JJ Airsoft VZ-1 Style Russian Red Dot Sight

If you're working on a modern, Russian build and need an optic to top it off, the JJ Airsoft VZ-1 Style Russian Red Dot Sight is a slick option! Made from aluminium with steel mount components, the VZ-1 can be used either in high-rise configuration or low-profile, using only the parts included with the optic. A versatile feature, but it doesn't end here!

Offering 20 intensity/brightness settings for its 2MOA red dot reticle, the VZ-1 is ideal for varied environments, offering low brightness settings to keep the dot ultra-crisp in low-light and extremely bright settings at the top end, great for skirmishes in bright sunlight. It also features a setting for use with night vision devices, ideal for skirmishers who don't need carrots to see in the dark!

The controls are located on the left side of the optic, taking the form of a + and - button to adjust intensity in fine increments and a larger button marked "P", which rapidly switches between 3 intensity levels: low, medium and high. We can envision the "P" key being very useful for urban sites with a mix of indoor and outdoor gameplay, allowing you rapidly adjust brightness when transitioning from low-light to bright conditions or vice versa to keep your reticle visible, crisp and ready to rock. To turn the VZ-1 on, simply press any button. To turn it off, hold the + and - keys down.

The battery compartment is on the right side, positioned low so it doesn't interfere with your peripheral vision. The VZ-1 requires a single AAA cell(not included) to run, making it very economical, with batteries available at every corner shop. To access the battery compartment, simply unscrew the cap at the front. The direction of insertion is helpfully marked on the top of the battery compartment. 

The pre-installed QD mount boasts a locking mechanism which keeps it firmly mounted to your 20mm Picatinny rail. The lever needs to be pulled out to unlock, then you can open it, position it on your rail, close the lever, then push the lever in to lock. As mentioned, the mount can also be disassembled and the central section removed to convert it into a low mount using the included screws, and you can still use the QD mech in the low-profile configuration.
