Platform Details
Starting at the front, we can find an elongated birdcage-style flash hider, finished in metallics of your choice. The flash hider mounts to 14mm CCW male barrel threading, meaning you're ready to rock with a tracer or suppressor if required, at a small sacrifice that your beautifully finished flash hider will be left out of the fun!
Next up, we come to the M-LOK handguard, a 5-inch example offering 2 M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. This means you can add M-LOK accessories to suit the mission at hand, from tactical flashlights to foregrips, rail covers and even a bipod. Being a lightweight, agile build, we don't think you'll need a bipod, but a compact vertical foregrip is a great choice for CQB setups.
On top of the handguard, we're treated to a 20mm Picatinny rail, running all the way back to meet the receiver rail seamlessly. This means you've got plenty of space to play with when it comes to 20mm Picatinny accessories, whether you want to add an aiming laser for the cool factor or a Novritsch Clipcam Cheater Catcher to record your skirmish thrills and spills.
Pre-installed on the top rail, we have a set of G&G's unique flip-up iron sights, a hybrid sight set which features an open light-enhancing sight when flipped down, and a rifle-style adjustable aperture sight when flipped up. The light-enhancing sights are difficult to look down if you're used to a realistic cheek weld, but since we don't need to worry about recoil, you can keep the Batto off your shoulder and hold it out like a big pistol to make use of the high-vis sights in low-light conditions.
The sights are quick and easy to deploy, requiring no fiddly catches or buttons; simply flip them up by hand, and when you're finished, slap them back down again. The front sight can be adjusted for elevation (i.e., raised and lowered) by turning the dial in the centre, and the rear sight is windage adjustable through the drum-style dial on the right side of the rear sight.
If you're running an optic or prefer a minimalist setup, the sights can be removed using a flathead screwdriver, giving you plenty of space for a red dot sight or scope of your choice. We recommend a red dot sight, as they're easy to use and perfect for Airsoft engagement ranges, but make sure you add a lens protector!
The receiver itself is a unique G&G design, mimicking modern "billet" AR-15 receivers found on high-end real steel builds. The upper features angled surfaces to continue the visual language of the handguard, with serrations at the rear for a high-speed look.
The controls are placed the same way as a standard M4/AR-15, meaning an easy transition for those used to more boring M4 builds. The fire selector switch is on the left side, a three-position switch with a 90-degree throw between each fire mode.
Sitting right beneath the thumb when the Batto is held in a ready position, the selector is easy to work but not so easy that it can be bumped out of place by mistake. Available modes are safe, semi-automatic, and fully automatic, and the switch itself is enhanced with more prominent surfaces and texture for improved control.
The charging handle is located at the top rear of the receiver, featuring an attractive metallic finish which matches the other fire controls and trim parts. This is an ambidextrous "raptor" style charging handle which can be pulled from either side. Pull the charging handle back to retract the mock bolt, drop the dust cover and lock the bolt back, revealing the rotary HOP-up unit inside.
The HOP-up allows you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your BBs by turning the rotary adjuster dial, seeking the flattest possible trajectory. We recommend using 0.25g BBs for indoor gameplay and 0.28g BBs for outdoors, as G&G's HOP-up buckings are high-performance and can easily handle 0.28g ammo. Once your HOP-up is set and you're ready to rock, you can hit the ping-pong-paddle-shaped bolt release catch on the centre-left of the receiver and release the mock bolt with a satisfying "clank".
The lower receiver design is also a unique G&G look, with a reprofiled magazine well and an enlarged, weight-reduced trigger guard. Receivers of this style are usually only seen in high-end real steel competition-shooting rifles; it's nice to see the elite looks of real steel ARs translating through to Airsoft!
The magazine release is an ambidextrous example, offering a textured button on each side of the magazine well for easy access for left or right-handed shooters. The button is a push-through design, and the mag holds nicely and tightly when inserted, with minimal side-to-side wobble while being easy to remove. Just beware of the extended follower present on the magazine; this must be pushed inside the mag to insert it when not loaded. If the magazine is empty and won't lock in, make sure the follower is not protruding from the magazine feed port.
Moving back, we come to the pistol grip, a unique G&G design which is well liked by Airsofters and used on any of G&G's CM, CG and GC series AEGs. The grip is an ergonomic design with a filled-out backstrap to support the web of the hand and crackle-textured wrap-around panels to enhance wet-weather handling, with or without gloves.
At the rear of the receiver, we're equipped with an ambidextrous sling plate made from robust steel, ensuring it will never fail. This allows a single-point sling to be fitted on either side, but can also be used with an aftermarket front sling point to allow for a two-point sling setup.
Following the sling plate, we come to the 6-position M4/AR-15 buffer tube, providing 6 adjustment positions for the pre-installed GOS-V16 minimalist stock so you can adjust to suit your body type and loadout. The buffer tube is made from aluminium and also serves as the battery compartment.
To access the battery compartment, you'll need to hold the adjustment lever on the bottom of the stock down and slide it all the way off to the rear. Inside the buffer tube, you'll find a mini-Tamiya battery connector. We recommend a 7.4V 1100mAh LiPo for an easy fit and great performance.
At the rear, we have the GOS-V16 minimalist sliding stock, one of the long line of unique G&G stock designs. The GOS-V16 keeps weight and bulk to a minimum, with a low-profile adjustment lever on the bottom (finished in black), a grippy rubber butt plate and a QD sling socket on either side, ready for a QD sling swivel.
The stock also features a removable cheek rest on the top, providing a similar cheek weld to a standard AR stock while reducing weight and bulk. If you're running a full face mask or you want to keep the weight to the absolute minimum, you can remove the cheek rest by lifting it free, and reinstall it by snapping it on again.
Internals
G&G AEGs are known for reliability, proven internals and a high standard of quality. This continues with the Batto, which features the MIG reinforced gearbox cut for compatibility with Gate TITAN and ASTER ETUs, should you feel the need to bring your Batto into the space age with advanced programmable features.
As it comes, G&G has enhanced its MIG gearbox with 8mm steel bushings, a big advancement in terms of durability compared to the brass bushings of previous releases. The gearset is a standard 18:1 ratio example driven by a high-quality 18K RPM motor, and all gearbox internals are standard TM spec. New to the Batto is a true quick change spring system, making power tuning easy with minimal dissassembly.

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
