If you love hyper-aggressive styling in a unique 1911 build, the Golden Eagle 3317 1911 Strike Warrior GBB Pistol should suit your needs! A menacing build with a truly scary meat-tenderiser-style compensator at the front, this unique 1911 is inspired by the Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior, an original polymer TM design recreated by GE with a realistic full-metal build.

Inside, this very affordable GBB pistol has us rather impressed! The skeletonised hammer and many hammer group components are made from steel, which considerably improves strength compared to the usual cast zinc alloy parts. The inner barrel is also a 6.02mm tightbore example, providing an accuracy boost when used with high-quality ammo. Whether you need a sidearm which telegraphs aggression or are looking for a cheap, unique expansion for your collection, the Golden Eagle 3317 1911 Strike Warrior GBB Pistol is a fantastic choice!

Description

If you're a 1911 fan seeking a sidearm which will have the enemy team retreating on sight, the Golden Eagle 3317 1911 Strike Warrior GBB Pistol is the way to go! A full metal 1911 gas blowback with an intense aesthetic, GE's Strike Warrior is effectively a full metal clone of the TM 1911 Strike Warrior, benefitting from a more realistic feel and stronger recoil while maintaining full aftermarket compatibility.

Inside, this affordable build is remarkably well equipped, boasting a robust steel hammer and hammer group components to extend lifespan and improve long-term reliability. Also inside is a 6.02mm tightbore inner barrel, a generous pre-upgrade to enhance accuracy with high-quality ammo. If you love the "Strike Warrior" look but need the realistic feel of full metal, the Golden Eagle 3317 1911 Strike Warrior GBB Pistol is ideal!

Starting at the front, we can find the "Strike" compensator, an incredibly aggressive muzzle device inspired by real steel chokes and muzzle brakes designed for breaching locks and hinges. While you don't be shooting off locks with an Airsoft pistol, the compensator adds an utterly unique look to the build, with a healthy dose of bold, aggressive styling. While the comp isn't razor-sharp, we recommend exercising caution when using the Strike Warrior in-game and checking with the site staff to confirm it is suitable.

Following the comp, we come to the slide, which is a shortened "commander" length slide, just like the original TM Strike Warrior. The slide features serrations at the rear, allowing you to easily rack the pistol in wet weather, with or without gloves. The iron sight setup is a set of simple fixed combat sights, with the rear sight sitting slightly closer to the front, as it is in real steel "Detonics" slides and certain custom "commander" slides.

At the rear of the slide, we can find the hammer, a skeletonised design made from robust steel to enhance long-term durability. Surrounding the hammer, the slide is scalloped to allow for manual cocking and de-cocking, giving you a bit more room to get your thumb on the hammer than the typical 1911 build.

Moving down to the frame, we can find an extended 20mm Picatinny rail, matching the length of real steel Kimber frames and allowing more versatility in where you mount your accessories. The frame rail interfaces seamlessly with the compensator, providing an integral look and clean aesthetics overall. If you don't trust yourself to run around with such a spikey pistol or you need to remove the slide to adjust the HOP-up, you can remove the compensator by removing the allen screw at the front of the frame rail.

The HOP-up of the Strike Warrior is on the outer barrel, accessible with the slide removed, as it is on most GBB 1911 platforms. To remove the slide, you'll first need to unscrew the Allen screw on the bottom of the frame rail and remove the compensator. With this done, remove the magazine and rack the slide. Next, pull the slide back so the slide lock/release lever aligns with the smaller of the cutouts on the left side of the slide, and push the slide lock lever through from the left side.

With this done, push the slide forward, and it can be removed from the frame. The gear-style HOP-up adjuster is on the left side of the outer barrel, allowing you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your BBs, seeking the flattest possible trajectory. This HOP-up unit accepts TM GBB/VSR style HOP-up buckings and inner barrels, fantastic news for those who love to upgrade their replicas.

The slide release catch has checkering on the upper surface to ensure it can be operated when wet or in adverse weather. Likewise, the magazine release is textured and is right where you expect to find it, well within reach of your thumb whilst firing, on the left side of the grip.

The grip panels of the Strike Warrior are a modernised textured design, pairing well with the Kimber-style frame. The grips are made from high-density polymer and are equipped with spider web-style texture to improve traction. The hammer spring housing at the rear and the front strap are also equipped with machined pyramidal texture, further enhancing handling qualities, especially in wet weather.

At the base of the grip, we can find what is known as a magazine well flare or flared magwell, designed to help guide your magazine in during a reload. This makes reloads on the move much easier and allows you to continue to scan for targets as you bring your sidearm back into action. A flared magwell is an essential feature for competition shooting setups, but is rapidly translating across to modern combat pistols, as the advantages are obvious.

The trigger of the Strike Warrior is a flat design, ideal for rapid double-taps. To keep your finger consistently positioned, the trigger includes a bevel at the top and bottom, placing your finger in the centre. This trigger is a straight travel (aka straight back) design, similar to the 1911's double-stack descendant, the Hi-capa. This allows for a consistent and accurate trigger pull, taking full advantage of the light, short pull of a 1911 trigger.

The safety lever can be found on either side of the frame and sits comfortably under the shooter's thumb, perfect for cocked and locked carry. Unlike the original 1911 safety first designed over 100 years ago, this safety lever is an ambidextrous example, presenting an extended lever on each side, which locks the trigger when pushed up and can be used as a thumb rest when pushed down.

On the rear of the frame, we have what is known as a beavertail grip safety, a hallmark feature of the 1911, allowing it to get away with a super short trigger pull and still be safe by disconnecting the trigger until the pistol is gripped fully and properly. The beavertail safety ensures the trigger cannot be inadvertently pressed when drawing from a holster, which can be quite a painful experience in Airsoft, let alone real steel. The style of grip safety used on the 1911 Strike Warrior is a low-profile example, providing minimal interruption of the natural 1911 ergonomics while still providing a significant safety benefit.

On the inside, the Golden Eagle 1911 Strike Warrior is fully Tokyo Marui compatible, which is great news for those of us who cannot touch an Airsoft gun without upgrading it. As it comes, GE saw fit to include a 6.02mm tightbore inner barrel, providing a slight raise in FPS, improved accuracy and slightly better gas efficiency than a standard 6.08 bore barrel.

The hammer is also made from steel, as are many of the internal trigger group components, a considerable reliability advantage compared to stock cast alloy trigger parts. For the price of this pistol, this is quite the surprise, as is the smooth feel of the CNC aluminium slide and the impressive consistency when put on the chronograph. When rapid-firing, the FPS will drop as it does with any GBB pistol, but if shot carefully, you will be as surprised as we were!

If you need a full metal sidearm with a vibe of unmatched aggression, the Golden Eagle 3317 1911 Strike Warrior GBB Pistol is your best bet. A great value package with a hefty full metal build, this unconventional 1911 will certainly draw curious eyes on game day!
