EMG Colt 1911 "Elite Commander" T8 GBB Pistol

Starting at the front of this classic pistol, we find the threaded outer barrel. It is 12mm CCW female threading, so a thread adapter will be required if you wish to attach the common 14mm CCW muzzle devices, such as suppressors or tracer units.

Then, at the front of the slide, we can find a front iron sight blade. This design means no amount of bumping and shaking will cause your sights to walk out of alignment. It features a dot for easy target acquisition when quickly aiming down sights. Another benefit of this type of sight is the low snag nature and a smoother draw from your holster when it's time to start blasting.

Due to the 1911's extremely instinctive design, holding this pistol gives you the feeling you have held it before, with the sights being easy to align and large enough for easy acquisition, plus, all the controls falling right under your fingers, this pistol was clearly designed with ergonomics in mind.

The slide features a full Colt design, with eye-catching trademarks on the left side etched into the metal. These make the pistol look just like the real thing! It has both forward and rear serrations on both sides to ensure you have a solid grip when cocking the pistol, regardless of the weather conditions or shooting position.

Moving on, we can find the mock ejection port, through which the outer barrel's .45 ACP engraved markings can be seen. The slide release catch has chequered texturing on the upper surface to ensure it can be operated when wet or in adverse weather. Likewise, the magazine release is textured and is right where you expect to find it, well within reach of your thumb whilst firing, on the left side of the grip.

On the rear of the pistol's frame, we have what is known as a beavertail grip safety, a hallmark feature of the 1911, allowing it to get away with a super short trigger pull and still be safe by disconnecting the trigger until the pistol is gripped in a ready-to-shoot position. The beavertail safety ensures the trigger cannot be inadvertently pressed when drawing from a holster, which can be quite a painful experience.

Just above the grip safety, we come to the hammer, which has a skeletonised design. This cuts down some weight but also gives the pistol a very modern style. The hammer set of the Colt 1911 "Elite Commander" T8 GBB Pistol is constructed from steel for improved durability and reliability.

The trigger features the iconic 1911 trigger, comfortable on the finger and easy to pull, every time. The front side features a lined design for optimal grip, even in wet weather conditions. The EMG Colt 1911 "Elite Commander" T8 GBB Pistol doesn't bother with any ports or skeletonised design, because it doesn't need to when the pistol looks this iconic!

The safety lever can be found on the left side of the frame and sits comfortably under the shooter's thumb, perfect for cocked and locked carry. This safety lever is of a period-accurate design, with no extensions or other silly modern bits, just how it's supposed to be.

The polymer pistol grips of this sidearm also feature a Colt design. With a textured pattern on half of it and a large Colt logo in the centre. This looks identical to the pistol grips found on the real steel Colt Combat Elite pistol series. Just behind the magazine release, there is a cutout, designed as a comfortable place for you to rest your thumb.

The EMG Colt 1911 "Elite Commander" T8 GBB Pistol is supplied with a green gas magazine; however, the magwell of this pistol has cutouts for an Army Armament CO2 magazine. This allows you to use the same pistol all year round, so long as you stock up on the correct magazines for the weather.

Internally, this pistol was built to perform, with the aforementioned steel hammer set along with a 70-degree hop-up bucking, gas route seal & enhanced piston head.
