Description
The Cyber Gun Drum Magazine (aka "Chargeur Camembert" - yes, this is what the French call a drum mag) is constructed from steel with polymer internals to give the magazine a realistic, but not too realistic weight. Given the real Thompson drum magazine weighs around 2.1kg when fully loaded, this is a good thing, and the Cyber Gun drum still gives any Thompson AEG the drum mag feel and look without making it too heavy for its role as an SMG for aggressive playstyles.
This magazine operates the same way any other Airsoft high-cap works, but offers additional capacity and realism when used with an M1928 Chicago Typewriter style Thompson SMG. The magazine is loaded through the fill window located at the top left of the magazine when loaded and can hold an impressive 450 BBs.
The window can be opened by hand, and has a helpful arrow to indicate the direction of travel to open the window. With the fill window open you can simply pour BBs in. The fill window location of this magazine is well thought out, and is accessible without removing the magazine from the weapon. This means if your Tommy Gun runs dry in the middle of a firefight you can save time by refilling the mag whilst it is still on the weapon.
The winding wheel of this drum magazine is realistically positioned on the front to simulate the winding mechanism of the real Tommy Gun drum magazine. This is a nice touch to add realism, and also makes the wheel easy to use when wearing gloves and very fast to wind when compared to a normal high-cap. The wheel is constructed from steel, as it should be for a Thompson drum.
On the front of the magazine, we can see Cyber Gun's licenced Thompson trademarks which include magazine I.D and capacity markings and the Thompson "signature in a bullet" marking just below the winding wheel. This is perfect for simulating a modern Thompson SMG but is small and subtle enough that it won't distract from the authenticity of a re-enactment style WWII Thompson setup.
So, whether you are a performance-oriented skirmisher who wants to lay down more rounds in-game, or you are a WWII reenactor or enthusiast looking to build a proper early war British Tommy Gun, the Cyber Gun Drum Magazine would be perfect for the task. This magazine works with both the M1A1 Military Thompson and the M1928 model in AEG form, meaning even if you have the M1A1 you can still lay down a wall of fire in typical Tommy Gun style!
