  • 6.02mm Tightbore inner barrel
  • Full metal with real wood stock
  • Gas bolt action - Maximum realism!

If you're looking for a sniper rifle at the peak of realism, the Double Bell M700 Real Wood Gas Bolt Action Sniper Rifle should be in your sights! A hefty, full metal build with a real wood stock, this is as realistic as Airsoft sniper rifle builds get, equipped with Tanaka-based internals with the versatile PCS adjustable FPS bolt.

The PCS bolt allows FPS to be tuned, from 420 FPS using standard green gas and 0.20g BBs, right the way up to a spicy 530 FPS. This allows you to tune FPS to suit your local site's limits, taking full advantage of the higher FPS limit for bolt-action sniper rifles. One edge this Tanaka clone platform has over the Japanese-made original is its 6.02mm tightbore inner barrel, providing an FPS, efficiency and accuracy boost compared to the usual 6.08mm bore.

The primary advantage of gas bolt actions over spring-powered equivalents is the effortless bolt throw, requiring minimal movement and effort to cock, just like a real bolt-action sniper rifle. Gas also has the edge in muzzle report; with a suppressor fitted with foam filling, this M700 is practically inaudible from just a few meters away. While springers will have the upper hand in consistency, the realistic feel of the Double Bell M700 Real Wood Gas Bolt Action Sniper Rifle makes the shooting experience that bit more special!

Description

If you're into sniping, seeking more realism and an authentic experience, the Double Bell M700 Real Wood Gas Bolt Action Sniper Rifle should be on your shopping list. A solid full metal build with an authentic real wood stock, the M700 is one of the most realistic sniper platforms on the market today, a whole new beast when compared to common spring-powered sniper rifles, designed to suit the skirmisher who demands the most realistic in-game experience possible.

Inside, the Double Bell M700 finds its origins in the legendary Tanaka M700 system, the gas-powered sniper rifle system considered the cream of the crop by veteran Airsoft snipers. Being gas-powered means the bolt has no resistance when cocked, allowing you to stay concealed in the woods and avoid drawing the eye of the enemy team. An advantage the Double Bell version boasts over the original Tanaka is its 6.02mm tightbore inner barrel, providing the edge in accuracy and a slight FPS boost.

The other massive advantages of the gas power source include a considerably longer inner barrel, a quieter muzzle report when suppressed and the built-in ability to adjust FPS from approximately 420 FPS on 0.20g BBs and standard pressure green gas right up to a scorching 530 FPS, a fantastic feature to tune FPS right to the site limits, with no significant disassembly or extra parts to buy.

While it will be less consistent downrange than a properly built spring-powered sniper rifle, the Double Bell M700 provides snipers with an authentic experience which cannot be matched by any springer. If you love bolt-action work but prefer a more realistic experience, the Double Bell M700 Real Wood Gas Bolt Action Sniper Rifle will definitely satisfy!

Starting at the tip of the whopping 26-inch outer barrel, we can find a thread protector concealing 14mm CCW male barrel threads beneath. This is a rare and generous addition from Double Bell, giving you everything you need to mount a tracer unit or suppressor straight out of the box. While adding a suppressor will make the M700 even longer and potentially unwieldy, this is one of the few platforms on which a foam-filled suppressor will effectively suppress sound.

The barrel profile matches the real Remington R700/M700 rifle perfectly, with a reduced profile at the front which widens as the barrel meets the receiver. Mounted to the top of the barrel, we have a built-in front iron sight, a fine post with a rounded tip and a protective ring to prevent damage in the field. The front sight aligns perfectly with the rear rail-mounted "ghost ring" aperture iron sight and is remarkably satisfying to use, though you can remove both the front and rear sights to mount a scope, should the mission require it.

The receiver is made from alloy, equipped with a reduced-profile 20mm Picatinny rail on the top and the HOP-up adjustment dial at the front. The rail differs from a standard Picatinny rail in its scalloped centre section, designed to allow spent shells to eject freely while permitting manual cartridge extraction for a concealment edge in real steel form. This Picatinny rail allows you to mount a rifle scope, though you'll have to stick with scopes which mount using two separate scope rings (most conventional rifle scopes).

The HOP-up adjustment dial allows you to tune the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and adjust your trajectory for different ammo weights. While in principle, this is a superb HOP-up design, applying pressure directly to the HOP-up bucking to minimise side-to-side shot deviation, it is only compatible with parts for Tanaka M700 platforms and won't take standard VSR/GBB or AEG HOP-up buckings.

The safety lever is on the right side, just behind the bolt handle, allowing easy access from a firing grip with minimal movement and chance to alert the enemy team. With the safety pulled rearwards, the trigger will disconnect. With it pushed forward, you're ready to shoot. The bolt handle itself is a perfect match for the original R700/M700 "Short action" rifle, featuring a ball-shaped handle extension with machined-in texture to improve wet-weather handling.

Racking the bolt in this gas-powered sniper rifle is an absolute joy compared to spring-powered versions, requiring no force whatsoever to cock and minimal movement, just like a real steel bolty. The magazine release is inside the trigger guard, below the action, but requires the bolt to be pulled back before pressing the release to remove the mag.

Inside the trigger recess in the bottom of the stock, you can take note of the flat button between the magazine release and trigger. This is the bolt release catch, allowing you to remove the bolt of the M700 entirely for maintenance and to access its power adjustment feature. To remove the bolt, first, remove your magazine. Then, press the bolt release button down and hold it in place. With this done, you can pull the bolt straight out through the rear of the receiver. See the "Special Instructions" section below to learn about the PCS power-adjustable bolt.

Moving down to the stock, we're greeted with a hefty chunk of real wood, providing an incredibly solid feel in the hands. The wood finish is a thin matt effect, minimising reflective qualities to aid concealment. At the front and rear, the stock features Harris-style sling/bipod mounting studs, which are equipped with sling swivels, ready for a two-point rifle sling. If you fancy adding a bipod, you have the option of removing the front sling swivel and using the Harris lug to fit a Harris-style bipod.

The stock features what is known as a "semi-pistol-grip" layout, allowing you to get very low in the prone position with a natural grip angle. The grip section itself is significantly widened compared to a VSR-10, more in line with the real R700/M700 system, which is designed to be shot with an open grip rather than with the hand fully wrapped around.

At the rear, we are treated to a grippy rubber butt plate, enhancing wet-weather handling and conforming well to the shoulder for a comfortable shooting experience. The butt plate is also textured to add additional traction; though the texturing is less prominent than that of serrated butt plates, it still does its job well.

Inside, the Double Bell M700 is based on the Tanaka M700, a well-respected gas-powered sniper rifle system which is approaching its second decade in the Airsoft marketplace. Known for its phenomenal realism and well-thought-out internals, the Tanaka M700 system is one for the most dedicated snipers out there.

While it won't produce groupings as tight as a well-set-up spring-powered sniper rifle, this gas-powered M700 is equipped with a 6.02mm tightbore inner barrel, granting an accuracy edge with high-quality BBs and a slight FPS boost from improved gas efficiency.

The edge this beast has over spring-powered equivalents is its near-silent muzzle report when equipped with a suppressor, its effortless bolt through and its impressively realistic build quality. If you're used to a VSR, the Double Bell M700 Real Wood Gas Bolt Action Sniper Rifle will be a novel experience with plenty of perks!

How to Adjust the PCS Bolt

The PCS bolt of the Double Bell M700 can be adjusted through the magazine well or by removing the bolt entirely using the bolt release catch inside the trigger guard.

The PCS bolt offers FPS adjustment between approximately 420 FPS and 530 FPS using 0.20g BBs and standard-pressure green gas. We recommend exercising caution when using higher-pressure gas (red gas, VORSK V8, black gas, VORSK V12, etc.) and in hot weather conditions.

If you need a chronograph to measure and confirm FPS, you can find them here: Airsoft Chronographs

Use the following instructions to adjust FPS using the PCS Bolt:

  • Loosen the grub screw to the rear of the gas route bucking
  • With the grub screw fully loosened but not removed, turn the dial inside the recess behind the grub screw
  • With the dial all the way to the front, you're in the lowest FPS setting. With it at the rear, you're at the maximum
  • With your adjustment complete, retighten the grub screw and reinstall the bolt
