  • Full metal construction
  • 6.02mm Tightbore inner barrel
  • Combat Master-styled CNC aluminium slide

If you're looking for an affordable sidearm with some real steel inspiration, check this out! The Golden Eagle 3345 Hi-Capa 5.1 GBB Pistol features a classic Hi-Capa frame, similar to the original Tokyo Marui one and combines it with the ultra-modern, cutting-edge Combat Master-styled slide.

This Golden Eagle Hi-capa has a 6.02mm tightbore inner barrel, adding to its accuracy potential, improving gas efficiency and raising FPS slightly. Golden Eagle also saw fit to add an 11mm CW female threaded outer barrel, meaning you don't need a new outer barrel to fit a tracer or suppressor, just an 11mm CW to 14mm CCW adapter.

Unlike many other cheap GBB pistols, the Golden Eagle Hi-capa feels buttery smooth when cycling and is remarkably consistent, pointing to well-made internals and tight tolerances.

Description

Golden Eagle's Hi-capa range presents unprecedented value, offering a Tokyo Marui clone Hi-capa with full metal construction and fantastic build quality straight out of the box. This is a 5.1 example, offering superior range and accuracy compared to other variants, thanks to its longer inner barrel.

Starting at the front, we find 11mm CW female threads at the tip of the outer barrel, allowing a tracer unit or suppressor to be mounted using an 11mm CW female-to-14 mm CCW male thread adapter. The barrel itself is finished in a sleek black with ported cutouts, adding a nice bit of visual interest to the otherwise plain Hi-capa 4.3 design.

On either side of the slide, we have a single port cut at an angle to match the slide serrations, giving us a glimpse of the fancy ported outer barrel beneath. The slide serrations are flawlessly cut with not a blemish to be found. Up top, we have our front iron sight, which is a light-enhancing sight with a green insert. This type of sight is fantastic for low-light use and fast target acquisition!

The rear sight is positioned at the rear of the slide (who would have thought?) and is constructed from steel, offering both windage and elevation adjustment. Windage adjustments can be applied using the flathead screw on the right side, and the screw on the top controls elevation adjustment. Adjustable sights are rare on a pistol, and these are fantastic; if you intend to shoot at long range with this sidearm, make sure you zero them in!

The adjustable HOP-up of the 3345 Hi-Capa is located on the bottom of the outer barrel and is accessible with the slide removed, in "field stripped" condition. To remove the slide, you will first need to remove the magazine and rack the slide to cock the hammer. With this done, you can pull the slide back to align the slide lock lever with the rearmost cutout on the left side of the slide.

With the slide in that position, you can push the slide release catch through from the right side of the frame, after which the slide can be slid forward and removed from the front of the pistol. The adjustable HOP-up allows you to tune the 3345 Hi-Capa for different ammo weights and extend your range, adjusting the dial until the trajectory is as flat as possible.

Both the hammer and trigger are skeletonised, reducing weight and providing customised race-gun aesthetics which fit the Hi-capa perfectly. Next up, we reach the frame of the pistol, which is constructed in standard Hi-Capa fashion, with a metal upper frame containing the internal parts and a lower pistol grip/trigger guard module made of polymer.

Moving rearward, we reach the slide release catch/disassembly lever, located on the left side of the pistol. This control features a serrated extension surface to allow easy access to release the slide, preventing it from slipping off the control, and a weight-reducing relief cut on its underside to minimise unnecessary weight in the build.

Behind the slide release catch is the manual safety, located on either side of the pistol and within easy reach of the shooter's thumb when holding the pistol in a firing grip. The manual safety allows the Hi-Capa 4.3 to be carried "cocked and locked" safely, with only a very slight movement required to remove the safety before taking the shot.

Also included is the hallmark 1911/Hi-Capa beavertail grip safety, which protrudes slightly from the rear of the grip. This safety ensures the pistol can be fired only when properly gripped, preventing accidental discharges.

The trigger, as with many other Hi-Capa and 1911 variants, has a very small amount of uptake before you get to the wall, and resets with a satisfying audible and tactile click with practically no overtravel. The trigger is what makes real 1911 and Hi-capa pistols so popular with competition shooters, and fortunately for Airsofters, this perk has translated well to the Airsoft equivalents. If you are shooting for speed, whether in a skirmish or for target shooting, you can't do much better than a Hi-capa trigger!

The magazine release is on the left side of the pistol, ideally positioned for right-handed shooters but also accessible to lefties with a bit of practice. This mag release is a low-profile design, ideally suited to a combat pistol where an accidental mag drop in the thick of it can mean life or death. Obviously, life or death doesn't enter the equation with an Airsoft gun, but gas magazines cost money, and they don't really like to be dropped if it can be avoided!

The grip section itself is an almost perfect copy of that of the TM Hi-Capa, featuring "OPS-M.R.P" markings on either side and a crackle texture to provide superb wet-weather functionality and comfort. The front of the grip features a pyramidal texture, matching perfectly with that at the rear on the hammer spring housing, further enhancing grip whether you wear gloves or not. As with most Hi-capa pistols, the grip is modular and can be swapped for aftermarket alternatives with the appropriate knowledge and tools.

On the inside, this Golden Eagle Hi-Capa is not messing around! The inner barrel is a tightbore 6.02mm example, improving gas efficiency, FPS and accuracy when compared with the standard 6.08 barrel bore. We love it when an affordable Airsoft gun gives us more upgrades than we deserve!

The HOP-up is adjustable and a perfect copy of the Tokyo Marui system, meaning aftermarket HOP-up bucking and nub upgrades are a go as long as you use the GBB/VSR type. The HOP-up can be adjusted by removing the slide, which can be done by removing the magazine, cocking the slide, aligning the slide lock lever with the smaller of the two cutouts on the left side of the slide, and pushing it through from the right. After this, you can push the slide forward and off the frame, revealing the HOP-up adjustment gear located on the bottom of the outer barrel.

If you're looking for a highly functional Airsoft pistol with an affordable price tag attached, the Golden Eagle 3345 Hi-Capa 5.1 GBB Pistol is perfect for the role. With its real-steel styled slide and reliable internal build, this GBB sidearm is perfect for filling the holster and taking some names at the skirmish.

Special Instructions

These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.

FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.

Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.

Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
