Whether you're working on a WWII USGI loadout or you collect classic firearms replicas, the EMG Colt® M1911A1 GBB Pistol is ideal. A full metal build with gorgeous officially licensed, period-accurate Colt trademarks, this 1911 GBB replicates the M1911A1 variant issued to the US military throughout WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Internally based on TM's 1911 design, the EMG M1911A1 is ready for upgrades for the tinkerers, but boasts redesigned rubber seals and steel hammer group components to extend lifespan and improve both gas efficiency and reliability. The inner barrel is also a 6.03mm tightbore, giving you an edge in accuracy as long as you do your part.

While it's the perfect pairing for an M1A1 Thompson, M1 Carbine, 1903 Springfield or M1 Garand for a USGI loadout, the M1911A1 was also used in limited numbers with a suppressor by the OSS (Office of Strategic Services), opening up interesting, unconventional loadout opportunities. If you love a classic sidearm brimming with authenticity, the EMG Colt® M1911A1 GBB Pistol belongs in your holster!

Description

Starting at the front of the slide, we can find the front iron sight blade, which is a simple and fixed design, meaning no amount of bumping and shaking will have your sights walk out of alignment.

The fixed iron sights are also period-accurate to the original M1911 and M1911A1, and given the age of the design of the real pistol, we are lucky we have sights at all. Another benefit of this type of sight is the low-snag nature; the lack of adjustability means less to snag on and a smoother draw from your holster when it is sidearm time.

At the tip of the outer barrel, we're treated to 11mm CW female barrel threading, meaning a tracer or suppressor can be fitted using a 14mm CCW thread adapter. The real M1911A1 was used with suppressors during WWII by the OSS, but these were rare due to the need to replace the barrel with a threaded alternative. If you're going silent, we recommend choosing the shortest and lightest unit you can find to maintain gas efficiency.

Due to the 1911's extremely instinctive design, holding this pistol gives you the feeling you have held it before, with the sights being easy to align and large enough to be easy to acquire, and all the controls falling right under your fingers, right where they should be.

Moving rearwards, we can find the mock ejection port, through which the outer barrel is visible with its realistic .45 ACP engraved markings. The rear of the slide features serrations on both sides to ensure the shooter has a solid grip when cocking the pistol, regardless of the weather conditions.

On the left side of the slide, we're treated to officially licensed Colt trademarks, with the period-accurate pony logo, patent information and Colt's Hartford facility details, all flawlessly engraved. These markings perfectly match the real M1911 of the WWII era, making this a fantastic piece for re-enactment, use as a film prop or for a WWII-themed mancave display.

The markings continue on the right side of the frame, with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "M1911 A1 U.S. ARMY" engraved just below the slide. The engravings are done to a fantastic standard, adding an extra level of realism to this already realistic full metal build.

As we move rearwards, we can find the slide release catch, which has checkering on the upper surface to ensure it can be operated when wet or in adverse weather. Likewise, the magazine release is textured and is right where you expect to find it, well within reach of your thumb whilst firing, on the left side of the grip.

The front face of the trigger also includes checkering and is of a straight travel (aka straight back) design, similar to its descendant, the Hi-Capa. This allows for a consistent and accurate trigger pull, taking full advantage of the light and short pull of a 1911 trigger.

The safety lever can be found on the left side of the frame and sits comfortably under the shooter's thumb, perfect for cocked and locked carry. This safety lever is of a period-accurate design, with no extensions or other silly modern bits, and works just great the way it is.

On the rear of the pistol's frame, we have what is known as a beavertail grip safety; a hallmark feature of the 1911 allowing it to get away with a super short trigger pull and still be safe by disconnecting the trigger until the pistol is gripped fully and properly. The beavertail safety ensures the trigger cannot be inadvertently pressed when drawing from a holster, which can be quite a painful experience!

Just above the grip safety, we come to the hammer, which is the appropriate "Spur" hammer design to match the real WW2 era 1911 pistol. The spur hammer allows you to cock the pistol by pulling the hammer back more easily, and while this isn't really useful for Airsoft, it is still great fun to play with and makes the M1911A1 a great movie prop.

The polymer Faux wooden grips have effective diamond checkering to ensure the pistol doesn't slip out of your hands during wet weather and are the correct shape and style for the old-school WW2/Korean War/Vietnam era 1911.

At the bottom of the frame, behind the magazine well, we have a lanyard loop, an extremely useful feature that allows you to retain your pistol even if it slips out of your holster. A lanyard loop can be the difference between losing your pistol after a long crawl in the woods and having that feeling of relief when you realise it has followed you!

Special Instructions

These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.

FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.

Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.

Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
