If you're after a realistic revolver replica for target shooting which won't break the bank, the KWC Python .357 Magnum 6" CO2 Revolver is a fantastic option. A detailed full metal replica of the iconic Colt Python, powered by 12g CO2 bulbs, this beast hits out at an astonishing 460 FPS +/- 10% on 0.20g BBs, far too hot for skirmishing but ideal for plinking targets with devastating effect!

As far as realism is concerned, the KWC Python is about as authentic as it gets, feeding from removable single-shot cartridges with a rotating cylinder, double/single action trigger and cockable hammer. The set also includes a revolver speed loader so you can practice your gunplay and reload in a jiffy. Tipping the scales at just under 1kg, the Python is as hefty as it is realistic, providing a feeling of sheer power as you sweep between targets. If you need a bit of wheelgun action in your life, the KWC Python .357 Magnum 6" CO2 Revolver will put a big smile on your face!

Description

If you're after something to shoot when you're not on-site skirmishing, the KWC Python .357 Magnum 6" CO2 Revolver is one to watch! A full metal Colt Python replica which rips out at an insane 460 FPS on 0.20g BBs, this beast definitely won't be welcome on a skirmish site, but is a real beast to shoot, ringing steel targets like a church bell and tearing empty beverage cans a new BB hole. Whether you want a detailed revolver replica to fiddle with or you want a plinker with a devastating effect on target, the Python is the wheelgun you need!

Starting at the front, we can find the intimidating .357 magnum bore of the Python, with a slightly recessed inner barrel to hide the tell-tale signs that this is a replica and not the real thing. The recessed barrel means the Python makes an excellent prop for filmmaking or photoshoots, featuring detailed mock rifling for the first centimetre or so for those sexy, angled shots.

Running along the top of the barrel, we can find a ported barrel shroud, which is included in the real Python to help dissipate heat mirage and avoid interrupting the sight picture. On top of the shroud, we can find the front iron sight, which is a flat blade with anti-glare serrations which indexes perfectly with the adjustable open rear sight, remaining visible even in bright sunlight thanks to its glare-reducing texture. The rear sight lives on the top-strap, an adjustable open-notch sight which can be raised and lowered via the flathead screw on the top and moved side-to-side using the grub screw on the right side.

The controls of the Python are located on the left side of the frame, maintaining a standard revolver layout. The cylinder release is at the rear of the cylinder, requiring a rearward pull to unlock, after which the cylinder can be swung out to the left side for loading and reloading. Inside the cylinder, you'll find the six included revolver shells, which can be ejected by pushing on the cylinder axis pin/ejector rod. Loading the shells is as simple as dropping one into each chamber, but you can also use the included speed loader if timescale is an issue!

The hammer lives at the rear of the frame, a flat "spur" type hammer ideally suited for cocking with the thumb. The Python trigger system works just like the real thing, replicating the "double action/single action" mechanism perfectly. This means you have two choices when it comes to how you shoot: either cock the hammer before each shot for a short and light trigger pull or simply pull the trigger to actuate the hammer, rotate the cylinder and fire the shot in one motion. If you need to hit a distant target, we recommend cocking the hammer in "single action" mode, but if you need to get shots off in a hurry, simply pull the trigger as fast as you need.

Under the hammer, we have a hidden hammer/trigger lock safety, the only feature present in KWC's Python replica not included in the real deal. With the hammer un-cocked, simply push the safety catch forward to lock the hammer and trigger. The serrations on the surface of the safety make it easy to use in wet weather, and even when the safety is engaged, you can still open the cylinder to load or unload the Python.

Moving down, we come to the pistol grip, an ergonomic design with finger ridges to keep the Python firmly in your grasp. The grip also includes diamond checkering for optimal gripping qualities and the iconic revolver grip look. At the base of the grip, we can find the CO2 compartment, designed for 12g Unthreaded CO2 bulbs accessible using the included Allen key. Simply turn counter clockwise to open the compartment, and with your CO2 bulb inserted, turn clockwise to tighten the cap down and pierce the bulb. This design differs from the Dan Wesson revolver series in that the grip doesn't need to be split in half to insert a CO2 bulb, meaning the grip is made of much stronger stuff and feels far firmer in the hand.

When put to the test, we found the KWC Python to be a tad spicy for skirmishing, hitting out at an incredible 460 FPS +/- 10% using 0.20g BBs. While this may limit its use, the high FPS makes this a super-fun target shooting platform, turning beverage cans inside out with an ear-ringing crack with each shot. Unlike similar target shooting platforms, KWC's Python includes a fixed HOP-up, meaning you can shoot further and use heavier BBs for better wind-resistance (we recommend 0.25g or 0.28g).

If your collection lacks a wheelgun or you're after a beast of a target shooter for those weekends not spent on site, duking it out with the enemy team, the KWC Python .357 Magnum 6" CO2 Revolver will make you very happy indeed. With significant heft, an authentic build and functionality to match the real thing, shooting and handling the Python is an experience without equal!
