If you're cool with making enemies at your local CQB site, the G&G Armament ESG B-10 2.0 Compact Gas Shotgun belongs in your arsenal. This bullpup shotgun is ultra-compact and hits out with a devastating 5 or 10 BBs per shot, making it one of the scariest foes you can encounter on a skirmish site.

Boasting full metal construction and compatibility with M4/AR-15 AEG magazines, the ESG B-10 is an entirely unique design and looks absolutely slick in its ultra-compact "2.0" form. If CQB domination is your objective, the G&G ESG B-10 2.0 Compact Gas Shotgun is the right tool for the job!

Starting at the front, you cannot help but notice the massive shotgun-style barrel bore of the ESG B-10 2.0, making staring down the barrel of this thing a very intimidating prospect. The barrel of this, the 2.0 version, features 14mm CCW male threading, allowing you to add a tracer unit for an instinct-aiming edge. The pre-installed muzzle device is a polymer sound amplifier, giving this mighty piece a booming muzzle report.

Up top, we have a20mm Picatinny rail running along the upper receiver, providing plenty of room for your choice of optical sight, PEQ lasers and even RunCam action cameras to record your skirmish prowess for the world to enjoy. The rail features a weight-reducing channel along the top, which can be used as a makeshift "gutter sight".

Moving rearwards, we come to the fire controls, which are positioned in front of the magazine, as a "bullpup" platform should be. The fire selector sits directly above the pistol grip, offering SAFE - 5RND - 10RND fire modes with a 90-degree throw between each, meaning familiarity and an easy training transition for M4/AR-15 users. The 5 and 10-shot modes operate in semi-automatic mode, offering shots as quickly as you can crank them out.

The pistol grip itself is a unique G&G ergonomic design based on popular real steel ergonomic grips, offering a filled-out backstrap and a more vertical angle than conventional "A2" style grips, reducing wrist fatigue and allowing for a more natural hold position with this short-barrelled platform.

As we reach the rear of the ESG B-10, we come to the action with its massive shotgun-style mock ejection ports on each side and significantly enlarged M4/AR-15 style magazine release. Despite being a bullpup, known for its awkward reload process, the mag release is very easy to find when working in the dark or under pressure, meaning speedy reloads are not out of the question. The surface is also textured, meaning you'll likely never slip off the mag release at a critical moment.

The ejection ports are present on each side, and the charging handle can be swapped, though this is an aesthetic feature and not relevant to the in-game functionality of the ESG B-10.

The stock itself is a comfortable, modern design with a serrated butt plate for optimal grip and a sloped cheekpiece for comfort. On each side, we have another QD sling socket, ready to be fitted with a QD sling swivel and used either with a two-point sling, making use of the front socket, or a single-point sling.

Being M4/AR-15 AEG magazine compatible keeps spare magazines economical, meaning G&G won't make you pay to keep the ESG B-10 in play! The gas reservoir is located inside the stock, with the fill valve on the bottom, just to the rear of the magazine well.

Filling the reservoir requires inverting the shotgun and gas can, as you would fill a GBB pistol magazine. This reservoir holds enough gas for around 100 trigger pulls (10 shots per pull), meaning potentially 10 mags' worth of shooting before you need to refill.

Performance-wise, while the ESG B-10 2.0 is a serious contender up close, its lack of a HOP-up restricts it to approximately 10-15 meters optimal effective range. This doesn't mean you can't use it in woodland, but it does mean you will have to get very close to make those shots land.

In CQB, it's a different story. The ESG B-10 is practically unrivalled in its firepower up close and handles like a dream, making it perfect for any close-quarters scenario. The shotgun-style spread provided in the 5-shot mode is perfect for dealing with fast-moving targets, letting you point the ESG B-10 in the rough direction of an enemy player and benefit from considerably improved hit probability and far faster follow-up shots than either electric or pump-action shotguns.

As a CQB tool for the door-kicking specialist, you couldn't ask for better than the G&G ESG B-10. This shotgun shoots as quickly as you can pull the trigger, sending an almost inescapable cluster of BBs at the enemy, feeding from common and ever-available M4/AR-15 AEG magazines.
