pre-installed on the top rail, offering tool-less windage adjustment at the rear and elevation adjustment at the front. Their low-profile design allows them to remain mounted without interfering with optics.

The receiver follows the familiar M4/AR-15 layout, making it intuitive for AR users. Weight-reducing ports along the upper receiver and magazine well enhance handling while adding aggressive competition styling. Additional material reduction on the forward assist and magazine release fence further trims weight.

Limited-edition red accents elevate the look, including red aluminium controls and a visible red piston through the ported receiver, giving the rifle a distinctive race-gun aesthetic.

An extended charging handle reveals the rotary HOP-up unit, allowing fine adjustment and improved consistency under sustained fire. The standard AR fire selector offers safe, semi and full auto, with programmable alternatives available via the HAL ETU.

A skeletonised flat trigger complements the competition-inspired design, promoting fast and consistent trigger pulls. The textured pistol grip provides excellent control and remains compatible with aftermarket AR-style grips.

The magazine release is positioned for easy access by right-handed users while remaining usable for left-handed players. The right side of the receiver includes familiar AR features such as a mock forward assist, brass deflector and dust cover.

At the rear, a steel ambidextrous sling plate provides multiple mounting points and is ideal for single- or two-point sling setups. The 6-position alloy buffer tube houses the battery compartment, accessed by removing the stock to reveal a Deans connector. A 7.4V stick LiPo is recommended for best fit and performance.

Completing the rifle is the Specna Arms Light Ops stock from the SAAS range, offering a comfortable cheek weld, rubberised contact points and QD sling sockets on both sides. Its low-profile design resists snagging while remaining robust and secure.

Internally, the SA-E39 combines proven EDGE™ performance with the flexibility of the HAL ETU. Programmable fire modes include burst, binary, AUG mode, semi-only and sniper delay, alongside adjustable pre-cocking and trigger sensitivity. Paired with the tightbore barrel, this ensures strong performance at range.
