Description
If you like hefty recoil and ultimate realism, the Cybergun FN SCAR® L MK2 MWS GBBR will put a big smile on your face! A flawless full metal replica of FN Herstal's latest SCAR variant, known as the MK2, this beast is made by Guns Modify for Cybergun and is internally based on the popular TM ZET system. For the uninitiated, this is very good news!
Inside, the trigger group parts are all made from robust steel, enhancing long-term reliability for these essential internal parts. The newly designed non-reciprocating charging handle both keeps the build faithful to the real MK2 and helps boost gas efficiency thanks to the slightly shorter length of the MK2 bolt carrier. In terms of firing experience, this beast is every bit as fun to shoot as an M4 GBBR, providing thunderous recoil, realistic handling and a "Legendary" difficulty experience in-game, ideal for veteran skirmishers taking their playstyle to the next level!
Starting at the tip of the outer barrel, we can find a steel FN Herstal-style 3-prong flash hider, a perfect match for the muzzle device provided on the real SCAR-L MK2. The flash hider attaches to male 14mm CCW male threads at the tip of the outer barrel, meaning if you want to go full Special Forces with your SCAR, you have the option to mount a tracer or suppressor, or an alternative flash hider if you fancy a different look.
Immediately following the flash hider, we get to the dummy gas block with the front flip-up iron sight sitting on top. The gas block is faithfully designed, looking almost identical to the real SCAR-L MK2 gas block, complete with a mock gas adjuster which allows you to adjust between "normal" and "adverse" positions in the real thing to ensure the rifle cycles whatever the conditions. This is merely for looks when it comes to Airsoft, but the authentic SCAR MK2 build would not be complete without it.
The front sight mounts into a dovetail at the top of the gas block, but can easily be removed if you prefer to mount a flip-up sight on the receiver rail instead. The front sight can be deployed by pushing the button on the left side of the front sight forward and lifting it up. This also allows the sight to be flipped down for storage or use with optical sights. The front sight is a protected design, with a full hood preventing the adjustable AR-style front sight blade from being damaged should the rifle take a bump or scrape.
Following our front sight, we can find the first of several sling points on the SCAR-L MK2, redesigned from the original variant with wider ports for broader sling hardware compatibility. This comes in the form of two loops, one on either side, positioned at the front of the monolithic upper receiver and constructed from alloy with steel inserts for additional strength. These sling points are compatible with "hook" type slings and are functional for either left or right-handed shooters.
The upper receiver of the SCAR-L MK2, like the real thing, is machined from a single piece of Aluminium and provides a rock-solid base for any optical sight you wish to mount. The rail is long enough that you can install a Red dot sight, magnifier, and PEQ box in true Special Forces style, with plenty of room to spare! At the rear of the upper rail, we can find the rear iron sight, which is adjustable for both windage and elevation without using tools, and comes with a fine yet easy-to-acquire aperture for aiming.
On the rear left side of the receiver is where we can find the licensed FN Herstal trademarks, a near-perfect match for the manufacturer's markings on the real SCAR-L MK2. The markings read "FN HERSTAL BELGIUM", with "FN SCAR®-L CAL. 5.56x45" just below. Where the upper receiver meets the lower, we also have an FN Herstal logo, with "Licensed by FN HERSTAL" beneath. The trademarks are the icing on the cake, completing the authentic look.
At the rear of the upper receiver, we can also find more sling points, enhanced for the MK2 SCAR, just like the front points. On the left side, we have the choice of two enlarged sling loops with steel inserts, and on the right, we have a single sling loop similar to that of the OG SCAR. If you intend to use the smaller loop on the right side, we recommend you put a key ring through it first to enable larger "hook" style slings to mount.
At either side of the SCAR-L MK2 upper receiver, we are provided with polymer 20mm Picatinny rails, which are great for mounting any 20mm Picatinny accessory that you didn't fit on your top rail, such as a tactical flashlight. At the bottom of the handguard section, we are treated to yet another Picatinny rail CNC machined from aluminium, which makes a great home for a vertical or angled foregrip, or even a bipod should you choose to take the SCAR-L MK2 in a DMR direction!
Moving rearwards, we come to the SCAR-L MK2 charging handle, an enhanced swept down design perfectly matching that of the real SCAR MK2 and SCAR-SC/SCAR-15. The swept-down angle keeps the handle well out of the way of anything you've mounted to the upper rail, a big advantage compared to the original SCAR. Another big advantage is that this is now a non-reciprocating charging handle, meaning it doesn't fly back and forth with each shot and make mincemeat of your thumb if holding the rifle unconventionally.
By default, the charging handle is installed on the right side of the SCAR MK2, but it can be reversed to the left side when the rifle is disassembled. When the charging handle is pulled, the mock bolt carrier retracts and travels a realistic length, and when released, it makes a satisfying metal-on-metal "clank". If you hold the charging handle back and press the lower section of the "ping pong paddle" bolt release on the left side, you can lock the bolt back to inspect the chamber or access the Gear adjustable HOP-up unit. The dial is on the left side of the chamber and can be turned with an ungloved finger or a small tool.
The HOP-up can be adjusted in order to provide the appropriate amount of backspin to your chosen BB weight, extending your range when set correctly. If you've got sausage fingers, you might find it easier to access the adjuster with the rifle stripped down. With your adjustment complete, you can hit the mock bolt catch (aka the "ping pong paddle") on the centre right of the receiver to send the mock bolt home with a gloriously noisy "clank".
Below the bolt catch, we can find the steel magazine release, which is present on either side of the SCAR MK2, making this rifle as easy to reload for lefties as it is for correct-handed people. Above the pistol grip, we can find the low-profile fire selector lever, which sits comfortably under the shooter's thumb, ready for fast access. Being an ambidextrous design, the fire selector also allows anyone to use it with ease while also providing extra utility for those who like to "shoulder-to-shoulder transition" when negotiating corners in CQB. The fire selectors have a very short throw, approximately 45 degrees, allowing you to go from safe to semi-automatic much more quickly and with less movement than an M4/AR-15 with its 90-degree selector throw.
The pistol grip of the SCAR-L MK2 is an "A1"-style textured pistol grip with checkering on either side and the rear, ensuring you can keep a tight hold of your SCAR in even the worst weather conditions. This grip is compatible with some aftermarket M4/AR-15 GBBR grips, but we recommend avoiding grips with a "filled out backstrap" or "beavertail extension" as these may not be compatible due to the shape of the SCAR-L lower receiver.
As we arrive at the rear of the rifle, we come to one of its finest features. The multi-function retractable/foldable stock. This stock is known as the "Ugg boot", due to its similarity in looks to what can loosely be described as footwear. As mentioned, this stock provides a whole lot of functionality and has inspired many other stock designs since its inception. The stock can be extended to any of 6 positions, depending on body type and also features an adjustable cheek riser, which offers 2 positions intended to ensure you get a clear view down whatever optical sight you have mounted.
The stock can also be folded and locked to the right side for storage, transportation, or engagements at kissing distance. The stock folding button is located on the left side of the stock, close to the hinge, with the cheek riser adjustment button sitting just above. The control to extend/retract the stock can be found close to the concave rubber butt plate on the toe of the stock.
Inside, the SCAR-L MK2 is fitted with steel trigger components, including the trigger itself, the hammer, sear, disconnector and valve knocker, meaning you'll never need to spend your hard-earned to ensure this rifle lasts in the long term. The nozzle is directly compatible with TM ZET system replacement parts but uses a different mechanism to connect the nozzle spring to the bolt carrier. The inner barrel and HOP-up bucking are both TM GBB/VSR spec, meaning aftermarket upgrades for these parts are practically unlimited!
If you're a GBBR fan looking for the latest SCAR variant, the Cybergun FN SCAR® L MK2 MWS GBBR has your name on it! An incredible quality build with all the details a modern firearms fan will be looking for, and TM ZET system-based goodness under the hood, this is about as good as GBBR SCARs get!

Special Instructions
This is a Gas Blowback Rifle. GBBRs require maintenance and careful handling, and we do not recommend them for new skirmishers. Things to watch out for if this is your first GBBR:
- The rifle cannot be put into "Safe" mode without first being cocked. Generally, the best way to store a GBBR is with the magazine removed, the rifle uncocked, and the fire selector set to "semi". Do not force the selector into "Safe" when the rifle isn't cocked; this will damage the trigger group parts.
- The HOP-up adjuster for this TM ZET system GBBR is inside the upper receiver and is accessible through the ejection port, or with the rifle in field-stripped condition.
- GBBRs need to be cocked before the first shot, just like a GBB pistol. It is important that you do not double-load a GBBR, as this can break the nozzle. We recommend clearing the chamber of BBs with a cleaning rod in the event that you finish firing mid-magazine and the bolt does not lock back and shows an empty chamber.
- GBBRs generally use higher-pressure gas than GBB pistols due to the extra weight of the bolt. We recommend Green Gas (NUPROL 2.0, VORSK V6, ASG Ultrair) for general use and Red Gas (NUPROL 3.0, VORSK V8) for cold weather use.
- The faster you shoot a GBBR, the less accurate it will be. This is due to pressure variance as the gas reservoir cools down. Full auto is basically for fun, and these rifles run far better when used in semi-auto mode.
- Like a GBB pistol, GBBR magazines require maintenance. We recommend leaving a small amount of gas inside the magazine when stored, and not storing the magazines in a cold or damp environment. Magazine seals and valves will need lubrication and to be kept clear of dust and debris.

FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
