Armorer Works VX7102 EU17 DP Custom GBB Pistol

This version of the VX7 Mod 1 features a Deadpool-inspired black and red finish, complete with on-theme markings to complete the look. The VX7 is internally based on the WE EU17, meaning recoil is a fair step up from comparable GBB pistols thanks to a hefty metal slide and enlarged blowback unit. The enhanced frame boasts trigger guard undercuts and an extended beavertail to improve comfort, along with a low-profile Gen. 3-style mag release to reduce the potential of inadvertent mag drops. Starting at the front, we can find 11mm CW female barrel threads, making the EU17 DP Custom tracer and suppressor ready with the addition of an 11mm CW to 14mm CCW thread adapter. The threading is also cut to mimic rifling, giving the opfor a more realistic view before you send them back to respawn. 

The set includes a stylish muzzle compensator, which is optional, but adds a menacing look when mounted. To install the compensator, you'll need to position it to index with the cutouts at the front of the outer barrel, then insert the threaded retainer and tighten it down with the included tool. The barrel itself is made from alloy and features a battle-worn finish, with an Armorer Works logo engraved on the top of the chamber with "AW Custom" on the right side.

Moving back to the slide, we can take note of the considerable weight reduction in the form of a reduced profile central section and deep front and rear slide serrations. The slide is also rocking ports at the top corners, giving it a touch of custom looks in line with modern high-end real steel handguns. 

The slide serrations are deep enough to provide plenty of traction in wet weather, but are smoothly machined to keep your fingers unblemished if you take your chances without gloves on the skirmish field. Up top, we have a set of Glock-style white dot and U iron sights, effective fixed combat sights designed to avoid mixing up sight dots when working under pressure.

On both sides of the slide, we are treated to Deadpool-inspired markings, adding a touch of comedy to this eye-catching, themed build. The left side markings read "⬅BANG!!!" and "# TEAM DP", and the right side features "# MEAT GRINDER", "DANGER ZONE" and "DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?" markings. 

Moving down to the frame, we can find a full 20mm Picatinny rail at the front, allowing a tactical flashlight or laser aiming module to be added if required. The benefit of a full rail as opposed to a pistol rail is broader compatibility with accessories, avoiding the need for specific rail adapters for certain flashlights. 

Inside the centre of the rail, we have the mock serial number plate, which functions as a trigger lock safety. Push the serial number plate forward to lock the trigger and rearward to unlock it. This is obviously going to be a hassle to do under pressure, but it makes a fantastic way to ensure your sidearm is safe when stored or transported.

The trigger guard is a close match for the real steel P80 pistol, boasting a recurved front face and recessed underside functioning similarly to trigger guard undercuts. This allows for a higher grip on the pistol for improved recoil control, with the recurved front face providing an extra point of contact for modern pistol shooting techniques. The trigger itself is a standard EU series trigger with a central blade which works as a safety device, preventing the trigger from being pulled accidentally by restricting trigger movement when the blade is not pressed.

Above the trigger, we can see a small catch, which is mirrored on either side of the pistol. This is the disassembly catch and can be used to field strip the pistol for maintenance. To remove the slide of the pistol, simply remove the magazine, cock the slide so the hammer is back, pull down the disassembly catches on either side and push the slide forward to remove it from the frame.

With the slide removed, you can now access the adjustable HOP-up unit, which can be used to apply backspin to your BBs, extending their range. The dial can be turned to apply additional HOP effect and can be tuned to your chosen BB weight to extend the effective range of the pistol.

The magazine release is on the left side of the grip, well within reach of the thumb when the EU17 DP Custom is held in a firing grip. A Gen. 3 style design with a reduced profile, this mag release is designed to be accessible without increasing the risk that you'll drop your mag by accident. Above the mag release, we can find the slide lock/release catch; a low-profile design made from steel for maximum reliability.

The grip is a considerable improvement over the standard EU17, offering a more comfortable angle, crackle texture on all sides and an extended beavertail at the rear, preventing slide bite and improving comfort. On the rear of the grip, we're also equipped with a lanyard mounting point, allowing you to keep your sidearm tethered to your belt using a pistol retention lanyard. This is a fantastic feature if you skirmish like a bull in a china shop or like to get down and dirty in the woods; there is nothing worse than realising your pistol is missing mid-battle!

On each side of the grip, the Deadpool-inspired markings continue, with the iconic face logo on both sides and extra comedic text to ice the cake. On the right side, we have an arrow pointing to the trigger with "Daddy's happy place" alongside. The left side markings read "It's Zamboni Time <3" and "Reload Da Chimichangas" above an arrow pointing to the magazine well. Deadpool fans will know, these markings are absolutely on-theme!

Internally, the EU17 DP Custom is based on the WE EU17 and should accept internal upgrades for the WE. The inner barrel and HOP-up bucking are TM GBB/VSR spec, giving you almost unlimited options when it comes to enhancing long-range performance and accuracy. The slide lock/release catch is made from steel, a thoughtful upgrade ensuring this high-wear component will never let you down.
