A gorgeous build combining colour-changing heat gradation accents with cold-hearted matt black parts, this Hi-Capa-based design is one of the best-built GBB pistols on the market and is packed with innovation, which gives it a significant performance edge.

Inside, the GPM1911 CP is broadly based on the TM Hi-Capa internal design, but sprinkled with G&G innovation. The rocket valve is the G&G whirl valve system, designed to spin during cycling to reduce frost build-up. This not only reduces FPS deviation between shots but also improves accuracy considerably compared to standard Hi-Capa nozzles. The fill valve is also enlarged, ensuring you can fill your mags double time and avoid missing out on the action!

Starting at the front, we can take note of the realistic barrel bore design, with a slightly recessed inner barrel to provide the enemy team with a realistic view as you send them back to respawn. While the barrel is not threaded, it does have a neat trick built in. Inserting the included bullet tool into the front allows you to adjust the unique HOP-up system.

Adjusting the HOP-up varies the amount of backspin applied to your BBs, letting you adjust for different ammo weights to get the flattest possible trajectory. The HOP-up bucking/rubber is a standard VSR/GBB design, and the pre-installed bucking is a G&G Green Bucking made from cold-resistant rubber, widely regarded as a great bucking which doesn't need upgrading.

The outer barrel itself is finished with a gloss heat gradation effect, mimicking the colour changes which occur when titanium is heated to high temperatures. This finish is positively mesmerising, changing from yellow through blue and purple as the light catches different surfaces, with a robust surface coating to resist wear and tear. While it is cold to the touch, the GPM1911 CP Rainbow Edition is hot stuff!

Surrounding the barrel, the slide is finished in contrasting matt black, making the heat gradation accents really pop. The slide is made from strong fibre-reinforced polymer designed to provide optimal gas efficiency while withstanding the rigours of hard use. The top and sides of the slide feature weight reduction ports, which improve cyclic rate and add considerably to the high-speed racegun looks.

The front of the slide also features slide serrations, matching the look of the rear serrations perfectly. These allow you to rack the slide from the front or rear, benefiting from enhanced handling in any weather conditions, with or without gloves.

The slide is also ported around the recoil spring housing at the bottom front, giving us a glimpse of its heat gradation finish through the dynamic, angled ports. The iron sights on the top of the slide are finished to match, bringing the stylish colour scheme together as a completed look. The front sight features a white dot, and the rear features anti-glare texture for ease of use in bright conditions.

These sights are adjustable for windage and elevation using the dials on the right side and top of the rear sight, letting you get pinpoint accuracy as long as you take the time to zero them. Adjustable sights are one of the enviable features of the Hi-Capa platform, ensuring you don't have to make do with the approximate accuracy of fixed sights.

On either side of the slide, we are equipped with G&G Armament trademarks, flawlessly engraved for a professional look. While these aren't "real steel" trademarks, they are very nicely designed, precisely engraved and follow the format of real steel 2011 pistols perfectly. The right-side markings read "GPM1911 CP", and those on the left read "G&G Armament" in G&G's unique font.

At the rear of the slide, mounted to the frame, we have our skeletonised hammer, finished in heat gradation and fitting in nicely with the vibrant, custom styling of the GPM1911 CP overall. The skeletonised design helps minimise hammer weight, but this won't mean low FPS as the hammer hits with a lot of authority when the trigger is pulled.

Moving down, we come to the frame, finished in heat gradation to complete the look. The frame is every bit as flawlessly machined and finished as the slide, boasting G&G Armament markings on each side and a 20mm Picatinny frame rail at the front, ready for a tactical flashlight or aiming laser.

Following the frame rail, we can take note of the extended slide lock/release lever, featuring an extended ledge to put this essential control easily within reach for those with smaller hands. The slide lock/release allows you to manually release the slide from its locked position at the rear, either when you've finished shooting or after a reload. You can also lock the slide open for a chamber inspection by pulling the slide back and pushing upwards on the lever.

At the rear of the frame, we come to the manual safety catches, mirrored on either side for ease of use for left or right-handed shooters. The manual safety allows you to carry the pistol "cocked and locked" safely, ready for a rapid engagement, straight from the draw. When deactivated, the safety also makes a fantastic "gas pedal" style thumb rest, allowing you to control recoil easily during rapid fire.

On the back of the grip, we have yet another safety device, known as the "beavertail grip safety". This safety prevents the pistol from being fired unless it is pressed in, ensuring it will not fire when dropped. This also ensures that you don't accidentally hit the trigger during an adrenaline-pumped reload. The beavertail present on the GPM1911 CP is an extended design, featuring an extension to ensure the safety is disabled as soon as the pistol is gripped.

Following a standard Hi-Capa modular build format, the frame and grip are separate pieces. The grip module is constructed from high-density polymer and features crackle texturing on the sides, with pyramidal texture on the front and rear. This provides the gripping qualities necessary for use in all weather conditions, with or without gloves.

As part of the Hi-Capa design, the trigger guard is integrated into the polymer pistol grip module, a squared trigger guard with a flat front face. On the front face, we're equipped with gripping texture for the support hand, allowing you to keep the muzzle flat during rapid fire using the "European Grip" technique.

At the base of the grip, we can find a low-profile magazine well flare, integrated into the grip module. This part is intended to help speed up reloads by providing a widened route to the magazine well, allowing for "eyes up" reloads and easier reloads on the move. While this isn't as wide a flare as competition-style Hi-Capas, it still does its job while maintaining a snag-free profile well suited to a combat pistol.
