Bolster Tuned EMG Rifle Dynamics RD-704P AEG

As with previous Bolster Tuned builds (formerly known as Patrol Base X Gate ASTER edition), this isn't your usual upgraded AEG. The Bolster Armouries tech team fully disassemble each of these AEGs down to every screw, bolt and bushing to perfectly tune the internals, polish the piston tracks and bearing holes, shim the gears to absolute perfection and replace parts to address the weak points in the original platform.

The Bolster techs treat these AEGs like they are building them for themselves, and if it doesn't pass their rigorous checks, which include a 60m accuracy test, it goes back to the bench for more work.

The Gate ASTER™ SE V3 MOSFET was added to provide advanced functionality for this retro beast, boasting programmable fire controls through the Gate Control Station app, Gate Blu-Link or Gate USB Link, adjustable pre-cocking for a ferocious trigger response in semi-auto, cycle timing control, adaptive active braking, adjustable trigger sensitivity, and voltage control.

These advanced functions combine to give this cutting-edge AK replica a wealth of functionality that is hard to beat.

The motor installed is the Warhead Base 27K Base Brushless Motor, offering a super speedy motor which uses high-strength, SH-rated Neodymium magnets. Being a brushless motor, the Warhead Base simply doesn't heat up, as the only friction generated inside is with the air. This keeps the motor cool, allowing you to let off some seriously long bursts guilt-free.

The Warhead moves the Bolster Tuned RD-704P up to the next level of Airsoft performance and puts it hot on the heels of the full-fat Bolster Armouries ONYX, ARKOSE, ATLAS, VULKAN and OBIRE builds.

To ensure reliable feeding at its new astonishing rate of fire, the Bolster team installed the FPS Softair Carbon Fibre Reinforced Tappet Plate paired with the FPS Softair Reinforced Polymer Nozzle with inner O-ring. Ideal for a precise build which requires perfect nozzle alignment, the FPS tappet plate is constructed from carbon fibre-reinforced nylon polymer.

This enhanced strength, with the perfect combination of rigidity and flexibility without being vulnerable to sudden fractures under heavy load, as a conventional polycarbonate tappet might. Naturally, it engages perfectly with the FPS Reinforced Nozzle, which improves airseal qualities, reduces shot-to-shot FPS deviation and ensures reliable high-speed feeding in the long term.

The CYMA piston head was found to be suboptimal in the RD-704P build. As such, the team installed the Gate EON Power Hybrid CNC Aluminium Piston Head, bringing a more premium part to the table to ensure FPS deviation between shots is minimised, resulting in considerable accuracy improvements and a tighter grouping at maximum range. The upgraded piston head is paired with the Bolster Armouries Premium Piston Head O-Ring, ensuring no air generated is wasted.

CYMA's 13:1 High Speed gearset has been retained from the original build, as the Bolster techs have been very impressed with its strength and performance. Running at a 13:1 ratio means the motor must rotate 13 times to cycle the gearbox, a significant speed boost compared to standard 18:1 gears.

These high-performance reinforced gears run on Bolster Armouries EZO Bearings to guarantee the perfect combination of strength and low friction. The EZO bearings allow the high-speed gears to spin freely at the tremendous rate provided by the Warhead Brushless Motor with minimal chances of failure, all while reducing stress on the gearbox shell and gear axles.

With a full internal overhaul carried out, this super-slick modernised AK is ready to go toe to toe with the best on the AR-15 platform. With 60+ meter accuracy, 28 rounds per second ROF and plenty of technology on board, the EMG Rifle Dynamics RD-704P AEG has reached a peak in its Bolster Tuned form!

The battery compartment is beneath the top cover. To access it, simply press the button at the rear. It should come straight off, revealing a Deans/T-plug battery connector.

We recommend an 11.1V 1200mAh LiPo in AK stick configuration for a perfect fit and excellent performance. With the battery connected and installed, you can place the top cover back onto the receiver, align the button with the hole in the rear of the top cover, and pull the charging handle to lock the cover down if necessary.
