Ares L85A2 Service Rifle

Just like the real L85, this Airsoft replica is a bullpup configuration replica, with the magazine located behind the trigger. The result is a compact Airsoft gun with a nice long barrel – making it perfect for both outdoor and indoor Airsoft sites. It is front wired and accepts a crane style battery in the handguard via a Mini Tamiya connector in the traditional L85 handguard that we all know and love. It has all the accurate features of the A2 revision to the weapon including the sloped charging handle.

This replica is constructed to a fantastic standard and features Stamped Steel on the upper and lower receiver, a material that is quickly becoming common place on replicas as it is as close as you can get to the real thing, as well as some gorgeous stamped trademarks.  It weighs in at an almighty 3.9kg and has a strong weight bias to the rear, which makes it very balanced when shouldered. The Polymers used on the pistol grip and handguard are high density and feel very tough to the touch. The rear butt pad has been rubberised to make the replica stick in your shoulder very easily, giving you an incredibly stable platform to shoot from. The bullpup design leads to a very long inner barrel which gives you incredible range and accuracy, all without excessive overall length, meaning you can happily bring this RIF to an indoor skirmish without issue.

The end of the outer barrel assembly has a 14mm CW thread underneath the flash hider which allows you to attach suppressors, tracer units or any muzzle device you think looks good. Bear in mind the CW thread is less common than CCW so an adaptor may be required. In true Ares fashion, they have had the sense to use a microswitch trigger rather than the tradition contacts and rod approach which always led to a nasty, or completely non-functional trigger pull. The microswitch design removes the major issue of bullpup replicas and makes for a delightful shooting experience. Especially when combined with such a long inner barrel and precise iron sights.  

Included in the box is an instruction manual and a 130rnd Mid-Cap magazine which feeds all rounds via a spring until empty. This is great for sneaky players who like to get behind the enemy team, and don't want their position given away by the inevitable rattle of a 300 BBs maraca. This is the perfect choice for anyone considering doing a 80s-00s British Forces loadout, or for those who want a Bullpup platform weapon which breaks the mold of disappointment with the Bullpup design.

Special Instructions

The carry handle is for cosmetic look only, and should not be used to carry the rifle, the rifle is too heavy to sustain the weight of it on just the handle.  Do not carry this rifle with what is the rear sight system on the L85 airsoft rifle.

The externals of the replica are metal where they would be on the real world gun. This includes things like the outer barrel, handguard, and receiver. If a real world gun has polymer parts then the gun will still be marked as full metal externals, examples of this would be an M4, where the Stock and Pistol grip are always made from Polymer.
