If you're into the 416 vibe but want something more modern and swift to point, the Specna Arms SA-PH22 PRIME™ M-416 RAHG 14.5" AEG is one to watch. Part of Specna's impressive PRIME™ range, the SA-PH22 is packed with pre-upgraded parts and designed to compete with the very best Airsoft has to offer, with no need for additional upgrades or tuning. Some of these upgrades include a powerful Dark Matter™ brushless motor, CNC 16:1 ratio steel gears running on 8mm J-CAGE bushings, CNC aluminium cylinder group parts and a reinforced tappet plate for reliable feeding.
The PRIME™ is Specna's newest line of AEGs. They have taken their traditional AEG silhouettes and stripped away the internals to make room for a new set of improved parts to enhance performance, improve consistency and increase rate of fire. The highlight of this AEG is the option to choose either the Gate ASTER II Bluetooth MOSFET or the HAL MOSFET, substantially improving trigger response and offering programmable firing modes. Which you choose depends on your needs; the ASTER II is ideal for the skirmisher seeking a plethora of advanced functions, and the HAL version is great for users who prefer an easier-to-use yet still advanced MOSFET!
A sleeker, more agile alternative to the hefty quad-rail equipped 416, the Specna Arms SA-PH22 PRIME™ M-416 RAHG 14.5" AEG is certain to turn heads on the field, even more so when you shoot it! If you're after an ultra-modern AR setup with pre-upgraded internals to rival the best, the SA-PH22 is the ideal choice!

Description
If you like a 416 but prefer them long, the SA-PH22 PRIME™ M-416 RAHG 14.5" AEG from Specna Arms fits the bill! This full metal 416-style replica boasts the RAHG handguard, a weight-reduced handguard which replaces the old-school quad rail of the original, resulting in a rifle which is very fast to point with the pre-requisite modern styling. Inside, things get even better!
Internally, the Specna Arms SA-PH23 PRIME™ has a lot to boast about. The AETHER V2 gearbox shell spine has been reinforced to get ahead of a well-known weakness with V2 gearboxes operated at high-performance parameters. It is great to see that Specna Arms has addressed this issue, to ensure the premium PRIME™ AEGs are as reliable in the long term as they are fantastic shooters on the field.
Inside the reinforced shell we find a plethora of premium parts such as CNC 16:1 ratio steel gears running on 8mm J-CAGE bushings, a reinforced piston with a full rack of steel teeth, a reinforced tappet plate for reliable feeding, and a CNC aluminium piston head, cylinder head and nozzle for maximum long term durability. The cylinder is also CNC machined from steel, as is the spring guide.
To drive this impressive gearbox setup, we also find the Specna Arms Dark Matter™ Brushless High-Speed Motor. This insane component gives the SA-PH22 an impressive rate of fire when on full auto, and the brushless design ensures that it won't overheat as easily, even after long periods of constant full auto.
The Specna Arms HAL¹ MOSFET adds programmable fire modes into the mix, along with several quality of life features to keep your beastly PRIME™ setup running at its best. Available fire mode options include binary trigger, AUG mode and sniper delay instead of semi-auto and semi-auto lock, 3-round burst or 5-round burst instead of full auto. Also available via the HAL is adjustable pre-cocking so you can tune the trigger response to near-instantaneous, and adjustable trigger sensitivity, offering 5 levels to choose from to suit your exact needs. The HAL¹ also keeps an eye on your battery and warns you when it's running low, fantastic news for those who never want to be caught out in the heat of battle!
Starting at the tip of the outer barrel, we find an M4/AR-15 birdcage flash hider mounted to 14mm CCW male threading. The 14.5-inch outer barrel is constructed from alloy to provide a strong backbone and keep the tightbore inner barrel nice and straight for perfect accuracy. If you want to mount a tracer unit, suppressor or alternative muzzle device, all you need to do is unscrew the flash hider and mount your preferred device, thanks to the common 14mm CCW threading at the tip of the barrel.
The front iron sight is a fixed front post with "wings" on either side of it to keep it protected from accidental bumps. The sight is constructed from alloy and is not adjustable, as it is welded onto the wings. This sight design is taken straight from the legendary G3 and MP5 platforms, offering the option to aim quickly using one of the wider apertures on the rear sight while offering 3 additional apertures for different engagement ranges. These sights are excellent but are also rail-mounted and removable, giving you the option to replace them with flip-up sights or remove them entirely.
Surrounding the outer barrel, we have a 13.25" CNC aluminium "RAHG" handguard with a 20mm Picatinny rail running along the top, ready for any 20mm accessories you choose to add to complete your mission. All this rail space is excellent for people trying out new loadouts; the freedom of being able to mount common 20mm Picatinny attachments on any side of your handguard allows you to find the perfect setup. The RAHG attachment interface is proprietary and not compatible with M-LOK without modification, though if you're good at sourcing, you may be able to find 20mm rail adapters so you can mount 20mm Picatinny accessories.
The receiver should be a familiar sight to anyone who has handled an M4/AR-15 platform before, constructed from alloy and matching the 416 receiver style perfectly. This includes the more vertical magwell angle, mil-spec flat trigger guard, magazine release fence and raised upper receiver rail. The magazine release is on the right side of the magazine well, with a push-through design just like a standard M4/AR-15 AEG with a textured surface for optimal traction.
The fire selector switch is just above the pistol grip on the right side, offering 3 modes of fire with a 90-degree throw between each. The default fire modes are safe, semi-auto and full auto, but with the pre-installed HAL¹ ETU, you have the option of using binary trigger instead of semi and 3-round burst instead of full auto. This makes the SA-PH23 very versatile and ready for any situation you may find yourself in!
The charging handle can be found at the top rear of the receiver and features an extended charging handle latch to provide easy access when wearing gloves. Pulling the charging handle back will pop the dust cover open and retract the mock bolt, revealing the rotary Magnus™ HOP-up unit on the right side. The HOP-up allows you to adjust the amount of backspin applied to your projectiles and tune the SA-PH23 for different ammo weights, looking for the flattest possible trajectory. When you've completed your adjustments, you can slap the "ping pong paddle" style bolt release catch on the left side of the receiver to drop the mock bolt with a satisfying metal-on-metal "clank".
Up top, we have a 20mm Picatinny receiver rail with a preinstalled rear iron sight. The rear sight offers the choice of 4 different aiming apertures, designed for engagements at different ranges and in different ambient lighting conditions. If you prefer to run an optical sight you can loosen the screws with an Allen key on the left side of the iron sights and remove them to access the full length of your receiver rail.
At the rear of the receiver, we come to the steel CQD-style sling plate, which offers ambidextrous functionality with single-point slings; perfect for left or right-handed shooters. The steel construction practically guarantees no matter what you choose to mount to the SA-PH23, the sling plate will be strong enough to support the weight.
To the rear of the sling plate, we come to the M4/AR-15 buffer tube, which is constructed from the same strong, high-density polymer used for the receiver. The buffer tube offers 6 positions of stock adjustment and boasts a low-snag design to keep mobility high. The adjustment lever is located on the bottom and is well concealed inside the design, allowing the stock to be lengthened and shortened to suit the environment and play style. We don't recommend using the visible loop sling points on the stock as they are made from polymer, we would recommend using the slit in the middle of the stock instead.
The battery compartment is inside the HK-style sliding stock, offering plenty of room for Crane/nunchuck configuration batteries. To access the battery compartment you can either remove the stock entirely by pulling the adjustment lever out and sliding the stock off to the rear or remove the butt plate by rotating it counterclockwise and pulling it off. Inside, you will find a Deans battery connector to which you mount your chosen battery. The Deans connector has the advantage of being smaller and offering lower electrical resistance when compared to the mini-Tamiya, and we are always happy to see more Deans connectors appearing on out-of-the-box AEGs.
If you want top-tier performance without the hassle of upgrading an AEG yourself, the Specna Arms SA-PH22 PRIME™ M-416 RAHG 14.5" AEG is the one to go for. It's very rare to find an AEG packed with so much technology and so many enhanced components, especially at such a competitive price!

Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
