Theta Optics 3-9x40 AOEG Riflescope

If you're readying your setup for long-range engagements, the Theta Optics 3-9x40 AOEG Riflescope will be an asset. Made from aluminium with a set of scope rings for 20mm Picatinny rails included, this scope is ready to mount on any 20mm Picatinny rail-equipped platform and is a significant step up from cheaper scopes for not much more money!

Surrounding the 40mm objective lens at the front, we have a radial dial known as the parallax adjustment dial. This allows you to clarify the image seen through the scope for different engagement ranges, ensuring you have a good view of your target. The objective lens itself is larger than most affordable scopes, providing a wider field of view and more light transmission, so you'll never miss a concealed foe. 

Moving rearwards, we come to the adjustment turrets, centrally positioned capped turrets which provide adjustment for windage (left and right) and elevation (up and down). To access the adjustment dials and get zeroed in, simply unscrew the protective cap from each turret. 

Next up, we reach the magnification adjustment dial, a radial dial between the scope body and the "eye bell". Turning this dial counterclockwise increases the zoom, allowing for magnification levels between 3x and 9x. 3x is ideal for engagements at Airsoft ranges, while higher magnification levels are fantastic for identifying friend from foe and figuring out whether that moving bush in the distance has an enemy sniper hidden inside. 

On top of the "eye bell", we have the illumination adjustment dial, which also serves as the battery compartment. To install a CR2032 cell (not included), simply unscrew the top cap. Once you've installed your battery, you can choose from red or green illumination, with 5 brightness/intensity settings for each colour. Even if your battery is dead or you don't have one to hand, you can still use the 3-9x40 AOEG Riflescope with its standard black Mildot reticle, benefiting from improved ability to lead moving targets thanks to the Mildot's graduation lines. 

At the very rear of the scope, we have yet another adjustable parameter. This time, it is the "fast focus" dial, functioning similarly to the parallax dial but aimed at providing quick adjustments to clarify the image to suit your eye and the range of the objective. Having this amount of adjustment in such an affordable rifle scope really is remarkable, and the extra dials give it a mean, professional look as a bonus!
