Quick Start Guide
- Charge your Battery: We recommend a 7.4V 1450mAh LiPo battery for this AEG. Please note: a battery and charger are NOT included with this product. Plug your charger into a 3-Plug UK wall socket and connect the balance connector on your battery to the balance port on your LiPo charger. Your charger will cut off when your battery reaches capacity, but you should never leave it on charge unattended. We recommend using a Battery Safe Charging Bag for charging and storing your battery.
- Fill your speed loader: Open the hatch on the top and pour BBs in. Press the button on the side to deploy the thumb plunger. A speed loader is required to load the included medium-capacity magazine. If you don't have one, find them here: Airsoft Speedloaders
- Load your magazine: Position your speedloader to align with the port on the top of your magazine. Holding the speedloader firmly against the magazine, push the thumb plunger repeatedly until it becomes firm.
- Put on your Eye Protection: Safety when using Airsoft guns should be your number 1 priority. Always wear eye protection before loading your AEG and ensure any spectators are also protected.
- Connect your battery: Remove the butt plate from your stock by extending the stock, pressing the tabs on either side, then lifting it free. Inside the buffer tube, you'll find the Deans connector. Position each of the cell groups of your battery inside the tubes on either side of the stock, then connect the Deans connectors. With your wiring neatly tucked in, replace the butt plate.
- Insert your magazine: With the fire selector switch set to "SAFE" and the barrel pointed in a safe direction with your finger off the trigger, insert your magazine by pushing it up into the magazine well.
- You're now ready to shoot! - Never shoot at animals or humans who aren't in an Airsoft skirmish
About the Delta Vanguard M4/AR-15 Sentinel AEG
Starting at the tip of the alloy outer barrel, we can find an alloy birdcage flash hider, which mounts to the 14mm CCW male threads. The birdcage gives the Sentinel the classic M4/AR-15 look, but can easily be swapped out for a muzzle brake for a more custom style, a tracer unit for some CQB action or a suppressor if you have more of a sneaky play style.
Surrounding the outer barrel, we have the polymer KeyMod handguard, which is styled after the KAC URX4 and gives the rifle a dynamic, high-speed look. The mock KeyMod attachment interface is functional, and allows the 3 included rail sections to be moved around and mounted anywhere at the 3, 6 or 9 o'clock position on the handguard, though the mock KeyMod slots are not compatible with aftermarket KeyMod accessories.
The 12 o'clock position provides a full-length 20mm Picatinny rail, which integrates seamlessly with the receiver rail to allow for longer optical sights to be used or red dot sight magnifier combos. As it arrives, the Sentinel is equipped with a pair of flip-up aperture iron sights, both of which are fully adjustable for windage and elevation. The sights can be deployed by pressing the textured tabs on each, which will snap the sights into position under spring pressure. To stow the sights, simply push them back down, and they will lock into place.
Moving rearward, we reach the receiver, which is constructed from high-density polymer with a matt black finish. The fire selector is located on the left side of the AEG and sits directly above the pistol grip to provide fast and easy access for right-handed shooters. The fire selector has a 90-degree throw between modes, making it quick to operate but not too easy to accidentally knock it and end up in the wrong fire mode. Each fire mode is indicated with recessed markings reading SAFE-SEMI-AUTO.
The magazine release is on the right side of the magazine well and is ideally positioned to be pressed with the trigger finger from a firing grip for right-handed users. Left-handed users can use their support hand thumb to press the release, and this can be done quite fast with a little practice. The surface of the mag release is textured to provide the necessary gripping qualities, and is protected from accidental presses by the "magwell fence", a raised protrusion in the receiver which stops the mag release from catching on your gear as you move.
The adjustable HOP-up unit is located inside the mock ejection port over on the right side of the upper receiver. This device allows you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your BBs and tune the Sentinel for your ammo weight of choice, looking for the flattest possible trajectory. The Rotary HOP-up adjuster can be accessed by holding the charging handle back, after which the dust cover will spring open, and the mock bolt plate will retract. The rotary HOP-up design is known as the latest and greatest for M4 AEGs, and it is always nice to see up-to-date internal parts, even in reasonably priced platforms like this.
Between the receiver and buffer tube, we are treated to an ambidextrous sling plate constructed from steel for maximum strength. This plate allows a single-point sling to be mounted on either the left or the right side of the platform, but can be paired with a front sling point (not included) mounted to the 20mm top rail to fit a two-point sling if that is your preference.
At the rear, the Sentry is equipped with a unique A-frame stock with a quick-access battery compartment. The stock also features a pair of QD sling sockets, one on each side, allowing QD sling swivels to be fitted. Conventional sling slots are also present for those who prefer the old-fashioned way.
The adjustment lever is in the centre of the A-frame shape. To adjust the stock to any of the 6 adjustment positions, hold the lever down and slide the stock into your position of choice. This means you can adjust to suit your body type and any tactical gear you're wearing.
The butt plate is made from grippy rubber with a serrated design, ensuring your Sentry doesn't slip off your shoulder at a critical moment. If you decide you want a change or prefer another stock design, you'll be pleased to learn you can swap this stock for any M4/AR-15 AEG sliding stock to customise your build.

These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
