Double Eagle M920A Aeroknox AX//15 AEG Rifle - FALCON EFCS

If your current AR platforms are looking a bit long in the teeth, you can join the space-age at the head of the pack with the Double Eagle M920A Aeroknox AX//15! This full metal M4/AR-15 platform is based on the real steel AX//15, a real steel AR made by high end manufacturer Aeroknox LLC of Texas; boasting a dynamic, modern look with M-LOK slots, 20mm rails and QD sling points galore.

On the inside, the M902A AX//15 has the same goodies that made the previous Double Eagle releases so phenomenal, including the FALCON EFCS MOSFET, a 6.04mm tightbore inner barrel with rotary HOP-up unit and a reinforced gearbox with choice upgrades to extend the lifespan of the AEG and allow it to take pure advantage of the FALCON's 11.1V LiPo compatibility. Whether the polymer build of previous Double Eagle M9x series AEGs put you off or you were waiting for one that simply cannot be built using aftermarket parts, the AX//15 ticks all the boxes!

Starting at the front we can find a flawlessly CNC machined replica of the Aeroknox Butterfly muzzle brake, complete with laser engraved markings on each side reading "BUTTERFLY" with "AEROKNOX" and the real steel part number just below. This muzzle brake blends perfectly with the cutting-edge design of the AX//15 overall, but while it may be a real shame to leave it in a box gathering dust, you can mount a tracer or suppressor instead thanks to the rifle's 14mm CCW male threaded outer barrel. Just remember to remove the grub screw on the bottom of the brake before unscrewing it!

The outer barrel is 11 inches in length, making the AX//15 ideal for both CQB and outdoor skirmishes while providing a modern look paired with the 10.5-inch handguard. Visible through the handguard ports, we are treated to a mock gas block and gas tube, a feature often missed out in Airsoft replicas but nonetheless an important part of a realistic AR replica. We love it when manufacturers go above and beyond and don't compromise in areas like this, thus our love for Double Eagle!

The handguard itself is based on the real steel Aeroknox AX//15 handguard and constructed from CNC machined aluminium, boasting M-LOK negative space attachment slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions with an additional M-LOK slot and 20mm Picatinny rail at the front and rear up top. The M-LOK slots allow you to mount M-LOK accessories directly or use 20mm Picatinny rail adapters for M-LOK to add vertical or angled grips, tactical flashlights and PEQ/DBAL laser units should the mission require it.

The handguard's offset angles feature a mix of weight-reducing ports and grooves along with textured sections to provide extra grip for improved wet-weather handling. Included in the box is a pair of M-LOK rail covers based on the real steel Aeroknox RAIL//GRIPS which look awesome, fit the build perfectly and further enhance the AX//15's already superb handling. At the base of the handguard, we can find a QD sling socket on either side and more laser-engraved Aeroknox markings, with "AEROKNOX AX//15" on the right side and the Aeroknox logo on the left.

As we reach the receiver, we find a familiar sight, if we squint! The usual M4/AR-15 receiver has been thoroughly redesigned in the AX//15, with angular surfaces, weight reduction throughout and a weight-reduced upper 20mm Picatinny rail, meeting the handguard's 20mm rail seamlessly. The magazine well features stylish weight-reducing ports on the left side and a discrete Aeroknox logo in the corner on each side, showing off its brand pedigree while moving away from screaming "MY BRAND MADE THIS" and allowing the aesthetic of the AX//15 to speak for itself.

While the receiver has a unique design, the controls are all of the familiar and well-placed AR-15 variety, albeit with a few choice enhancements. The fire selector switch is extended considerably, making it very easy to operate with gloves but is quite firm, minimising the chances that it will be knocked out of position in the heat of battle. The selector has the usual 90-degree throw between modes. While the pre-installed FALCON EFCS allows the fire modes to be programmed to your requirements, the default fire modes are safe, semi-automatic and fully automatic, denoted with an X for safe, a O (circle) for semi and a ▢ (square) for full auto. If you are a PlayStation fan, this should make you smile!

The magazine release is located right where we would expect, on the right side of the magazine well, and is enlarged to make fast reloads easy when working under pressure while pumped full of adrenaline. The surface is textured to provide ample grip for wet weather operations and is also skeletonised to minimise added weight. The trigger guard is also enlarged and machined into the receiver, allowing for full-finger gloves to be used and improving the overall strength of the receiver when compared to the original AR receiver with its separate, modular trigger guard. Just like the mag release, the trigger guard is also weight-reduced with material removed from either side. These small weight reductions may not seem a big deal, but they add up and result in this full metal AR weighing a minuscule 2.3 kg!

The charging handle is the original M4/AR-15 low profile handle, matching well with the snag-free design of the AX//15 overall with its deleted mock forward assist and low profile brass deflector. Pulling the charging handle back will retract the mock bolt carrier and lock it to the rear, revealing the rotary HOP-up adjuster inside. The HOP-up allows you to extend your range and tune the AX//15 for different weights of BB, looking for the flattest possible trajectory. Once you have completed your HOP-up adjustment you can hit the mock bolt catch on the centre left of the receiver to release the mock bolt carrier with a satisfying metal-on-metal "clank".

Being an Aeroknox design, Double Eagle's AX//15 would not be complete without the Aeroknox ORION//GRIP pistol grip. This grip is a very unique design but feels fantastic in the hand, with a comfortable angle, high-quality polymer used and aesthetically pleasing recesses on each side which enhance grip. Also present on each side of the grip is the Aeroknox "A" logo, adding to the plethora of licenced trademarks on the AX//15 and heightening realism further still.

At the rear of the receiver, we have the good old M4/AR-15 buffer tube, providing 6 positions of adjustment for the pre-installed low profile stock. The buffer tube is constructed from alloy and also serves as the battery compartment of the AX//15. To remove the stock and access the battery compartment you will need to pull the adjustment pin of the stock out as far as it will go and slide the stock off to the rear.

Inside the buffer tube, you will find a Deans battery connector to which you mount your battery of choice. We recommend an 11.1V 1300mAh LiPo battery in stick configuration but some more compact nunchuck batteries such as the VP Racing 11.1V 1300mAh LiPo Crane stock battery will just about fit. If you need more battery space, you can always add a Crane stock thanks to the easy stock installation of buffer tube equipped ARs.

The stock itself features a grand total of 4 QD sling sockets. The pair at the front is ideally positioned for single-point sling use and the pair at the rear is ideally used with the front QD sockets on the handguard to mount a two-point sling. QD sling swivels are required to use these sockets, but there is also a conventional sling slot on the stock if you prefer a fixed sling. The adjustment lever of the stock is hidden inside the toe of the stock, kept well clear of snags to prevent accidental stock adjustments.

On the inside, the AX//15 is very well equipped, keeping pace with other Double Eagle EFCS-equipped AEGs but pulling ahead in its full metal construction. The inner barrel is a 6.04mm tightbore example, promising improved accuracy at range and a slight FPS boost thanks to improved air efficiency. The gears are constructed from steel and run on 8mm ball-bearing bushings, producing minimal audible drama as the gun fires and providing reduced friction for a longer lifespan. All of the gearbox internals are Tokyo Marui version 2 spec, meaning upgrades are easily within reach for those who simply cannot use an AEG without upgrading it!

As previously mentioned, the AX//15 is rocking the awesome Double Eagle FALCON EFCS MOSFET offering programmable fire controls which allow for burst modes or binary trigger to be programmed in using the selector switch and trigger of the AEG itself (instructions can be found below in the "Special Instructions" section). The FALCON also provides low voltage cutoff, preventing the AEG from being used when the battery voltage drops too low, and also allows you to select one of 3 different trigger sensitivity settings, from a hair trigger to a more realistic full pull. The trigger itself is a flat design which is great for pumping out those rapid semi-auto shots in CQB, made all the better by the astonishing trigger response provided by the FALCON.

If you like the look of the Double Eagle UTR556 and EK47, this is the ultimate iteration of that design. FALCON EFCS MOSFET

Please note that the gun's EFCS system is only compatible with LiPo Batteries, and is not compatible with LiFe or NiMh batteries.

Please note that both binary fire and burst modes can be set, as binary fire is applied to semi, and 1-5 fire mode is applied to full auto.

Please note that fitting the supplied Deans connector kit will constitute a modification of the replica. If you carry out this modification you will not be able to return your replica.

FALCON EFCS Protection Feature

Gearbox Protection

When the current is too high or abnormal the power supply on the EFCS will disconnect to protect the motor and battery, and the motor will vibrate three times.

If the battery's voltage is too high the EFCS power supply will automatically disconnect and the motor will vibrate twice.

Battery Protection

The FALCON EFCS has an operating voltage between 6-13v. If the voltage is too low or too high the power supply will be cut. If the voltage of your battery is too low, the FALCON will notify the user via 5 vibrations, then cut the power to protect your battery.

Falcon Electronic Fire Control System

1-5 Shot Mode

• Set the fire selector to SAFE.
• Pull the trigger and hold for 3 seconds to enter programming mode, and release when the motor makes a sound.
• Pull the trigger once and release it to enter 1-5 shot programming mode. Release it when the motor makes a sound.
• Pull the trigger 1-5 times depending on the amount of shots you want a single trigger pull to make.
• Set the fire select to full auto.

Trigger Sensitivity

• Set the fire selector to SAFE.
• Pull the trigger and hold for 3 seconds to enter programming mode, and release when the motor makes a sound.
• Pull the trigger twice and release it to enter sensitivity programming mode. Release it when the motor makes a sound.
• Pull the trigger between 1-3 times for different levels of sensitivity.
