Bolster Tuned Delta Armory R15 FREYA™ 13" M4/AR-15 AEG

As is the Bolster Tuned standard, this isn’t your everyday pre-upgraded AEG. The Bolster Armouries tech team fully disassemble each of these AEGs down to every screw, bolt and bushing to perfectly tune the internals, polish the piston tracks and bearing holes, shim the gears to absolute perfection and replace parts to address the weak points in the original platform.

The Bolster techs treat these AEGs as if they were building them for themselves. If a build doesn't pass their rigorous checks, which include a 60m accuracy test, it goes back to the bench for further tuning.

The team have added the exceptional Gate ASTER™ ETU/MOSFET with the latest EXPERT Firmware to provide advanced features to the FREYA™ and kit it out to contend with the best. The ASTER™ boasts programmable fire controls through the Gate Control Station app, Gate Blu-Link or Gate USB Link, adjustable pre-cocking for a ferocious trigger response in semi-auto, cycle timing control, adaptive active braking, adjustable trigger sensitivity, and voltage control, all of which combine to give this AR a wealth of functionality that is hard to beat.

Installing the ASTER™ requires modification of the gearbox shell and selector plate for compatibility with the ASTER's optical sensors. Copper is no longer used on the selector plate and is instead replaced with an ASTER™ sticker to allow the optical sensors to detect its position and adjust the fire mode accordingly. This is more reliable than a traditional selector plate, as the use of optical sensors takes corrosion, which usually develops on electrical contacts, out of the equation completely.

As you will receive it, the Bolster Tuned FREYA™ is set up for pre-cocking in semi-automatic for a GBB-like instant response, and standard cycling in full auto, so you can release the piston and prolong the life of the spring.

Replacing the original piston head, the superbly built Gate POWER Hybrid CNC Piston Head has been installed, constructed from aircraft-grade aluminium using CNC machining technology to provide the tight tolerances necessary for a perfect fit between the cylinder walls and piston head, along with flawless air seal qualities.

The POWER features a pair of O-rings to completely seal any gap between the cylinder and the piston head itself, but during testing, the team found their very own Bolster Armouries Piston Head O-ring provided better consistency with the CNC Steel Cylinder already inside the FREYA™. The Bolster O-ring eliminates air leaks to ensure that all the compressed air generated by the gearbox is translated into effect downrange with maximum accuracy potential.

The motor installed is the Warhead Base 27K Brushless Motor, offering a super speedy motor which uses high-strength, SH-rated Neodymium magnets. Being a brushless motor, the Warhead Base simply doesn't heat up, as the only friction generated inside is with the air. This keeps the motor cool while you let off some seriously long bursts, guilt-free. The Warhead moves the Bolster Tuned FREYA™ up to the next level of Airsoft performance and puts it hot on the heels of the full-fat Bolster Armouries ONYX, ARKOSE, ATLAS and OBIRE builds.

To ensure reliable feeding at its new astonishing rate of fire, the Bolster team installed the FPS Softair Carbon Fibre Reinforced Tappet Plate. Ideal for precise builds that require perfect nozzle alignment, the FPS tappet plate is constructed from carbon fibre-reinforced nylon polymer, which offers the perfect balance of rigidity and flex without being vulnerable to sudden fractures under heavy load, unlike a conventional polycarbonate tappet.

The Laylax EG 16:1 High Speed Gearset is constructed from hardened steel, a high-speed gearset intended to considerably increase the rate of fire of any AEG into the realms of the extreme. Laylax EG gears are leaps and bounds ahead of the original gears in strength, making them a worthwhile inclusion for long-term reliability under the extreme performance parameters set by the Bolster Armouries team.

Being tuned to a 16:1 ratio means that for every 16 revolutions of your motor, the gearbox will complete one full cycle. The standard gear ratio for Airsoft AEGs is 18:1, putting the Tuned FREYA™ far ahead of its rivals while allowing the potential of the astonishingly fast Warhead Brushless Motor to really shine through.

The Laylax gearset runs on Bolster Armouries EZO  Bearings to guarantee the perfect combination of strength and low friction. The EZO bearings allow the gears to spin freely at the tremendous rate provided by the Warhead Brushless Motor, all while minimising chances of failure and reducing stress on the gearbox shell and gear axles.

Another treat inside the FREYA™ from the factory is the Berserker R-HOP kit, manufactured for Delta Armory by Psionic Upgrades in Italy. This set includes an enhanced  POM HOP-up arm, flat nub and the Berserker bucking itself, designed to maximise range and allow heavy BBs (0.28g+) to be used.

While the Berserker kit is very impressive on paper, the team disassembled the HOP-up unit and ensured everything was fitted perfectly, along with finely polishing the 6.03 mm tightbore inner barrel. The result is consistent 60-meter  accuracy with 0.28g BBs and the potential to lift even heavier BB weights for improved foliage penetration and wind resistance.

The battery compartment of the FREYA is located inside the buffer tube and is accessible with the hinged butt plate of the EAGLE stock opened. To do this, extend the stock into position 2, press the button on the top of the stock, then hinge the butt plate open.

Inside, you'll find a Deans battery connector with your Gate ASTER™ ETU QR code attached to the wiring. We recommend an 11.1V 1200mAh LiPo battery for the Bolster Tuned FREYA. Use the QR code to connect to your ASTER via the Gate Control Station (GCS) App.
