- Gas Blowback - Hard recoil, maximum realism
If you're a fan of the realism of GBBRs but don't yet have a P90, the Cybergun FN Herstal P90® PDW GBB should be in your collection! Licensed by FN Herstal and bristling with realistic trademarks, this build is the most realistic P90 replica on the market, offering immersive recoil, a realistic manual of arms and realistic field stripping; a sure hit for collectors and realism seekers.
Inside, the P90 GBB is rather unique, equipped with an internal gas reservoir which is filled through the magazine when it is inserted. This is a necessary workaround to allow for its top-feeding design, compensating for inconvenient laws of physics, so we can enjoy hard recoiling P90 goodness. Otherwise, the inner barrel and HOP-up bucking are common VSR/GBB spec, allowing for plenty of aftermarket upgrade options. If you've been waiting for a licensed GBB P90, the wait is finally over!

Description
If you love the legendary P90 but need the recoil and realism of gas blowback, Cybergun has your back with the FN Herstal P90® PDW GBB! A high-quality build with a beating heart of hard recoil, this P90 is a one-of-a-kind GBB SMG, made by Armorer Works with official licensing from FN Herstal via Cybergun.
Internally, this P90 sidesteps the laws of physics with a top-feeding mag arrangement which fills the internal gas reservoir when inserted. While unconventional, this is the only way to design a top-feeding GBB which functions well (try shooting your M4 GBBR upside down, and you'll see why!). Otherwise, the internals are compatible with RA Tech upgrade parts for the Cybergun/WE P90 GBB(T.A-2015), VSR/GBB-style inner barrels and VSR/GBB type HOP-up buckings, ideal for those who love upgrading and tuning.
On the outside, this P90 is dressed to impress with FN Herstal trademarks across the design, a tri-rail upper receiver, ready for accessories and a rock-solid feel in the hands, making good use of fibre-reinforced polymer. If you're a realism-seeker with a P90-shaped hole in your collection, the Cybergun FN Herstal P90® PDW GBB is what you need to fill it!
Starting at the front end, we can see a P90 multi-port flash hider made from alloy. A great start for realism! The flash hider attaches to the outer barrel via 14mm CCW male threads, which will allow any of the most common types of threaded accessories to be added, including tracer units, suppressors, and sound amplifiers. We're sure we have all seen a suppressed P90 - it is a match made in heaven!
The upper receiver assembly is constructed from high-density polymer, increasing strength whilst keeping the weight low to ensure the P90 remains manoeuvrable and easily pointed, as one would expect from a short bullpup design. The upper receiver provides a full-length 20mm Picatinny rail on top with basic open iron sights built in, ready for your choice of red dot sight or scope. On either side, the upper features single slot side rails, ideally positioned for an aiming laser or tactical flashlight. If you prefer a minimalist setup, these rails can be removed to cut down on weight.
The charging handles can be found just below the upper assembly, and are mirrored on either side, ideal for left or right-handed shooters. These need to be pulled to load the first BB, just like a real P90, but are non-reciprocating charging handles, so you don't need to worry about how you hold the platform to avoid getting your thumbs bashed.
The quality of the lower body of the P90 GBB is another feature which sets this P90 apart from the cheaper versions. The material used for this part is a high-density fibre-reinforced polymer. This gives the P90 GBB a smooth, textured surface and an overall feeling of strength and quality. The lower body shows no signs of flex, creaks or squeaking, and feels surprisingly strong given its low weight.
Like the real P90, the lower body is a two-part clamshell design, held together with steel Allen bolts. There are more FN Herstal markings to be found here; within the designation window on the left side, we can see "FN HERSTAL BELGIUM" in large text, with "Licensed by FN Herstal" and an FN logo engraved below.
The P90 has a rather unconventional setup as far as the grip and handguard go, providing an integrated vertical grip with a handstop for the support hand, and an angled thumbhole grip for the firing hand, set at a similar angle to "semi-pistol-grip" stocks of old. This allows the P90 user to get very, very low when in the prone position, gaining the advantage of cover where there normally is none. This is why snipers love using the P90 platform as a secondary!
Being able to reload without rotating your primary when lying down is another invaluable advantage offered by the P90 design, and one that the enemy will not expect! The magazine release is perfectly positioned to facilitate this; it can be found at the top of the receiver, just in front of the shooter's face, and is easily accessible from either side. To release the mag, simply pull both magazine release tabs rearwards, and it will pop free. Please note, the internal gas reservoir will vent when the mag is removed, but this is a normal part of the GBB P90's functionality.
The fire selector lever for the P90 can be found below the trigger and is a rotary design which is accessible from either side, adding to the P90's already exceptional ergonomics and pairing well with its other ambidextrous features. The safe position, denoted by a white "S", provides a trigger lock; the "1" position, denoting semi-automatic, provides a rapid single shot, and the fully-automatic position, denoted with an "A", provides a two-stage trigger, with a short press firing a single shot, and a long extended press firing fully automatic.
One of the biggest highlights of this build for realism fans is its realistic disassembly, allowing you to field strip the P90 GBB just like the real thing. To remove the upper receiver assembly, simply remove the magazine and press the large release button beneath, and it will slide forward. To access the bolt carrier for maintenance, simply shake the upper, and the bolt carrier will slide forward through the front of the stock, potentially with a bit of encouragement through the magazine well.
If you're a P90 fan looking for more realism, you're in good hands with the Cybergun FN Herstal P90® PDW GBB! With licensed trademarks, immersive recoil and a rock-solid external build, this makes a sweet addition to a GBBR collection and a mean skirmishing piece as a bonus!

Special Instructions
This is a Gas Blowback Rifle. GBBRs require maintenance and careful handling, and we do not recommend them for new skirmishers. Things to watch out for if this is your first GBBR:
- This P90 GBBR makes use of an internal gas reservoir, which is filled through the magazine when it is inserted. When you remove the magazine, the internal reservoir will vent through its fill valve. This is a safety feature to prevent the P90 from shooting with the magazine removed and is absolutely normal for this platform. Please ensure you keep your face clear of the magazine well when removing the mag.
- The HOP-up adjuster for this P90 GBBR is inside the upper receiver and is accessible through the magazine well with the magazine removed.
- GBBRs need to be cocked before the first shot, just like a GBB pistol. It is important that you do not double-load a GBBR, as this can break the nozzle. We recommend clearing the chamber of BBs with a cleaning rod in the event that you finish firing mid-magazine and the bolt does not lock back and show an empty chamber.
- GBBRs generally use higher-pressure gas than GBB pistols due to the extra weight of the bolt. We recommend Green Gas (SMART Gas, NUPROL 2.0, VORSK V6, ASG Ultraair) for general use and Red Gas (NUPROL 3.0, VORSK V8) for cold weather use. This build shoots right on the limit with standard Green Gas, so keep a can of White Gas (NUPROL 1.0 or Abbey 144a) handy for summer.
- The faster you shoot a GBBR, the less accurate it will be. This is due to pressure variance as the gas reservoir cools down. Full auto is basically for fun, and these rifles run far better when used in semi-auto mode.
- Like a GBB pistol, GBBR magazines require maintenance. We recommend leaving a small amount of gas inside the magazine when stored, and not storing the magazines in a cold or damp environment. Magazine seals and valves will need lubrication and to be kept clear of dust and debris.

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
