If you're into GBBRs and want something which stands out, the Salvo Precision Rattler .300BLK GBBR should be in your sights! A full metal build inspired by the real steel Rattler PDW, this beast is internally based on the Tokyo Marui ZET system, widely regarded as the best GBBR internal system out there currently.
Inside, Salvo Precision has treated us to steel trigger group components, a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel and a steel internal bolt catch, improving long-term durability and saving you money and time on upgrading high wear parts. Thanks to its shortened MCX-inspired bolt carrier, the Rattler boasts phenomenal gas efficiency and a surprising rate of fire, with satisfying recoil and the challenging but rewarding ultra-realistic GBBR manual of arms. To make matters even better, the Rattler is supplied in a fantastic quality hard case with custom-cut foam!

Description
Inspired by a real steel MCX-based PDW design which is taking the world by storm, the Salvo Precision Rattler .300BLK GBBR is a full metal gas blowback rifle internally based on the proven Tokyo Marui ZET system, ideal for realism-focused skirmishers requiring a CQB platform at the cutting edge!
On the outside, the Rattler boasts a uniquely modern feature set, equipped with an M-LOK handguard, plenty of QD sling sockets, a 1913/20mm Picatinny stock interface and ambidextrous fire controls. The layout of the controls is based around the prolific M4/AR-15 platform, meaning an easy transition for any M4 user and no need to retrain.
Inside, the Rattler is based on the TM ZET system, which is leaps and bounds ahead of other GBBR systems as it comes out of the box. Most of the trigger group components are made from steel, saving you a wad of cash on upgrading these high-wear parts. If you're after an ultra-modern alternative to the prolific M4, the Salvo Precision Rattler .300BLK GBBR belongs on your shopping list!
Starting at the front, we can find a three-prong flash hider made from alloy, mounted to 14mm CCW male barrel threading. The tri-prong device is a distinctive design and suits the Rattler build perfectly, though it can easily be swapped out for a tracer or suppressor at your discretion. If you're going sneaky with the Rattler, we recommend adding the Airsoft Artisan SRD762 Suppressor for a realistic, calibre correct solution!
Moving rearwards, we come to the M-LOK handguard, equipped with M-LOK attachment slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, ready to be dressed up with accessories. At the rear of the handguard, we're also treated to a pair of QD sling sockets, one on each side. These sockets can be used to mount QD sling swivels and paired with the receiver sockets or those on the stock to mount the most modern quick-release sling setup around.
Beneath the handguard, we can take note of the insane level of detail paid by Salvo Precision when replicating the Rattler. The realistic mock gas block and adjustable gas key are visible through the port at the top front of the handguard, matching the real Rattler to a tee. With the detent on the front left of the gas block pressed in, you can even turn the gas key to different positions, a feature present in the real Rattler to allow extra gas to be sent into the action in adverse conditions or gas flow to be reduced to permit the use of a suppressor. To the rear of the gas adjustment port, we are treated to realistic "↓+ " and "↑-" directional markings engraved on the monolithic receiver, just like the real thing. Realism fans will love this one!
Moving rearwards, we come to the receiver, which is a perfect match for the real thing, complete with a monolithic 20mm Picatinny top rail, weight reduction recesses and recessed "RATTLER" engraving on the mock cam pin guide insert on the left side. Like an M4/AR-15, the charging handle is located at the top rear of the receiver, an ambidextrous design which can be racked from either side, with a single finger if that's all you have available!
Being a GBBR, you will need to rack the charging handle to load the first BB, and you can also use it to return the bolt to battery after a reload. An M4/AR-15-style "ping pong paddle" bolt lock/release catch is present on the left side; pressing the upper section is the fastest way to send the bolt carrier home during a reload with the bolt locked back.
The lower section of the "ping pong paddle" is considerably extended, allowing you to more easily lock the bolt back manually by holding the charging handle back, holding the lower section in and pushing the charging handle back into the receiver. If you've used an M4 GBBR before, you'll already know all of this, but you will definitely appreciate the well-thought-out enhanced MCX-style controls present on the Rattler!
Moving down to the lower receiver, we can find the magazine release and fire selector switch; both derived from the M4/AR-15 layout but designed with larger surfaces for easier manipulation under pressure. The fire selector design is similar to the M4 but is present on either side, with rounded edges to reduce fatigue-causing "hot spots". The magazine release is also ambidextrous, ideal for left or right-handed shooters and positioned on the magazine well, easily within reach while the Rattler is held in a ready position. If you're already pretty quick reloading an AR, you'll be even faster with the Rattler!
The design of the lower receiver itself incorporates many improvements added to modernised "billet" M4/AR-15 receivers, including a built-in enlarged trigger guard to improve strength and a flared magazine well to help guide your mag in during a reload. The pistol grip is a unique design intended for concealment, a compact design which is far shorter than a standard AR grip. Those with big mitts will be happy to learn it is compatible with aftermarket M4/AR-15 GBBR and real steel grips.
Just aft of the pistol grip, we're treated to a pair of QD sling sockets on each side of the receiver, ready for QD sling swivels to be mounted. At the very rear, the Rattler is equipped with a 1913/20mm Picatinny stock interface, effectively a short length of 20mm Picatinny rail, which allows a wide variety of aftermarket 1913 interface compatible stocks to be mounted. This means you can change the stock in seconds to suit the mission at hand, with options ranging from M4/AR-15 buffer tube adapters to low profile stocks, visor stocks and more!
Included in the hard storage case the Rattler is supplied in, we have a low-profile 1913/20mm Picatinny stock, made with an alloy hinge mech, CNC aluminium stock bar and rubber butt plate. The stock isn't installed as it comes, but thankfully, it is as easy as loosening the Allen bolt in the folding mech, positioning the stock on the 1913 interface and tightening it down until firm.
Once installed, the stock can be folded by bracing the thumb on the top of the receiver and lifting the stock up to defeat the locking mech. To redeploy the stock, simply lift the stock again, and it can be slapped back into place. The benefit of a button-less folding mech is ease of use when pumped with adrenaline; there is nothing worse than searching for a fiddly button to fold or unfold the stock mid-firefight!
On the inside, Salvo Precision has treated us to steel trigger group components, including the interior bolt catch mech. While the TM ZET system is a great design with superb engineering on its side, providing steel components straight out of the box will save you cash in the long run and ensure reliability is peak!
Thanks to its short bolt carrier length derived from the real steel MCX design, gas efficiency is very impressive and cold weather performance is considerably above average. The inner barrel is also a 6.03mm tightbore example, providing an accuracy edge with high-quality BBs and a slight boost in FPS. The adjustable HOP-up is a pure Tokyo Marui clone, a gear-type adjuster inside the upper receiver, requiring the receiver to be split by pushing the rear body pin through, and the bolt carrier to be removed to access the adjuster.
If you're into GBBRs and need something modern and compact for CQB, the Salvo Precision Rattler .300BLK GBBR will be an asset to your arsenal. A solid full metal build with all the details realism fans will love, with internals based on the best GBBR system around, the Rattler is ready to strike!
