Description

If you're feeling speedy Hi-Capa builds but don't fancy the expense or hassle of building one, the Lancer Tactical Stryk Hi-Capa 5.1 GBB Pistol should be at the top of your shopping list! A full metal build with an exciting race-gun inspired aesthetic, the Stryk boasts a CNC aluminium slide, extended controls and a unique aesthetic, with discrete black or eye-catching purple on gold colour schemes to choose from.

Starting at the tip of the outer barrel, we can find a thread adapter mounted to the tip of the 5.1-inch outer barrel. A very generous move, especially considering the increasing popularity of using pistols with Tracer units in CQB skirmishes! The outer barrel threading is 11mm CW female, and the thread adapter features 14mm CCW male threads, enabling easy mounting of the most popular Airsoft muzzle devices.

Moving rearwards, we come to the full-sized Hi-Capa slide, which features hexagonal ports at the front and hexagonal texture at the rear, providing sporty looks in line with far more expensive custom builds. The ports extend over the top at the front of the slide, reducing weight for an edge in gas efficiency and cyclic speed.

At the top of the slide, we are treated to a very thoughtful and modern iron sight setup. The front sight blade contains a red light-enhancing insert, and the rear sight is a flat notch type with full adjustment for windage and elevation. This combination of sights is easy to acquire and align and eliminates the possibility of mixing up the sight dots, as is possible with a white dot sight setup. The rear sight can be adjusted for elevation using the adjustment screw on the top and for windage using the screw on the right side of the sight.

Moving down to the frame and pistol grip, we can find the controls of the Stryk Hi-Capa 5.1, extended versions of the well-liked 1911 controls layout, and very well placed for intuitive operation. The ambidextrous manual safety sits right beneath the shooter's thumb for fast access, and the extended slide release can also be reached from a firing grip. The manual safety locks the trigger and hammer, preventing the pistol from firing, but this obviously only works when the safety is on.

The Hi-Capa pistol series features an extra level of safety in the form of the beavertail grip safety, a proven design which dates back to this pistol's Granddaddy, the 1911. This safety prevents the pistol from firing if the grip safety is not depressed, meaning you will never have an accidental discharge from snagging the trigger on gear.

At the front of the alloy frame, we can find a 20mm Picatinny pistol rail, ideal for mounting tactical flashlights and lasers, should the mission require it. The magazine release can be found on the left side of the pistol and is a slightly raised design, which is easy to hit, but not so easy that you can accidentally drop your magazine in the heat of a firefight!

Both the hammer and trigger of the Stryk are skeletonised designs, reducing the weight of the pistol to only what is necessary for optimal performance, and tying in with the other high-speed features, like its racy ported slide. The pistol grip of the Hi-capa design is a modular part, separate from the alloy frame, and is made from textured polymer with an imitation hand-stippled texture for excellent gripping qualities.

The stippled grip provides enough friction to prevent an accidental drop, but not so much that you have to wear gloves in order to avoid tearing your hands apart. The texturing wraps around the entire grip and the hammer spring housing, adding to the elite looks of the Stryk and giving it vibes of pistols twice its price!

At the base of the grip, the full-size Stryk boasts what is known as a "flared magazine well extension" or simply "flared magwell". This device helps guide your magazine in during an adrenaline-pumped reload, ensuring you never miss the magazine well and can keep your eyes downrange, scanning for targets. A popular upgrade for Hi-Capas intended for competition shooting, the flared magwell also functions as a palm rest to encourage consistent hand positioning, which translates to accuracy downrange.

Whether you're a Hi-Capa fanboi seeking a speedy option or you're fresh to the sport, looking for a solid performing sidearm with plenty of upgrade and customisation options, the Lancer Tactical Stryk Hi-Capa 5.1 GBB Pistol should not be overlooked! With fantastic quality machining, impressive gas efficiency and a style all of its own, the Stryk is ready to be your faithful, dependable backup.
